I don't think you should feel guilty about not telling your co-workers everything. It's a personal decision and they don't need to know. I think your explanation of having your band removed is just fine. JMHO.

When I get low blood sugar I drink a cup of skim milk and it brings it right back quickly. It's liquid and it has enough carbs and it has Protein so I get extra protein in.

June 4th surgery , went for one month check up yesturday im down 45lbs!!! June has the best sleevers....

Sleeved on the 13th and doing great. Like Karen74 I was losing a couple pounds a day up front but that has slowed as I expected it would. I'm still losing although slower which is fine for me. I know i'm dropping weight and that's what's important. I didn't gain 2lbs a day so I don't expect to keep up that pace in losing it. Between pre-op and post op I'm down 46lbs which is a ton more than I could have done on my own in this period of time. I'm seeing plenty of NSV's and couldn't be happier.

I'm VERY glad it is just confusion and NOT you having to deal with getting another surgery! Woohoo!

MinaT, I am so sorry that you have gone through so much. I am truly sorry for the loss of your friend and your pet. How can you NOT be grouchy? You have gone through so much! Don't be down on yourself if you DO get cranky. All things considered, you are doing a very great job dealing with it all! You have had complications that you are moving past. You have dealt with personal tragedy. That is a LOT! Each day, I pray, will continue to get better physically AND emotionally for you.
I am exactly 1 week out today. I have my first follow up appointment today. I get to start full liquids. I can say, with complete honesty, that I haven't really felt any true hunger. I have to admit that makes getting my Protein Drinks and Water in VERY hard. I guess I am going to have to set myself an alarm or something to just eat (ok, drink) when I need to because otherwise, I will NEVER hit my Protein goals. I am already struggling to get my fluids in, but that improves daily. I know we aren't really supposed to be worried about weight this early, but I did weigh myself. I haven't lost anything but the fluids I gained in the hospital from the IV bags. That is a little discouraging. I decided to measure myself, and I have lost some inches in places. My belly is still very swollen though.

Ok.... So it seems as though my port actually is out!!! I felt a knot and thought it was there, but it's just scar tissue!! I'm sorry I seem to have created a rant on here! I have been assured there is no more port! It didn't show them removing it during surgery, but it never really showed the attached port either (I only saw the tube that hooked to the band), so my mind just went kinda wild! Again, sorry for the confusion! And thank you for the support when I really genuinely thought it was still in there!

It's a non scale victory. Climbing a flight of stairs without getting out of breath, fitting into an old shirt that hasn't fit in years, having someone comment on how good you look, having the energy to do something that you haven't been able to do in years,
etc... all non scale victories.

I know your question wasn't to me, but... . I was revised from band to sleeve on the 28th, it is definitely better day by day. I'm still working my way up to getting my fluids in. That seems to also be easier every day.

I was 186 day of surgery and 177 as of this AM, 4 weeks out. I've always been a slow loser and so I'm not too surprised tho part of me would like to see bigger -#s.
I don't know where I'll end up tho. Just want to lose. I figured I was stuck w/my ill-working, full of issues band so to be able to revise was a [pleasant] surprise for me. I'll take a pound a week if that's all I get.

This was the same plan as me and I tolerated the puréed black bean Soup and quarter cup of a mashed potato really well! And let me tell u I feel sooo much better now. It really helped calm my head hunger!

I would still contact the surgeon. They should pay for the removal AND the cost of the plane ticket to get it done. Or better yet, demand they pay for you to have it removed locally. I'm not sure how easy that will be since you are dealing with Mexico, but tell them if they don't pay for it, you will make it known to the world about their error. Tell them you're on these forums. They know a lot of people get their referrals from these forums and I would think they wouldn't want their reputation smeared all over the boards. Just a thought. I'm so sorry you are dealing with this!

LMAO!!! Yup! I know the feeling EXACTLY!! I was saying the same thing up to a few days ago. It took a long time for me to be able to pass gas and when I finally could I was ecstatic.

With all this gas floating in my abdomen you have no idea how good some flatulence feels lol.
Wonder if I couldve made soda with it since it's mostly co2 lol.

Mmmmm I would LOVE some pureed Beans...or mashed potatoes. OMG!!! I've got another week and a half to go. I hope I make it!
I think my taste buds are changing too, though. I find that I don't really like any Protein shakes, when before surgery they weren't a problem. Right now, I'm drinking the EAS shakes and they are tolerable. But I long for the day when I can eat other sources of Protein cuz these shakes are for the birds man!!! Whoo!!!

It sounds very strange. No one that I know that is a revision still has their port. I would definitely question the doctor about why it wasn't taken out when they took out the band.

But oh so funny.
I was walking down the main street of town yesterday lunchtime on my way back to the office and suddenly started to feel awkward. I thought my skirt had twisted but as I reached down I grabbed it just before it fell past my knees. One second more it would have been around my ankles!
A ducked into a shop where the salesperson helped me out with a safety pin and a lot of laughter!
