FluffyDiva345 reacted to jeepermom in Post Op September Sleevers, Roll Call
newgrandmother, about 6 months is where I started struggling, too. Working with my therapist is helping some, but getting my head to accept and deal with all the crap that's coming up is really hard. I eat for comfort...and her task for me now, is to actually feel the emotion I am feeling that is sending me to the food for comfort. If I am bored, I am to actually feel and acknowledge the boredom instead of just going to get a snack. To be honest, it sucks, is uncomfortable, and I don't like it. I find myself fighting her help, but I feel it will help me get to the root of my eating & weight problems. But, it is a slow track...I am getting there.
If you have a library close, check out the book "The Power of Habit." I have it checked out on audio book and am listening on the way to and from work...it has some really interesting insight that I feel is also helping me. The group leader at support group this month talked about it.
Hang in there...we will all get there in our own time...

FluffyDiva345 got a reaction from lanuevanicolasa in September Sleveers Whats Your Progress?
Sleeved on 11th. Lost 16 lbs on my 2 week preop diet. Surgery went well, the first 2 days were the hardest due to nausea and gas. I found that as I got up and started walking around the Hospital things got a lot better. Came home on Thursday, thing improve a little more each day. I find that my sleeve will tolerate warm better, so have been drinking warm Decaf tea which also has helped with the gas????. Have not weighed yet, will wait until my first post-op visit.
It is not a piece of cake, or a walk in the park but it is worth every sacrifice I have made thus far. I love myself too much to throw away any more years of my life to obesity. I know this is only a tool but I intend to do my share of the work to make this work.
Wishing all those struggling with pre-op or post-op diets the very best. It is not an easy road but please remember YOU ARE WORTH IT!!!!!!

FluffyDiva345 reacted to susanfaye in Pre-Op Diet A Fail
You know, I did "cheat" some on my preop diet, yet still lost 16 lbs. My surgeon's exact words were " wow, you did great!" So, I would say just get back on track and make double sure you comply with the diet for the remainder! YOU CAN DO IT! It will be so worth the investment for you;-)
Do not let other peoples propencity for negativity drag you down! Regardless of what they claim, if we were all self control superstars we would not need the surgery to begin with. Good luck to you!

FluffyDiva345 reacted to Threetimesacharm in Pre-Op Diet A Fail
You might not realize but this is a serious surgery, 85% of your stomach is removed!! I answered another post you may like to read it. If you can't do TWO WEEKS pre-op how oh how are you going to stick with a reduced intake plan for the rest of your life?? Think about it!
I think they need to hear the truth, I don't think that sugar coating it is the answer(read my other reply will give you more information).

The point of the pre-op is to shrink your liver. If you can't stick to the pre-op you may want to re-consider having the surgery. It is a life changing event when it comes to your eating. Don't go into this expecting a miracle. You have to do a lot of work to make it happen. Good Luck to you.

Okay first of all I'm sorry you are going trough this. I know it's tough but you will get through this.
Second stop calling him. Give him his space or time or whatever it is that he needs. This will give him the chance to think about what he's done and possibly come back. If you keep calling him and bombarding him with questions he will not get this time. It will also give you the opportunity to get over him.
Start thinking about your plan b. Can you relocate to be closer to your family and cousins?
Get up and dust yourself off and try again!!! You just had the surgery your whole life is going to change in a matter of months. Your confidence level will sky rocket. You will have a new take on life. BUMP HIM! There are plenty of guys out there who will appreciate you and value your worth. Besides, do you really want a guy who would do this to you and your son rigt after surgery anyways???! To be honest I think he fled because he knew that once you lose the weight you will be too good for him and that would crush his ego.
Get up and walk with your head high and enjoy the act that you are a mother of a beautiful 12 yr old who loves you unconditionally.
This too shall pass.
