Hi guys I have the same problem. I can't get out the 200's. I was 204 went up to 208 back down to 206 . My nut told me to raise my calories to 1200. I was only doing between 800 - 1000. I don't eat a lot of starches or breads so I can't figure out what is wrong

So I started off weighing 324, then after pre op diet I weighed 307 at surgery on 4/30. It's been a little over 2 months and I got down to 263 and now I'm gaining it back because I now weigh 266. It's not that time of the month and I average about 800-900 calories a day. What is wrong?

I dont know who posted this but I came across this recipe and tonight I made it and it is soo yummy!
I take 1/2 cup of Fat Free Kraft Shredded Chedder cheese and 4 Tbsp of Parmasan Cheese and blend it in a food processor until its pretty fine tiny chunks almost powder like. I personally take a cookie sheet, cover it with foil and spray it with butter flavored pam but you can use any nonstick surface baking sheet or whatever. Take scoops of 1tsp each and press into little flat circles onto pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.
    Yields 24 crisps = 4.2 oz cheese
    170 calories, 6 fat, 0 sugar, 4 carbs, 26 Protein in 24 crisps!
    Enjoy

Congratulations on your surgery date! This is a very exciting time for you and we are all here to support you in your success! I agree with the list of foods above and would also add sugar free popcicles and werthers caramel candy. As for Protein Shakes, I really like Premier Protein chocolate - it sort of tastes like chocolate milk. During your soft/pureed foods stage, I recommend getting some food from www.blossomfoods.com. They make 5 oz containers of frozen pureed foods that have a good amount of Protein and only 150 - 180 calories. They are the perfect size for your smaller stomach. Even though I can eat anything I want, I still eat the shakes and blossom foods because they are easy and convenient. Later as you graduate to solid foods, Zone Perfect makes a pretty good Protein Bar in strawberry. I write a lot about my journey and emotions in my blog so please feel free to stop by and read it. You will realize that the feelings you are having are normal and we all go through them. In a nutshell here is what happens:

You are excited about the surgery
    You are scared and worried
You think you shouldn't have the surgery because you know you can lose all this weight all by yourself even though you haven't done it yet
A day or two before surgery you are anxious and worried about complications and things going wrong
After surgery you are in pain and can't eat much at all and you wonder if you made the wrong decision
You discover that the pain from the surgery is nothing compared to the gas pain (who knew?)
The pain gets better each day and you feel better than the day before each day.
A month after surgery you have lost some weight and are excited about your new life
Then the stall hits and lasts a while and you wonder if you will ever lose another pound
Once you get over your stall you are relieved

Sorry to ramble on but I know that the one thing that got me through the surgery was knowing what to expect and knowing how I was going to feel before I felt it

    I love your enthusiasm. I was super organized pre-op too. I had a little brown book I wrote questions in and a folder that I kept everything in. I had lists of food etc;
I'm 6 weeks post-op and life has settled in and unfortunately my organization has fallen off. I think life takes over. Post-op it's an emotional, mental and physical recovery. I think my frustration with the stages threw me off track. LOL
However, keep it up I applaud your efforts!!

phatdivabbw got a reaction from MyGastricSleeveLife in I Ate Tuna Tonight--Stage 3 Here I Come!
I was suppose to start Stage 3 on Saturday. I went shopping for the family tonight and when I got to the Soup aisle I felt depressed. I just couldn't do another day of pureed Soup for dinner. Last night I barely ate it. So I purchased a can of seasoned lemon pepper tuna. I mashed it up well with my fork and all I had in the fridge was regular mayo (I have to buy LF) and mixed a little in. I was nervous as heck! I put a very small amount in my mouth and chewed at least 40 times until it was gone. Not very much to swallow. I didn't eat much because I'm nervous. I see my NUT tomorrow and she officially gives me the clearance. I'm so excited. Scared but excited.
TMI: I have cramps so I'm also like is that a pain in my sleeve. I think if I didn't tolerate it I would probably vomit. Right? Fortunately I didn't and I don't feel nauseous.

Cream of wheat has been a staple on my 3 weeks of Stage 2. I also make my own concotions and puree it really well. Although it looks bad it tastes so good.
I made a pot of green Beans with smoked turkey and pureed with chicken broth. Also sweet potatoes and mashed potatoes but don't eat them thick make sure they are soupy. U can use cinnamon and splenda brown sugar. I'm allowed to use I can't Believe It's Not Butter and that has been a lifesaver too.

    Hi guys!
I went under the knife on May 7th at a surgery weight of 242. My one month anniversary was yesterday and I weighed in at 219 for a 23 pound loss. I guess I'm "normal."
For all of you waiting for their first scrambled egg, I felt the same way and let me tell you it didn't disappoint. Every day since then has been better than the last.

I have made both the taco and lasagna cupcakes. I liked the lasagna ones a little more (i may be biased living in tucson) but they were both awesome!
Congrats to all the May Sleevers!

Keep looking for the right doctor. Dr. Nusbaum in NJ performed my surgery. My BMI was 79.3, I weighed 448lbs, I didn't have to do a Pre-Op diet or lose weight before my surgery.
Good Luck to you. If you want the information for my doctor let me know. I am 3 weeks post op and down to 420.

Just remind yourself how sad you will be if you cause a leak at your staple line. NO BUENO! Then they will have to go back in. Give you new inscions to fix the damage or worse you could rupture your banana size stomach. Think of the pain and unnecessary complication you are causing yourself.
I'm sorry to be so blunt but that's what keeps me in check. I was afraid of dying going into surgery and I'm still afraid of doing something wrong post-op!
    Super Tight Hugs!!

After nearly 4 years w/the band, I'm used to it now. You'll adjust. Just FYI some meats and veggies are just going to take a lot of work. Pork, steak and fibrous foods are a pain. I've stopped eating a lot of meat just because of that. Just can't get it chewed enough or it's nasty by the time I do.
Just a thought. Even NON-WLS people do not chew their food enough. I didn't realize how bad of an eater I was in that respect until I became conscious of how I eat. I was pretty much NOT chewing my food! Become conscious of HOW you eat as well as WHAT you eat. Slow down and enjoy the food. Especially now that there is a lot less of it!

Exercise! Exercise! Cardio and Strength Training. Hire a personal trainer. Make sure it's one that is familar with WLS. Most experts say pick different days to do both but WLS folks should incorporate both everyday and of course walk, walk, walk. I'm two weeks out and started to trip because my thighs were getting the jiggle. ( I could feel it too.) I'm bottom heavy so it's mulitplied x2. I asked my surgeon if I could start working out and I was given the green light excluding weights (lifting anything 25 pounds or more)
I know being a gym rat isn't at the top of everyone's to-do list but it's so important. It will at least minimize some of the sagging skin. Good Luck!
