hey aussie kelloff, did u have a pre-op diet? & how long for? Im also in Oz & dont have a pre-op diet, only have to fast from the night before surgery. Congrats on the loss so far, thats awesome !

my doctor has never had a leak!! he staples and then stiches also to prevent them happening. After reading these stories Im feeling a little scared though ...

totally agree with you jlewis, i know there are guys that want to date me but not necessarily the ones i am attracted to. i know im a good person, funny, confident, smart but i'm also fat!! and i know when my weight comes off my options will broaden. i dont think its right but it is reality!

best of luck Texarkolina, im not trying to go against what your Doctor has said in any way but some people dont have to do a pre-op diet at all. sounds like u made a wise choice in what u did eat. there is no way i could stick to a liquid diet, if i could i wouldnt need this surgery!! keep up the good work & dont listen to the negativity ... for every negative post you will get twice as many positive ones

hi mishy, great to see someone else from Perth here, you are ahead of me so you will have to keep me informed on how you go when the time comes. My date is 24 August with dr dolan. Do you have to do a pre-op diet? I havent been told to do one, only fast from the night before surgery.

In what part of what i said did I attack ? i said I dont like being called a liar because I choose not to tell anyone. Its not BS its just keeping my personal business to myself! Sounds like you have a problem with people having a different opinion to you!!!

Not everyone has supportive people in their lives, the ones that do, you are blessed. Some people like myself feel that most people in my life would be unsupportive. And Its not always an issue of worrying what these unsupportive people think or say, sometimes it just that you dont want to deal with them. Also, not telling someone doesnt constitute lying, its just not telling them! Its a very personal journey & is up to the individual who they tell & who they dont. Anyone that wants to keep this surgery to themselves dont let others make you feel guilty for doing so.

Im an august sleever & personally only know 1 person who has been sleeved. I dont really know her that well, she is a work colleague. I know she has been sleeved for about 14 months. She seems to eat very little from what I see & also quite slow. She showed me her before photos & she now looks amazing. Now the grose part.. she seems to vomit lots through the day, she eats then goes straight to the bathroom & throws up, she often has to leave her desk to throw up. She often smells like vomit. Im sure sometimes she hasnt made it to the bathroom & has vomited in her bin. She told me alot of nights she has to change her bed sheets because she vomits without being able to get to the bathroom on time. Also alot of times when speaking she seems to choke on saliva, like she has too much, sometimes she dribbles while talking. Is this typical after being sleeved?? Like I said she is over 14 months out, I thought most of these type problems would be controlled by that amout of time?? Has anyone else heard of this? or experienced it? It is making me have second thoughts... I scared that i will vomit constantly & not be able to even make it to a bathroom... arrgghhh
