Ignore this bizzy. Too many times, we have been accommodating everyone else. This is your time, for your health. She can just wait on her vacation. Tell the Doctor to write a letter for date of surgery so they can make no noise about it. You went through the process, not fair to delay it just because somebody a whiner! Good Luck

#MagicWithinme got a reaction from Chez2812 in how do you know if your band has slipped????
I've had flu issues before and also thought that my band has slipped. After twice getting an abdominal scan, dr. said that with the vomiting and stomach issues, the tissue becomes swollen and it will become hard to eat. Stick to soft foods, liquids for a couple of days. But always check with your md.

    Good Luck!

I live off of Fiber bars. I am uncomfortable if I haven't had a poop. I may not eat a lot but it can pile up. I only drink Protein Drinks when I work out. I do switch out Water bottles. It is boring to drink water out of plain water bottles. Even 6 years out I still have struggles.

Vomiting is nothing to play around with, go back to dr. The sore throat maybe stick to liquids for a few days. For me the weather (cold mostly) makes my band tight in am. I saw suggestions here, to drink something hot, I started drinking hot Water with a little lemon in it. Or heat up a cup of almond milk and a splash of coffee for Breakfast.
Even after 6 years, I still have trouble, so don't beat yourself over the head. Eventually you will find a rhythm to the eating and drinking, and a reminder no big bites

    good luck

I've had my band unfilled about 3 times. Because I didn't add anything for 2 years, (I was being so strict on myself) that every time I got up to 3ccs I couldn't eat, sip a little. I'd go back to dr to take what I had put in removed and wait another week. I was still having problems (things got swollen) that dr ended up removing everything from band. Id have to wait 6 weeks to start over. I did that 3 times. But hey I lost weight during that time!
just remember small, bites, that's my biggest problem, sometimes I so hungry I forget, and I end up in bathroom, with my finger down my throat trying to make things come back up, or down. I know that's not ideal either but in that moment...

If you have been honest and really tried, there is no shame or embarrassment. I'm sure the doctors/staff have seen far worse. People trying to eat regular and not give lap band a chance. I lose a good deal of weight first two years with no fill but now I have gained some back even with fills. It is hard work and at times we get discouraged, but we have to remember the reason we first decided to get one. To be healthier and happier people. Each of our journeys are different. Don't base your story to someone else's. talk to your doctor and perhaps he can give you suggestions, or talk to a nutritionist, or what he feels might help you with support and if a different kind of surgery is required be open to it. It doesn't mean you have to do it. Just get the information.
    Good luck!

that's exactly what my doctor asked me, when I was hem hawing, about setting a date. and in truth I could not have lost the 65 lbs that hung around my tummy making me looking a brown umpa lumpa. If there's one thing I would change, it would be to do more research on it. very pleased with results. It should not be a daily struggle to know what to eat, but for some it is is (me) only because we are still unsure of ourselves.

#MagicWithinme reacted to Dairymary in How does everyone deal with the social pressure to eat while eating out?
I either split something with my husband, order just an appetizer, or get a whole entree for myself and ask for a to go box right up front. That way no one is surprised when I don't eat much. My friends actually love going out to eat and splitting an entree with me because they feel like they are "eating light" but they actually get 3/4 of the meal.

I went to Dr to complain about a rash. Dr said it was weight related, gave me nothing. Went to a dermatologist, got a cream and it was gone in a week. After months of suffering.
Too many doctors see fat and stop caring.

@@JamieLogical Thanks - it sounds like we have very similar concerns. Sorry you're going through it again. But I'm sure you'll be happy when it's all done. :-)
I was told moving my nipples was an option. Not really a lift, just move them to where they should be (they are a little low, below center line). I don't know if I want to do that. That may wait until I see if I'm happy with where things end up (or down!). This is why I'm choosing things in this order also.
I also have a lot of extra under arm skin. She was very conservative with it with the arm lift knowing I was pursuing the implants. Putting volume back will take up some of this. Since there will be a surgery after the implants, she will most likely wait until then to finish removing that final excess skin.
I better be done after surgery #3! I know my bank account will be....

Oops, hit reply before I finished.
It is still important to look after your health no matter what size you are. Obese people are constantly toms to lose weight by Drs as a response to all health conditions. While weight can be a big influence in many conditions, it is silly never to address any of the other contributing factors.
Nutrition is still important even if the goal isn't to lose weight.

