WOW we have so much in common. I also was banded on July 9th and have a 14cc port (and in TX, Houston area)
Domika,I have discomfort with my port also. I can always feel it. Sometimes I feel pain but mostly just that its there. Itchy, pressure, etc. I do bump it a lot. I was told by my unit that a lot can effect your port. Air travel, weather, some people say heat can tighten the band, stress...we all have that, eh?...so many things. The most pain I had was 2wks after surgery when I decided to clean the house. WOW! I really messed myself up for about a week.

Aint it great??? Lost 30lbs so far. Went on vacation, several weeks ago, went into my closet, and had the family laughing so hard. I looked like BOZZO in the pants I tried on. Shorts at the beginning of the summer that I could not begin to close, I now can get my hand down the front.
Feel so good! Congrats all you bandits!

I've lost 18lbs since pre-op and surgery a week ago, can't wait to go shopping in my closet, I think I will try this weekend!!!

Well, this is the same scenario. I was banded on the 6th of July. I was just reading horror stories about surgery. Mine was really quite wam, bam, thank you mam. After wards I did have some discomfort. One week, think it was about 3, my post started to really hurt me. But that was due to my stupidity of trying to do housework. And as far as drastically changing my life? No, I would not say that yet. I have lost, not alot but Dr. says I am right on track. Have had 2 fills so far. I can eat anything.

I would talk to your doc about the medication because it might not be the right medication for you.
I have had a couple of family members that went on it and had to be taken off, one was my Mom who it just made her (bat **** crazy)she did not even know my sister and I... Lucky that another doctor pulled her right off it and the DOC himself had been put on it as a patient and had to be removed due to symptoms where his family said he was acting extremely upset/disoriented/didn't know his family etc.
We keep Klonopin around the house which is good and I know alot of people that take it for anxiety which I do, so does my husband and my sister. I just take it here and there but not on a daily basis.
We also try to meditate, nothing freaky or wild but just to try to balance out life and stress and IF i can't sleep then i take one of the pills. It just calms my brain so I can sleep, but yet you can function on it. Good luck!

No one should scold you about this. I take the generic brand and I am five weeks banded. I have no problems and my surgeon knows I take it and never said anything about it. I don't know if you are expecting people to criticize you for taking the med or if you are worried that they will tell you to suck it up, but I know I have been having very severe panic attacks since I was very little and it is not just something you can suck up. My dr tells me to take the meds right when I get a twinge of that kind of anxiety. Don't wait till it is a full blown panic attack. You can send me a message any time.

I also have five (three tiny ones and two that are a bit bigger. One below my breastbone, two tiny ones on each side, one larger one near my belly button, and the largest one is for my port.

I have 5... Four little ones around the middle of my belly and the large one is across the top of my belly button...like almost inside.

Now I'm worried!! I have one in my belly button! Lol

Same here, but I was told ahead of time where the they would be.

I have six incisions none near my belly button

There are 5 total. 2 on the left side. 1 on the right. 1 just under where your bra would sit. And the largest 1 about 2in below that. None near the belly button.

just got banded today! home already and feeling GREAT. everyone who hasn't been banded yet, it is so much less scary than all my expectations and i'm feeling very minimal pain and gas. I'M SO EXCITED FOR ALL OF YOU NOW!!! I can already tell this is a great decision for me! Good luck to you all!

I am with Kathie. I feel the same way. It is affecting my mood. Really moody and anxious.

Mine is Tuesday the 3rd, less than 48 hours!!! I'm scared but excited as well, more afraid of the pain after then the actual procedure itself. But some folks say its not to bad.
I am so lucky, my friends had a pool party for me yesterday, even though I could not enjoy cocktails with them and stuff from the grill. The overwhemling support they showed me brought tears to my eyes. I am a lucky guy.

I have a confession to make?!......I am a yankee But for the last 5 years I have lived in TX! AND I love you TX peeps! Please dont hold it against me. I got here as soon as I could!
