Update....
I had my 1week post-op today. Feeling good, Dr said everything looks good. I've lost 12 pounds since starting the pre-op diet. He cleared me to move to the puréed stage; scrambled egg, cottage cheese, very thin sliced deli meat, banana. Can't wait. Sick of broth, pudding and yogurt. Still get tired easily, Dr said it can take 4-6 weeks to get your energy back. However, I can say that I feel like I've turned a corner and am feeling pretty damn good.

i finally got the approval late Friday, by calling the insurance company.
now i'm waiting on the surgeon's office to schedule me. and, yes, i called them Friday and today.
one more hurdle....

My date is 11/24 (Got my date 1 hour ago). I am both nervous and excited. I will be having my gallbladder removed at the same time. I will start my liquid diet 2 days before surgery. ~ Colorado

Ahhhhhh!!! Today I received my approval and my surgery date of 11/13 ...I've been struggling with insurance for 3 long weeks plus a 6 month physician assisted weight loss....I can't believe it's almost here!!!

I'm also having a hiatal hernia repair done with my surgery on 11/10. I asked my surgeon if I would be in more pain, etc due to that but he said I shouldn't be. The only issue may be swallowing? I guess due to swelling maybe.

I have my pre-op class on 10/29 I only have to do my pre-op diet for 3 days so my surgery is on Monday. I only have to worry about Friday at work otherwise I can go to sleep over the weekend if I get too hungry.

Just started my pre op diet today after finishing my pre op labs! So they did another blood test, urine test, an ecg, and I went over more information with the nurse. They told me to start the pre op liquid diet immediately.
Its was day earlier than I thought it would be and I had a girl's night planned at my house tonight. I was thinking in my head it would be OK to just start tomorrow. .. then I changed my mind. This is it! Thats the old me and my old way of thinking. I don't need to delay it with another excuse like girl's night! I am super excited still about starting my new life so i think that helped me breeze through today. Plus all my friends that came over tonight were really supportive and didn't mind it. It was a good first day at least

Ok I got the approval today.. I have to call in the morning to get my surgery date.. It only took 3 business days!!!
