I love the blenderized tuna fish salad as well as the blenderized egg salad! So yummy! You can blend a half cup of nonfat refriend Beans with a bit of chopped onion and then microwave a lil reduced-fat shredded cheese on top it...sooo good and it has a lot of protein! Good luck!

Thank you everyone!!! It's been a week today and I am so happy I did this! I am drinking, swallowing pills with ease and eating alittle (pudding and jello) and I am LOSING!!! I had a very easy time with the whole experience. I came home the day after surgery and have been able to sleep on my tummy from the thrid night on without any pain. Each day is getting easier!

ChristineS NY reacted to cacilluf in ".... But You're Not That Big"
Ok, so I go to my surgeon's support group and last night someone said something that struck me emotionally. A lady was talking about how she wants the sleeve and her husband, who was with her, was against it. After she was done talking another lady, who also didn't have the sleeve yet, said ".... but you're not that big".
Seriously???? We're at a sleeve support group and you bring that out??? Yes, the lady who said that was larger than the one with the unsupportive husband, and I think that maybe this lady was just trying to make the other feel better (compliment??), but I got so emotional and had to call the lady out on what she said.
I was told alot by friends and family that they didn't think I was big enough. I'm sure they thought of it as a compliment but really it hurt because I could never talk to them about the sleeve beyond their accusation of my size. I was 290 before I got sleeved and had tried and tried and tried and wanted to be able to diet and exercise SO BAD but I couldn't do it mentally. I came to the conclusion to do it for ME because I KNEW I needed a tool to help me, and asking for help is NOT a sign of weakness. Its a very personal decision that everyone makes to have it, and to hear someone say "you're not that big" now not only hurts but pisses me off.
So I guess what I'm saying is for people who may not be 350+ or who wear it well, don't listen to the ignorance when people try to tell you you don't need the surgery when you know in your heart that it is the right decision for you.

I know this feeling all too well. I think the people that say this to us mean well but it hurts just the same. Now that i have lost almost 90 pounds, they say things like "I didnt realize you were that big" or "but you werent that big", etc. Those comments belittle my accomplishments. It makes me feel bad like I didnt deserve this second chance because I hadnt done as much damage to my body as others have or let myself get as large as others did. Its a personal decision to have this tool and to become healthy. I dont care what size you start out, the outcome of living a healthy life is whats important. Whether you have to lose 100 pounds or 200 or 300, it shouldnt matter. The journey to get healthy is the same, we go though the same trials and tribulations and we should not be belittled or made to feel that we dont deserve any help or that our accomplishments are somehow lessened by our starting weight. I have been on a diet for 20 years and if diet and exercise worked by itself, I wouldnt have been 100 pounds overweight and feel yucky all the time. I am proud of my 90 pound loss and I am still working at it to lose the other 12. We should all be supporting each other, not downgrading the ones with less to lose with these hurtful comments, especially at a support group. Everyone should feel supported that we all understand what the others are going through and starting weight should not be a factor.

I had my surgery on March 8th.
I am down a little over 70 pounds which is actually not really hitting me yet.
Here is what I have jumped for joy over.
My scale will never hit the dreaded 300 mark again.
It will also not hit 250. I have not been under 250 since my early 20's
Bigger victories?
I am no longer on ANY medication. supplements are the only thing I NEED.
No more arthritis pain. NONE...EVER
No more CPAP machine....and my kids are not afraid I am going to die in my sleep!
No more antacids. No more blood pressure meds
NONE!!! All erased from my life.
YAY!
Silly things to many that make me smile
I ran 2 miles...and lived to tell about it...I did not even FEEL like I was going to die.
My dog LOVES her 3 walks a day! (she has dropped a few pounds herself
I am saving a TON of money...just the amount I was spending on soda and Snacks for my home was ridiculous!
My kids are eating a better diet...hopefully they will not get my "fat" gene!
and the #1 Victory
Today my 1st pretty bra and pantie set was delivered and I can wear it proudly COMFORTABLY
I have not had a pretty bra since I was 13 YEARS OLD !!!!!
I feel FANTASTIC!

ChristineS NY reacted to IrishSoul in Sleeved On June 4Th!
Stayed one night in hospital. Was up and walking within 2 hours of surgery. Currently on 3 week liquid diet, week 4 is puréed, week 5 is diced and week 6 to be normal, with new portions etc.
I am living off of Protein shakes, low sodium broth, sf Jello and v8 juice and getting my 64 oz of H2O and at least 60 gm of Protein. So far so good!
Still using my spirometer and walking for 30 minutes a few times daily.
Feeling pretty good. I can lie down on back or side and sleep. Bowels are in good working order
Pain is minimum, but I don't want to rush my recovery. Staying the course and following doctors orders.
chewable multi Vitamins, chewable Calcium citrate and D wafers, B12 sublingual and taking anti reflux purple pill and another to reduce instances of gallbladder stones.
I HAVE NOT NEEDED MY DIABETES MEDS! Sugars are in check!
Only a couple days in, but very happy with surgery and where I am physically and emotionally.
Wish my ticker would show up on iPad!

Oh wow, I'm praying for you for sure! I have 2 friends in their early 30's that both had to have a mammo, but both came out benign masses. It may be something more common than we really hear about perhaps. Praying that's what this is
