  6. hello, I am scheduled for my surgery on 3/27. I am so pumped, I can't sleep, nor can I sit still I am so ready for this. I have made a few promises to myself. I was wondering if anyone has promises they are trying to keep?? -I promise to put the best food, meaning nutritional and organic, into my body. -I promise to not abuse my body. -I promise to enjoy life and be more active. -I promise to nurture my body and soul. -I promise to embrase those I love.
  7. Well on the bright side exercise is really part of the formula for success. So even of it doesn't help, it sure won't hurt.

    Operation Skinny Jeans

Wow what a great story. It's amazing how it takes years for some of to realize how much we really need this. It took me a while to finally decide that I needed this. Talk about denial. Anyhow the important thing is that we finally did realize. Congrats on your weight loss. Keep up the good work. Remember to take pictures of your journey. 6 days and counting, until my big day.

Well I have bcbs IL and I'm pretty sure they have the same process an bcbs IL bought out bcbs tx a few years ago. You will more than likely have to do the supervised 6 month weight loss program. My advice is if you don't already have it start it now. You do have to attend the physicians office @ least once a month. FYI my process got delayed 6 months because I had to do the 6 month diet all over because I mentioned at one of my visits during the supervised weightloss, that I wasn't able to make it to the gym. It may seem like a lot, but don't get overwhelmed. It can be a smooth process if the correct steps are taken. 14 years working history as a medical insurance coordinator.

    So Excited

A girl @ my support group meeting recommended the isopure protein drinks w/40 protein. She said that she put 1/2 a bottle and mixed it with water, then she topped it off with a bunch of ice, so she said she felt like it was flavored water. Maybe as you progress you can try it.

Well I am also on a pre-op low carb diet. For breakfast I'll usually have some sauteed mushrooms with 1 or 2 eggs. Some Snacks that I've been having is string cheese, pumpkin seeds. I did go to wendys and I has a chili. salad is good just make sure you get a light vinagrette dressing, and no croutons. I do drink the atkins shakes they are pretty good, as a matter of fact my son has been drinking them all. For dinner just have meat and veggies. Well I am also on a pre-op low carb diet. Well I've only been to one meeting, but there were support people there, and just random people. So I don't think it is a big deal if you show up. I will be going to the April meeting, I will only be 1 week post op, but I'm sure it won't be a problem. Hopefully you can make it.

You know I was really hoping that there would be going on here. I've had a few idea's that I thought would be excellent. I was reading an article in a magazine about women coming up with innovatve ways to overcome the ressesion. One of the popular things was a clothing exchange. They set up changing areas and had full size mirrors. So not only did they bring clothes that they no longer wore, but they also brought accessories, purses, and shoes. I thought that would be great for WLS patients. So I'd love to try to get together a group of ladies and try to execute this. Also physical activity, with spring here and summer approaching, I thought it would be cool to kind of get an activity group togather, and maybe try different things. Some of the things I'm interested in doing are tennis lessons, kayak lessons, walking, biking.
