BlessedBeyondMeasure2012 got a reaction from BigDaddyJoe in Bit of a rant: Pissed off - upset - depressed
You look great! You don't look like a little old man and I actually think you look younger than before. It is hard for people to see us going through so many changes. They get used to seeing us big and when we start losing it looks to them like we are a lot smaller than what we actually are. I go through this on a daily basis. People call me "skinny" every day, and let me tell you, I am FAR from skinny. I am still wearing an 18/20 in pants but for some reason, people who knew me before surgery see me as smaller than this. I keep telling myself that if someone who didn't know me before saw me they would still see an overwight woman with plenty of weight to lose. People that see you, ones that didn't know you before, see you as a healthy and fit guy, not someone who is big or overweight. I think sometimes as much as our view of ourselves is skewed, the people that knew us before also have skewed views of us. Keep your head up, you are doing and have done amazing!

TOSS THE BOX!!! I had the same problem. It is still hard for me to wrap my mind around the fact that I have gotten rid of clothes that were too big that used to be my 'I'll get into those someday" clothes. I am almost through all of those and am fixing to be in uncharted waters, or at least I haven't been in them in years. You won't need them again. Ever. Get rid of them and make some room for the new stuff that will be finding it's way in!

Good for her---and how wonderful to have your best friend/sister as a support and cheerleader! You could ask on VST if anyone has used a doctor in her area as a recommendation and place to start....

This is how it happened with me and and my husband. I told him I was doing it, and asked for his help in encouraging me to stay on plan. What resonated with him was I said I had no idea how long I would live, but I intended to spend that time as a thin person, able to do things I wanted to before I died. He realized he wanted the same thing.
I can NOT tell you how beneficial it has been to have a buddy go through it at the same time. We did our pre-op together, we had surgery the same day, and now we're recovering together. We can support each other, we can share experiences, and we can take care of each other.
I don't know if your sister lives close by, but it would be so good for both of you to be able to help each other through this, even if she lives far away.

Most surgeons use a size that they are comfortable with - mine used a 40F because he believed it resulted in less complications. I started at 271lbs and 13 months later I'm at 125lbs.... got to goal. So its really more about what you do with what you have been given.

I'm two weeks post-op and I've lost a few inches - 3 on my bust, and 2 each on my waist and hips. I went bra shopping and found that I'd gone from a 42G with an extender to a perfect 40F in a minimizer. And the best part of all is that it's so pretty! I also bought a button-down shirt that actually fits great. It makes such a huge difference in showing off the weight loss, don't you think? What did you buy?

BlessedBeyondMeasure2012 got a reaction from joatsaint in I Don’t Have To Finish My Plate or How I’m Fighting With Old Habits
I did this very thing last night. That was the first time since surgery that I even came close to getting sick. (I'm 7 weeks out) I had this really uncomfortable, almost painful feeling along with EXTREME nausea for about 10 minutes. I even went in the bathroom just to be on the safe side. After a few minutes in there I had about 5 really intense hiccups and then they stopped and the feeling slowly started to ease. I'm gonna do my best to never do that again. I don't like throwing up and I like being nauseated even less. I'll have to apologize to the starving children across the globe for throwing away a few bites with most meals. I have tried to watch how "skinny" people eat, and almost all of them don't clean their plates. I'm having to break this in myself. We have already started teaching our son to make a "happy plate" and I feel guilty about giving him bad habits already. I'm going to have to stop it now and not wait until he is over weight. Thank the Lord he has gotten his physique from his daddy, thin!

Blogs are here for that reason - we don't have to make a blog entry specifically about weight loss or anything else. A blog is where you post your personal thoughts, experiences, or anything else you want to post.
Sometimes sharing your feelings is the only way you can free yourself from the "drama". That saying about how the truth will set you free - well it's true.
I'm following this blog because I'm interested. Not everyone will be interested. The solution is to just not read it if the "drama" bothers you or doesn't fit your ideas regarding relevant posts.

I would bet it's safe to say your kids have an amazing mom already:)
And I think I have bad breath too.
