  1. Hey everyone, how is it going? I have had two bouts of feeling hungry since I started this. The first was the night before surgery, the hunger and growling in my stomach woke me up. Then again last night the same thing. What kind of milk did you guys use for everything? I have the silk almond milk but someone said that it did not make the SF pudding a pudding consistency.....any tips on what to eat or drink 2 nd week post op?

  2. Okay guys, I had my surgery on Tuesday , July 17 th and that night was rough and the following morning. By yesterday afternoon it was great. I also had my hiatal hernia repaired . I love me some SF icicle pops and the sipping of Water and broth is good. They removed the drain yesterday afternoon and that helped my pain tremendously. I cannot say enough about how Dr. Washington and Emily have been towards me, they both are very dedicated to there work and patients, very passionate about us all. They don't make a lot of surgeons that way anymore. The staff at Conway Medical Center have been fantastic. They have treated me so good that I might decide to stay a week..Hahahah, this is better than the Hilton with room service.. Seriouly I am ready to go home but I would not be if they had not helped me start my journey.

So if any of you out there are considering having the surgery and are near Conway, SC or want a fantastic team on your side please consider Dr. Morris Washington. I can only say good things about he and his assistant Emily. :-). I am a very happy girl

  4. Okay girls and boys my surgery date is July 17th. I am excited and a little scared but I know this is a good thing. I have HBP on medication, high cholesterol and should be on meds, arthritis in both knees and have strong family history of diabetes. Starting weight was 209lbs. I have been on pre op liquid diet since July 1st and now weigh 202 according to my morning weigh on my scales in my birthday suit. Pre op diet has not been hard until tonight when I cheated an had a small bite of Arby's roast beef and licked the horseradish packet.

Would like to have a few July sleevers to keep up with each other and share the good and the bad.

My surgeon is in Conway,SC. Dr. Morris Washington and he is great. I actually am a Registered Nurse and work in the OR with Dr. Washington so I get to see 1st hand what he does in the OR and how he treats his patients. He is very passionate about his work and his patients.

  5. I started my pre op on July 1 and am scheduled for surgery on July 17. My favorite Protein Shake is LaBrada "cookies and crime" it is delicious. 40 grams of Protein 3 x a day. I bought a Tervis water bottle that hols 20 ounces and I fill it up at least 4 x a day and add crystal light to at least one of the fill ups. I am now on day 6 and my family brought home Arby's and I took a small bite and licked the horse radish sauce off the edge of the packet and felt guilty afterwards. U know it may all be in my head but I think it made me hungry because I have not been hungry at all until now. It made my stomach growl. No more cheating.

  6. I quit smoking on Dec. 23, 2011 and was not even thinking of the surgery. Of course I gained 10 lbs since then but I breathe better and my clothes and hair do not "stink" anymore. I quit cold turkey and really have not any problems. Quitting was a good decision just like deciding to go for the sleeve on July 17th. Excited and a little scared but it is going to be a wonderful new beginning . Good luck to u all on the surgery and kicking the habit for good.
