  1. Who else cannot WAIT for this summer?! The past few weeks have been dragging by for me, waiting for school to get out and to have my surgery. I'm not having it until July 10th because I'm going on a family vacation, and then I'm taking a graduate course for two weeks after. But I am aching for summer to get here! Hopefully this will be the summer of our lives =)

I also keep wondering how much I'll have lost by the time we go back in August. I wonder if my kids will notice a difference by then... Next year should be an interesting year for us!

I was just thinking the same thing, Has anything helped? Need ideas

  2. What are July Sleevers doing to pass the time? I have another month left for the end of the year and I don't know what to do. I was told not to start my pre-op liquid diet yet , I have not a clue as to what to do while waiting? I am hearing all these numbers about percentage of weightloss after surgery do you know is the wightloss percentage 30% 50% less or more?

  3. OMG, who are you telling....5 more days, and kids coming to me with issues of other kids looking at them and stuff, its like watching paint dry....

I'm on my pre-op so I'm trying to not let people get under my skin right now....

I bribed my homeroom with a last day of school snack if they are good the next 5 school days!!

    Come on June 11th!!

Wow I am so with you guys. June 22nd last day Surgery July 3

  4. Anyone have any input or recommendations for a treadmill? Looking to spend between $500.00 & $800.00. Any comments about the treadmills advertised/sold on HSN? At least they have payment plans, but don't know if what they sell is good. Thanks.

I have one I am selling. I am moving and it can't fit. It is about 1 year old and in good condition.

  5. Ok ok I'm sorry for just getting back with everyone, I was sleeved on 16th and everything went wonderfully well. Now I'm about to rock this sleeve with y'all!!!!!! This is one of the best thing I have done in life. Next to putting God first in my life and having my daughter now this what a new start life I have!!! Thank u Jesus for another !!! Chance!!!!!!! Lady's we ROCK!!!!!!!

great attitude! You rock ! I can't wait to be sleeved.

  6. Wow.. everyone's seem to be cheaper than what I have to pay. 16620.00. Includes pre op and post op for a year. I will have about 500.00 more in expenses after the surgery for lab fees. I paid cash 6 thousdand and financing the rest. I hope I feel it is worth it after next monday... :) I'm worried since my insurance has an exclusion on the policy... won't pay for complications either. I pray I don't have any.

    congrats

  7. Sleeved 1/28/12. I've lost a total of 62# but in the last month its only been 5 or 6 lbs. I admittedly don't work out so I know that needs improvement stat!! Because I need back surgery I find even short walks to be painful & I've stopped taking all my pain meds for my back because they make me soooo sick since being sleeved. I'm going to start yoga tomorrow to see if that feels ok. Otherwise will have to join a gym, which is an expense I don't want to add to our budget right now if I can avoid it.

I track every single thing I eat & average around 800 cals/day. I'm not a carb nazi because I don't want to feel like a dieter anymore, after a lifetime of yo-to dieting, but I eat Protein first & eat no bread, rice, sugar, etc. I drink the occasional carb free beer, like michelob ultra, but no other straying away from my Water, unsweetened tea or daily coffee. I don't eat a lot of chips, though occasionally have a couple when out for Mexican or something like that. I'm on myfitpal & my diary is an open book so if you're on there & would like to view it, feel free!

So, please, please tell me why I'm not losing????? It's still the so-called honeymoon phase so shouldn't I still be losing a decent amount? I've been between 255 & 253 foreverrrrr. HELP ME!!!!!

I don't know if this helps but my doctor told me "It's not what your not doing that is making you gain weight it is what you are doing" Think about what you are doing and see what you can change. The what you eat and the how much may? She told me to focus on what I am doing and not what I am not doing and you will find the answer. I hope that helps.

  8. I just have to say, I'M HUNGRY! :( This isn't easy in any way, shape, or form! I know it is necessary though to get to the other side. I keep telling myself I have a few more weeks without real food but it is worth it to get healthy. I'm still really concerned and scared and I know nothing will change that until I am a few months out and sure I won't get a leak or have complications. I wish I could just stop worrying and being anxious. I've been dreaming about surgery. Worrying about every aspect of it. I have to have a large hernia reparied and I just keep thinking, "what if my liver didn't shrink??". I haven't been very positive for anyone on this forum lately. I need to change my way of thinking and my attitude and be grateful that I'm doing this. I am a Christian and I need to put my faith in GOD and know that what happens is meant to happen.

Well, thanks for letting me vent. AGAIN! :) Love you guys! Have a great rest of the weekend. Uggh.. I just want some food! On the up side... 10. 4 pounds in 5 days is unbelievable for me! :)

Things will get better. You are half way there. You were approved and so the battle is half won. The feeling will fade as you see the old you fade too. Just think about the life you will have once you become healthier. I had a few herina repairs you will be great. Pray about it and let it go, you don't have control, let it go you can only control your reaction to the situation not the action. You will be a healthier, happier you.
