    Jealous Friends

I have had a jealous friend moment. Someone who I thought understood a little better what wls patients go through, or at least would not use it to belittle me. We were out having a good time together, when she started talking about her weight. She wanted to lose 30 pounds, so she could go from her size 10s to her size 6s that she fit in when she was 19 (she is 28). She actually said, "I've thought about going the easy way out like you, and having surgery. But decided I'd do it the right way instead." I was so flabbergasted! So many things wrong with what she said. Disrespectful to me, wrong information about who should consider or get wls, just to point out the obvisous two. Since that day, I've placed some distance between us. She is a friend still, but I don't trust her in confidence as I once would have, and I do not see her hardly at all. The sad part is, she probably doesn't even notice or know why.
  3. My first pair of goal pants fit, but are slightly big and kinda fall to my hips instead of sitting on my waist. The smallest I've been as an adult. I'm entering new territory from this point forward. Squee! OMG! ^.^

    Any Size 14s?

You know, there is a ton of humor in that statement to me.
  7. Let me check. I think at least one pair is petite. I am built weird. I'm 5'8, but have a 30 inseam and end up getting petite pants some times. I'll let you know tomorrow after I'm off work.
  8. Well... I'm not really a store, so doing returns would be kinda hard for me to handle. I can tell you measurements of things and you can measure yourself to see how the fit would be?
  9. No I have not sold anything... what am I doing wrong? I mean... I'm not looking for tons of money... just a little for what I've put out so I can replace my clothes.

Has anyone ran a 99 degree fever 3 days out?

Yes, I did. If it goes any higher than that though, contact your doc asap!
  11. Walking down the hall way to my desk, our IT guy is walking behind me and says, "If you lose anymore weight, one day your clothes are gonna just fall right off!" He is referencing my now too big size 16s I keep wearing anyway. I smile, "And say I know. I need to go shopping. I have 40 more pounds to go before I'm done." As he turns down his row, he smirks, "Twig!" I laugh, and am torn between thinking, "ME!? A Twig!? What!? What. What?" and simply, "Thank you, for such a great compliment!" I am struggling a lot with percetion. I am struggling to see my new self. When I lookin the mirror, am I smaller? Yes, am I still chubby, and all I see is that chub? Yes. My boyfriend makes me feel small. He wraps his arms around me so tight now, its a wonderful feeling and I love it. When he hugged me the other day, I whispered, "This makes me feel small." He whispered back, "Thats because you are small." My brother in law hugged me on Thanksgiving, and yelled out, "Look at that! My arms go all the way around little girl!" I was flying high from happiness and embarassment. I'm now comfortably in as size 14 down from 20/22s. After this size, I'm entering into terriory I've not known as an adult, and frankly I'm excited and scared. My goal is to wear a size 10/11. I love being smaller, don't get me wrong. But, I most of the time still don't think that I am. I still think and feel most of the time, that I'm still size 20 me. I'm still ashamed and embarassed or worried that I look awful. My jeans are baggy, my coat is too big. My shoe size is smaller for heaven's sake... why can't I see and accept that I am smaller!? I'm less 75 pounds of me. Thats the size of a child! Recently, a coworker of mine, who knew I was getting surgery showed me a photo he took of me the day before my surgery. I didn't even recognize her. I was like, "That is me?" That person doesn't even register as me anymore. I'm exactly 7 months post op in two days. I've lost 75 pounds from my highest weight recorded in Febuary of 2011. Any of you struggle with this? What helped? Here is my before from my coworker, one I took the morning of surgery, and a picture I took just 2 weeks ago. This is the first time I've done a side by side.....

    Who's small?

Yes, I think some thrift store shopping will be happening this week. That is one of the things that I can not deny... my pants are too big. The jeans I am wearing, 7 months ago I could not wear at all, and now they're getting too baggy to wear any longer. That, is still bizarre, but it is something I can not deny.

    Who's small?

Hang in there! Have you talked with a nutritionist? She can help get you back on track. Sometimes, thats all we need is someone to help remind us that we can do this and remind us of the tools we have acess too.

    Who's small?

Thank you. i do exercise. I walk, hoop dance, lift weights, and just started working with kettle bells. I have "cheated", but I don't really consider it cheating anymore. I just remember everything in moderation, and I only let myself have this mini break from being really disaplined during Christmas time. And so far, I have not gained weight, only held steady for weeks at a time with no loss.

    Bread...?

I am one of those rare people I think, bread was ok with me at 5 months. But, I could only eat one (if that small slice). Stick to whole wheat, whole grain, or rye bread if you try it. There are some wraps from a company called, La Tortilla Factory that are low/no carb & high Fiber tortillas that my nutritionist recommended to me, and I love them. They're better for me than bread. I find them usually in Kroger's... don't know if you have those where you live. I think their website lets you store locate retailers that sell them. http://www.latortillafactory.com/

    Week 23 Post-Op

I should add that quite poignantly, that fortune was from my "last meal" at my favorite Vietnamese restaurant right before I started my liquid diet. It was like a little extra nudge that I made the right decision.

    Week 23 Post-Op

This has been true with me too! Nothing or little weight loss, and then boom! 3-5 pounds fall away.... I just keep going forward. As my fortune cookie I got (presurgery) told me, "Always remember where you are going and never forget where you've been."
  18. YES! I am so very excited!! I was unable to weigh myself for a while, and just went to the doctor to discover a jump in my loss. I'm so pleased! It's resparked my motivation.
  19. Ok... here I come onederland! I'm 13 pounds away from seeing you, and I SHALL get there!!

  20. I'm a Houston girl too!
  21. Had a great (1 month late) 6 month follow up visit with my doc. Doing great! And after my visit I am so amped up and removitvated to get the last 40 pounds off!

  22. Grrr.. my scale is broken!! I'm so frustrated. I have no idea what I weigh on my scale, before going to the doctor today. :P

  23. Ok... it seems folks are a little timid to do the make an offer thing. So... I'll do this instead ... Dresses & jeans $5 Skirts, pants, & tops $3 I will ship single items in bags to help it be cheaper for shipping, and if you want multiple items I can do an amazing job at squishing stuff into flat rate boxes. Hope this helps!
