    December 2013 Sleevers Come In!

I was sleeved on December 20th. I've been home since the 23rd and am getting my strength back more and more every day. I've lost a total of 30lbs since I started the pre-op liquid diet; 17 lbs since I was sleeved and a total of 67lbs since I began this journey. So excited to finally be on this side of being sleeved and can't wait to see what my future holds in store for me. Question: is anyone else having a hard time getting all their protien and a total of 64 oz fluid in every day? (I know the shakes count as some of the required fluids but I can't get anywhere near 64 oz of anything in in a day) I was excited today for the sad fact that I was able to drink an entire protien shake (only took 6 hours to drink one 14oz shake, ugh) but after geting that down I don't have room for water or crystal light. Is this normal this early in my journey? Also, I have a TON of food allergies and have unfortunately figured out that I'm allergic to the powdered protien mixes so I can't mix unflavored protien into my water/crystal light. Any ideas?

    Scared

I say don't worry about what people around you think. There is always going to be someone out there that is jealous or that just doesn't understand. If they are truly your friend they will stand by you and support you in this exciting journey. Remember you are doing this for yourself !!! YOU DESERVE THIS!!!!
  7. I started the process of meeting with all the doctors ie: psych, dietary, sleep, primary care, exercize therapy, and GI today. Today I met with the psych doctor and I am scared to death that he won't sign off on the form for the surgeon. I have Tricare so I am stuck with military psych doctors. The one that I was assigned to said that he had never done an interview for one of these referrals before so he wasn't real sure what he needed to do. He wanted to get into my personal life, my marriage and everything. He wouldn't sign the form until he talks to the surgeon. What happens if one of the docs won't sign off? Am I just out of luck or can I demand a second opinion? Has anyone else ran into this situation? I am not going to be a happy camper if a psych doctor is the reason that I can't get this procedure done!!!
  8. I have never joined a discussion board before so I'm not really sure what to say except "HI". I am beginning my journey to have my sleeve procedure done and am learning so much about myself in the process. I have struggled with weight since the birth of my children and wondered why I could loose weight but could never keep it off. I was SOO scared to ask my doctor about this procedure at first but once I did she almost seemed happy that I did. My doctors have helped me realize that I am not alone in this constant battle and that there is help out there. So far I have only attended the required seminar but have scheduled appointments for my upper GI, psych, dietary and sleep study. I am only waiting on the referral to exercise therapy to go thru at this point, kinda hurry up and wait thing I guess. I have been doing so much research on this procedure and have yet to find anyone that is sorry that they had the procedure done. I can't wait to get my sleeve and start seeing the results that you all see.
