    1 Year Later :)

Wow - You look great! I hope I can be saying the same thing this time next year! Thanks for your post to all us pre-oppers!
  8. Thanks everyone, trying to think all of this through. Something that was so simple is now going to be a big change in my life!
  9. Hi everyone, I am wondering if you could give me some advice about eating out after surgery. By the time I go back to work, I will be cleared for regular foods and in my job, we eat out daily for lunch. I know I will have to find a way to deal with this and of course I won't be able to eat a regular meal like I used to. In my family, everything has always revolved around the next meal. How have you all handled social dinners with friends and family that might not know that you had surgery? Thanks!
  10. Thanks... great advice...
  11. Yes, I will definitely use the "special diet" and ordering soups is a great idea! Thanks!
  12. Unfortunately, that is the case 95% of the time. We are all over the city, so lunch is very unpredictable and never at the same time every day. Also, I do not always have access to a refrigerator since our locations are always changing. No matter what, I think I will still be saving some money after having the surgery, which is always good!

    This Will Happen To You!

Thank you so much for sharing this with us all. As it's getting closer and I am saving all this money each month to pay for this surgery, it's reassuring to me that I am making the best decision for me and my life. Reinventing myself. Making a commitment to myself for health and happiness. I look at my savings and try to not feel guilty for spending the money on me when it can go toward my next goal of financial freedom. One step at a time. I will finally be free of my unhealthy addiction/attachment to food. Right now - that's sounds like a great way to be free!!! July 3rd... My independence day. Can't wait for my size 12's.
  14. I am scheduled to be sleeved in July and can't express how excited I am to begin my new life. I was wondering what all of you did to prepare yourself for surgery. I would like to try and lose some weight before July... any advice? I gave up sodas about 3 weeks ago - I was totally addicted. I am trying to get rid of all the food in my house that I will not need. My motivation to get up and exercise is not anywhere in sight, but I do plan on beginning to walk every day for at least 30 minutes. Diet wise ---- I think it would be a good idea to try and start cutting out carbs (I am as addicted to them as I was soda!). Any other ideas would be great! Thanks everyone - just reading through these forums the last couple of months has helped me more than anything! Just waiting to get on the losers bench. Gena'

    Preparing To Prepare

I am, too! I know that the drinking thing will be hard for me. Definitely great advice for someone like me! Is it looking like you will be an August/September sleever? Good luck!

    Preparing To Prepare

Yes, it helps me by just not having the "junk" in the house! Carbs are the hardest for me, so I'd like to try and wean myself a bit in the next few weeks before I start the pre-op diet. I guess I will just try and follow a "South Beach-ish" diet starting soon so I can up my Protein and veggies. Good luck sleeve sister! Where are you having it done? I am July 3rd in Tijuana.

    Preparing To Prepare

Hi Kathy, I hope it goes by quickly! Yes, I have to do a 5 day pre-op diet that is Clear liquids only. I am trying to make small changes now so I don't feel so deprived at once. One step at a time! Thanks for your reply!
  20. Omgosh...it was like Christmas! Box after box and after I was done, I wanted to go into surgery tomorrow! I cannot wait to wear all those clothes again. We will NOT gain it back this time, girl - this time it's FOREVER! Health and happiness - just like we deserve!!!!
  21. I just went through my closet last night. I have *piles* of clothes in every size from 12-20 - all of which I cannot get into (YET!). I have been carrying them around for years through every move because I just couldnt let them go. Sick, I know. Now, I am kinda glad I didnt! I get sleeved in July and hopefully after every size is too big, I can give them away to someone else who needs them on their journey! Can't wait! :0) Other than that, I LOVE garage sales, thrift stores, and have found some on Craigslist from another girl who had lost a lot of weight. You will get through it!
