  1. Motivation Tip: I don't know if this will work for everyone, but it certainly helped me today...

  2. Working through my negativity. Like I said, it's probably going to take some time/practice to tweak my thinking. However, I did attend my third Spin Class today... and that definitely boosted my morale!

  3. Confidence a little shaken... must be my negativity creeping in again. So much learning AND RETRAINING left to do. Wish I was a better student! :\

  4. Once a whiner, always a ...?? I decided to go for it and take the "before" pics of me in my skivvies! Well... first of all, no worries, I'm not posting the evidence, but I must admit after losing a little over 40 lbs. I feel far thinner than I look. And, quite honestly, looking at the pics really bummed me out tonight. :(

  5. Alrighty then!! At the end of my cool down in Spin Class my foot got stuck and I couldn't fully dismount... my shoe (with attached foot) got caught in the toe cage and I didn't know how to release the straps. Bahaha!

Back To The Gym- 10K Training.

I'm finally starting to run again, too. Well, "running" might be misleading... haha, but getting reacquainted is definitely true. Great job with taking on a 10k!! Best wishes! Keep us posted!

    Rip Mr Twinkie

    Lol! Cute.
  9. I was all smiles when I went on the "Carousel Of Happiness" this weekend. Somehow I just knew I wouldn't be kicked off or moved to another section due to my weight! I loved not having to make excuses as to why I couldn't ride. :)

    If This Doesn't Motivate...

Let it motivate, but seriously, don't be disgusted with yourself! Recently (prior to surgery) I gained 50 lbs. in less time, and I was already 50 lbs. overweight to begin with. It's okay... our bodies might be too darn efficient at hanging on to fat, but that doesn't mean we can't retrain 'em. Ha! Maybe our bodies are also fast learners. You can do this. And listen to A New Dawn... "We all have to start somewhere!"
  11. Tonsillitis or strep... or both?!! Poor me. I'm feeling kinda sorry for myself bc i feel so awful. If i'm not better by tomorrow i'm going to have to take my self-pay broken down body into the doctor. My throat pain is excrutiating. :( On a food positive note: you can't eat a lot if it hurts yt swallow!! :)

  12. About two years ago I decided to change my way of eating. Eating "clean" is how it's been described. Fresh fruits and vegetables, wholegrain, complex carbs, low fat Proteins, zero refined sugar, etc., etc. Basically prepackaged foods/meals were a no go. Shop the perimeter of the grocery store, and be mindful of how your food is cooked/prepared. In addition to eating healthier I worked out for 2-3 hours 5-6 days a week. Cardio for 60-90 minutes and strength training for about a hour. In eight months I lost 25 lbs. Well, good... right? I looked better. I felt better. Now fast forward to today... two weeks shy of two months post-op. Still "eating clean", finally up 90 minutes at the gym 4-5 days a week, eating smaller portions, but with lapband (no fill yet) I've dropped 33 lbs.! Don't tell me this is only a tool. It's my fricken LIFELINE!!! For anyone feeling anxious, doubtful, or scared... YOU CAN DO IT!! Best wishes.
  13. My weight loss is neither fast nor slow. It is what it is. I'm losing weight, feeling great, and trying to remain patient and THANKFUL!! I am eternally grateful for all the support I've been given here, on this forum, and from family and friends at home.

    Day 6 Post Banding

It's really rough for awhile. I was HUNGRY too! However, I also have that darn head hunger ... it's going to take some time for me to tame that beast. lol. Nonetheless, everyone tells me it WILL get better, and I believe them because every now and again I have "satisfied" days that produce a glimmer of hope for a controlled future. ha. You can do it! The rewards are too great to let the next several weeks stand in your way. Best wishes!

  19. I participated in my very first Zumba class! I was laugh out loud terrible, but my sweaty body didn't know that so... successfull workout afterall! :)

  20. Yesterday I actually got rid of a few clothes that are too big for me! Honestly, it was a weird feeling. I try really hard to be positive because I've been so dark and discouraged for so long, but I have to admit I was second-guessing myself the entire time I was purging clothes. The idea that I can get thin AND stay thin is beyond anything I've ever imagined in all my 40+ years. Dare to dream!!

  21. "Walkin' in a winter 'one'derland" ha. I made it to 198, my next goal (a biggie for me) is to get under 180! Haven't seen that number in a LONG time. Wish me wantPOWER! :)

  22. Omgosh... even calcium chews are my weakness! Lol! Monday's weigh in should prove interesting. ;)