I had my band done in 2011. and I too did great in the beginning. for the first 2 years I had my original 2mm fill . and lost 65 lbs., Of course I was terrified every time I put something in my mouth. I started loosening up food wise and unfortunately I have gained back part of the weight. I was working out before to try to get weight off, now I work out to keep if off, but somewhere between all that, it's no longer working. I have confidence in myself that this is just a setback , it happens, get back on the wagon, yada yada yada.
You are not alone, don't go by someone else's journey. We all have our issues, our demons, our goals and dreams. You are not alone.

In this day and age of weight awareness, in schools, on TV, online, if you don't know you are overweight , there's a problem. Or you don't care and figure society will take care of you (which unfortunately will happen)

#MagicWithinme reacted to sassyfrass23 in No "Steve Harvey" this time..
Soooo...a couple of weeks ago I posted that I had been approved for RNY per my Insurance company when calling in to verify they'd received my file. Only to find out the next day when speaking with my surgeon's office that not only had I NOT been approved, my file hadn't even been submitted yet. Talk about ripping the rug out from under somebody....
I DEFINITELY felt like the lady from Miss America when Steve accidentally announced the wrong winner.
However, I called tonight and learned that I had been APPROVED for RNY. No jokes. No mistakes. It's officially official. Legit. Oh...my...stars!
My coordinator actually had to resubmit my file last Friday since UHC was saying they still hadn't received it. Which was the sole purpose behind my call tonight. Apparently, I was approved in less than 2 business days which was both shocking and exciting to learn.
I am so stoked to have surgery!
But I believe I'm MORE excited to be done with this damn process which began in June of 2015. It has been exhausting and definitely trying at times. And on occasion, I considered throwing the towel in and hitting the road to Mexico.
To all of you in the preop phase:
Keep your head up. The bumps in the road are almost impossible to avoid, but well worth fighting through. Don't get discouraged when/if something goes askew. I am certainly glad I didn't quit when I was tempted to...

I went to Torrid this weekend and got measured. I normally wear a 40c, but she says I can fit into a 42C/D and she was right!

I'm wearing one right now, and it feels like they are walking in before I am. I'm so used to wearing sports bras and flattening the girls down, but wow ,yes I am a bit self conscious.

Hubby loves the bra by the way!

Bra math hurts my brain. I did a bra fitting at Victoria secret. The correct size and fit helped keep the girls high and in place.
My family Dr asked me today if I had a boob job. I told her no. The girls are tube socks. I have to roll and stuff them in to the cup's. Can't wait for my next mammogram. Laying them out on the plate to be pressed will be a piece of cake.

I noticed quite a few replies to many different posts being a little disrespectful lately.
Having a differing opinion is one thing, flaming or cursing someone out because they don't agree with you is another.
We are adults here and don't need to be "touchy-feely" and "PC" all the time, but respectfully disagreeing with someone (even in a "tough-love" way) is a better approach.
There were times that someone really needed a response that would have even the filthiest mouthed person want to wash my mouth out with internet soap (probably "Lava" soap, since it has pumice in it), but I resisted. Not because they got over on me, but I decided not to engage in a battle of wits with an unarmed person.
Granted, some people post as trolls and bait people, they are so good at it they are "master-baiters", but sometimes a non-aggressive response to them is better. They won't get the rise out of you and hopefully they will slither away back to underneath the bridge where they came from never to be heard from again.
No animals were hurt in the making of this post.

Why not go back to the surgeon and get a fill? Every surgery will be hard work. If after rebooting you aren't doing well, then consider a revision. Don't be embarrassed. They have seen it all

Embarrassment of the actual activity and how I would look, when I wasn't fat. then when I was fat, embarrassment and shame how I would look doing activity.
Now I don't give a sh@t what anyone thinks. Its my life and I will do what I need to , to stay healthy. You can only look back in regret of how much we allow the outside world to dictate our lives,

#MagicWithinme got a reaction from JustWatchMe in Im so sick of passive aggressive people.
I hear you, before I "had a life". My family expected me to be doing nothing all weekend long and that I needed to spend the day taking care of their "someone else can do lists".
When I started dating hubby, and one of the first times he slept over, my phone started ringing, I said its either my mother or sister and sure enough it was mom. and several minutes later it was my sister.
It took them awhile to understand that I was not at their disposal any longer and I can honestly say that I was at fault for allowing myself to be taken advantage of.
It's a sad assumption and may it be true or not, that big people have no life. This weekend I exercised so much, my little heart is pounding, (I'm eating Peanut Butter for protein) .
    Live life my friend.
