  1. Hi everyone! Sorry it has taken me so long to do a post-op update. I got home Friday evening, went straight to bed. Saturday slept all day, then Sunday had an unexpected mini-family reunion at my new apartment. I am doing great! So blessed that God took care of me during this and is continuing to bless my healing process. I pray that all the July sleevers are also doing great and will be praying for those who are about to start this journey! Thank YOU all for your prayers and well wishes!

If you want to read about my experience with Dr. Almanza, here's my post - and I will be happy to answer any questions for you!

  2. I will be flying into San Diego this afternoon and will be going in for my surgery tomorrow in Tijuana. Thank you to everyone who has provided me support thus far. I can't wait to be a part of the loser's bench and help others know what to expect from this life-changing event! :) Please say prayers for a smooth surgery and recovery! I will post when I can!

    Hugs,

    Gena'

  3. Quality of life. THATS IT. I'm also fit as a fiddle, just 100lbs overweight. Im quite short so that is a lot on my frame. I hate that my feet hurt all the time and I am always out of breath, can't climb a ladder, the Water in the bath gets stuck behind/ in front of me, and that' the small kids I teach can run rings around me. Can't WAIT for these things to end. Oh and it would be nice if I was more confident and not always hiding away being the token fat girl so I could meet someone meaningful. ONWARD AND DOWNWARD!

Hope all is well, Smoggy --- in my thoughts and prayers!

  4. fyi i think the worst was where they placed my IV--not comfortable -inside of wrist. Second worst was the taste of the throat spray they used to numb. and I think I ate a bad lunch choice, cause my throat was still numb or something and now my throat is a little sore from the spaghetti sauce in my lasagne lol.. but oh well. I made it through...now I'm more worried about Monday..that's when the really scary stuff happens..the actual surgery!

I know, Patrick, I am starting to get a little nervous now!!!!!
