thanks for the birthday wishes everyone♥
  3. I think the patient can overeat excess calories and begin to regain weight and I also think the WLS can have issues and I also think the combination of patient and WLS surgery can also cause weight gain back. To gain weight, we must eat more calories than we can burn off. This is how I got super morbid obese. I wish the newer patients would not put so much (the WLS MUST work) while I dont change a thing attitude. Some are finding that WLS is not easy and its not a miracle. It will help the person but the person must also make changes. I know that as I am talking about myself.

whatever WLS one chooses to get...i so hope it brings them better health... as in life, results vary with everything (for whatever reason) all we can do is the best we can with what we have

    I'm Hungry

well, not sure why the (small amount) but it could be why you are still healing ok, so use Protein shakes, SF popsicles, start drinking/sipping more and def do something to stay busy and occupy your mind away from food (reading, walking, taking hot bath, sex if you can♥, shopping etc)...you may find after a Protein shake or some cold drink, the hunger may be just a way of saying you are thirsty...but ask your doctor about you getting in more protein as that is your fuel and will help with hunger... hang in there okay..hard part is over...your new life has begun

    Caffeine

the day i started my pre op was the last time i had diet soda (2 1/2 years ago)..dont miss it i also did the decaf during my 2 1/2 week pre op by order of my doctor.....after surgery, he said i could start again and did the half and half type thing..still do sometimes...i had a big headache for about 4 or 5 days (detoxing) from the soda and used tylenol to aid....it does get better...i agree with the poster who said its mind over matter...i wanted to have WLS to help me lose weight and i did what i had to do to make it happen...i lived on diet soda...but it was something *along with all carbonation* that i had to do.. you can do it..it is hard but it is doable.. good luck to you

I Have No Motivation That Pushes Me

when i had my surgery, i was so large i could hardly walk...walking to the bathroom was nearly impossible. i could not do anything.when i was at home, i marched in placed..2 minutes and i thought i was having a heart attack....at work, when i went to the bathroom, it was 84 steps one way. that was my exercise for about 6 months..i was so heavy, i could not do anything...the more i lost (due to me not being able to eat much) helped build my confidence..i started walking to the end of my driveway and back. thats it..and then i walked to the corner of the street...you dont have to run a marathon to lose weight..you just need to get your mind straight..so we have a weight problem..OK, we had WLS to help us..now we just have to help ourselves..somedays i dont wanna do anything but eat potato chips...my motivation is looking at my highest weight ever picture..and it was a 5x stretch skirt...i do not want to be that ever again..its either do or not...so you dont want to work out today....dont....just be careful with your calorie intake then...if you eat more calories than you burn off, you wont lose and may gain....so its vice versa....like @@finediva said...take a walk...walk down the hall and back........GREAT JOB if you do that...you can..yes you can....if you wanted to ♥

thanks for posting this B i have noticed even though i have (made my search for lap band) i see many sleeve/bypass threads on my view could be a reason some of us banders dont post as much... esp since we are the (outcasts and no one is having band surgeries anymore..)

    Band or Sleeve or Bypass

read up on the surgeries (all of them) to see what would be a good fit for you...remember any WLS works and none are better than the other no matter what anyone says.....WLS is a complete life (lifestyle) change and for best results, always do what the dr who operates on you advises.. unless you decide to eat better, exercise, no WLS will help.......people get one surgery, it dont work for them and off they go to another one......the person looking at oneself in the mirror is a HUGE reason a WLS can work or not work.......(granted some complication can and does happen on any WLS) but those are small risks in my opinion to gain a longer life. so if you want to be healthy and get healthy do it....but expect to do some work...

    Band or Sleeve or Bypass

to lose weight, bypass, sleeve, lap band, ds or whatever.. one must eat less calories than they burn off .....and only the person doing the eating, knows that answer and truth surfaces when one steps on the scale. a very small % have issues but ANY wls has issues/complications.. some people like to say their wls is best and proclaim it with zest but what i feel is 100% truth...no one wls is better than the other.....no matter what anyone says we should all do what works for us....and use it as the dr advised for best results

  21. i have tricare prime north at the time of my surgery, tricare did not cover the sleeve i was too scared to have the bypass (being super morbid obese and still vain) and went with the lapband and plication...no issues for me but my dr told me something i tell whomever asks which surgery no WLS will work unless the patient aids this tool of assistance and that is changing what we eat/and begin to exercise..any WLS has good and bad and any WLS can have issues or some not at all (like i have experienced) i wish you all the luck go with what YOUR doctor recommends for YOUR lifestyle and then use it as they advise for best results and with all things in life, results will vary.

  23. here is a odd NSV i just noticed day before yesterday before surgery i could not put on my socks..i was too large to do this and yep hub had to do it...well i can now..but i noticed the socks the socks were on my ankle and when i went to take them off i noticed they were not on my (cankle) like a sausage wrap the sock was on properly and no stretch/too tight marks when it was removed that is what i wanted to share.
