I saw Dr. Kelly March 28. Great experience. I would definitely make the same choice again. I saw him in the hospital multiple times, and he came by the hotel several times as well. No complaints. Good luck.

I am currently up to one mile (walk/jog) on the treadmill. I'd love to do 3!! I will one day. :-) Congrats!!
Yes You Will!!

Congrats! And great post. We have to remain focused on ourselves. I know I reached my highest weights because I thought I wasn't worthy of that focus. But today, I make time for myself and my health. Everyone else in my life will benefit by proxy. : )

Hurray for NSV!With my walking exercise I made it up to 3 miles on my fast-pace walk! And it felt fantastic!!
I am three weeks post-op and due to surgery complications' date=' I had a 7-day hospital stay, and I still have a large hematoma on my left side!
So three miles may not seem like much of a victory, but for me it's excellent![/quote']
Suko, that's great! Even without complications, 3 miles for most of us IS a HUGE victory! Congrats and keep up the great work. I can only see it getting better for us

Thanks everyone. Best decision I've ever made for myself.

Well, I'm 6 wks out today and 31# down. 3 to share. 1. My son and I went hiking last weekend. I made it 3 miles on a difficult trail. A quarter of the way through at the top of a hill, my son stopped me and said " remember this spot? Its where you were out of breath and your ankles hurt so bad, I saw tears in your eyes. Now your keeping up with me." We finished at a very brisk pace this time.
2. He said he was proud of me
3. A patient asked why I'd had an MRI. As I was encouraging him through his PET scan. I told him I'd had a ministroke at age 37 due to being overweight and high BP. He looked me up and down and was surprised because he thought I looked "healthy"..
I still have 65# to lose, but its a start.

It's stretched out skin !! Working out can not help ! Working out can burn fat not stretched out skin .True, but building muscle beneath the skin CAN help fill some of the void left by the weight loss and decrease the looseness. Many here have been successful with this. It depends on many factors of course, and it won't fix it completely, merely decrease the problem.

Im just over 5 wks out. I hope to keep the cigarette aversion.

I have become addicted to sf popsicles since surgery. I have 1/2 almost every night. But occasionally, I want cold AND creamy. Here's another cool treat for this upcoming summer.. "Fit Freeze guilt free ice cream" w/ 15 grams of Protein, 150 cals, 8 Fiber, and 5 sugars for 1/2 cup.
It sells on Amazon. I get mine from my moms surgeon. I've only tried chocolate, but its good.

Yep. My sense of smell is very sensitive. Since surgery, I've never gone back to smoking or coffee because of it, and I have to rush my son to the shower when he comes in from fishing. It turns my stomach.

Im a nuclear med tech, went back day 10 postop.

It has been different for me. I've thrown up a few times. Several the day of surgery due to anesthesia, but it wasn't painful. It was quick and then I was up walking again. Twice since surgery..once because I ate too fast, once because I ate a bite too much. It feels like a full feeling at the bottom of my esophogus, a little cough and it was over. No pain, no retching. Felt better and fine afterwards.

I'm not worried about the 40 minute layover anymore. I made it around a traffic circle in TJ and that makes NYC look like cake. For me' date=' I haven't eaten now for 11 days (high BMI, this is my 11th day on liquids, 5th post op) and I've farted only 3 times but burp almost anytime I sip or move around a lot. Silent though and minimal pain.[/quote']
Lol...that's quite a feat huh? I finally figured out that if you start stepping out into the street, they WILL stop. That was an interesting traffic obstacle. They drive crazy.

A total loss of 24 lbs' date=' so far. It doesn't feel like much, in proportion to how much I have to lose but I know that in a couple more months, it will feel like more.
I'm also 5' 7".
With the exception of one day, I'm getting a minimum of 60g of Protein daily and getting at least 64 oz of Water a day. Often, I'm getting closer to 80+ oz of Water.< /p>

Sounds like you and I are right on. Not the fastest losses, but not bad either. Ill take it over the steady upward gain prior to surgery day. Congrats

The standard "3 wk stall". No worries. It can last a few days or even a couple of weeks, but you will get past it. Im 4 wks out and have been teetering with the same pound for a week now. Uping my Protein and cals a bit today. However, despite the scales determination not to move, I've lost up to 2 inches on most areas of my body. Good luck.

Wow! Congrats on your success. You look great. Quite a testimonial to what we can accomplish with this tool if we put in the work ourselves as well.
