    Anticipating A Denial

Okay... I called this morning and the insurance has received the paperwork. Keeping my fingers crossed.
  2. I read a lot on here that when people go back to work about 2-4 weeks after surgery they suffer from being tired. Is it a foggy can't concentrate tired? Physically tired? That 2:00 in the afternoon feeling tired? Or fighting to keep my eyes open tired?

    Anticipating A Denial

I called the insurance company (Delta) and they said the drs office had to call the physicians line at Anthem. They would not give me a customer service number. I broke down and called the surgeons office (even though they ask patients not to in their intake paperwork) and they said they hadn't heard anything but did provide me with number. SOOoooo I called Anthem and they say they have no paperwork on me!!! Aaaggghhh!!! I call the surgeons office back and they swear they faxed the auth request 3 weeks ago :( I'm so upset. I have waited so patiently and have been stressing so much. Now it starts all over this is really driving me crazy

    Any Fresno, Ca Sleevers?

Awesome. When did you have your surgery?
  5. I am so impatient. It has been two weeks since the surgeons office has submitted for approval and I haven't heard anything back. It's killing me. I just want to know.
  6. How bad/tired/weak/sore did you post op-ers feel for the first few weeks. I am planning on only taking two weeks off. Is this a sensible time. I have a desk job with lifting or strenuous physical activity. I may have to use vacation time. Looking for some honest opinions.
  7. If you did not tell your boss or coworkers about the surgery what was the reason you gave for needing time off and how long did you take off?

Hello- Add Me As A Friend!

How do you add someone as a friend?
  9. You look great! It is such a shame how it changes the way people treat you but it is so true. About 6 years ago I lost 50 lbs which didn't make me skinny but I looked "healthy". I totally noticed how people's treatment changed and after I gained the weight back I was back to being the girl nobody noticed. It's not even about sexual or flirtatious treatment either. People in general are just nicer to you. The one thing I looked forward too is being physically comfortable. I miss that. Oh! And can't wait for my feet and back to stop hurting either! Waiting, waiting, waiting.
  10. I am also healthy while being obese but do was my mother. She always got raving reviews from her drs that her lab work was always great, cholesterol was low and showed no signs of diabetes. Two years ago she had a minor heart attack and had three stents inserted and now fights with diabetes. I believe I may seem to have no complications from being obese but it's just a matter of time.
  11. How long did it take your insurance respond to the request for approval once submitted?
  12. Thanks Lgoz...... What was your excuse for the time off? What did you tell your boss?

  14. Hello Everyone, I am new to the site and have been reading along for over 3 months now. I have recently finished all necessary appts....physical, psych, and nut. My surgeons office will be submitting for auth so please wish me luck. I have scoured over pros and cons and know in general what to expect but what I want to know is what you think about the effects the surgery had on marriages? The divorce rate for Bariatric patients is above average. I am including my stats because I love reading others stats and would also love to hook up with a surgery buddy. I'm located in the central valley in California. Age: 37 Height: 5'2" (so many people leave this out ????) Current weight: 210 Surgery weight: we will see Goal weight: 140 Can't wait to be part of the losers bench! You have all been such an inspiration already! -BoBann

    Here We Go!

I'm only asking about the marriage issues because my husbands last marriage ended a year after his last wife had WLS surgery. He is totally supportive but the closer I get he seems a little more nervous. I feel for him because he is stuck in the middle sorta speak. His family is kinda like "didn't you learn your lesson the first time?" it's unfair to him and me. I'm a totally different person than his exwife and I strongly feel that our marriage is solid. He has admitted to having some nervous feelings. Everyone else surrounding him who know the details of his divorce all blame the surgery and say his wife totally changed. Has anyone else experienced a "total change" in personality either themselves or in others who have had the surgery? The psych says it it doesn't happen but I want to get other points of view.

Nice to meet you Betterthanbefore Truth be told I would love to be 125. I just feel greedy for wanting that low of weight. I can't remember ever being 125. In high school I started at 130 and by the time I graduated I was 150.
