Deflating my band is not an option. I dont want to be fat and pregnant eeeuw. Anyway gummies is a good idea. Im already six months along and hadnt had trouble swallowing these pills before. So it was real weird. On to liquid diet till swelling subsides.

I fear i have ruined my internals for life. I am a year plus post op and i am 6 months pregnant. All of a sudden my band is super tight and mg prenatal Vitamin got stuck. It was the worst pain ever in my throat chest and shoulder. That was the 5th and now im sitting here 12 hours later and i can barely drink Water because it comes right back up. Anyone experience something simar?

2 days lol. my husband is too hot. and once i got a nip of the liquid hydrocodone. it was on!!! hahaha as long as you feel good. do a few exercises first and if its all good go for it.

My shoulder pain went away a few days post op but it seemed like forever. I'm a few months shy of a year banded and if I over eat the pain is back just as strong. It is the pressure on the diaphragm tht causes it. It will pass. Hang in there and good luck.

I was banded in December and was so hungry and tired of holding back, I attacked a bucket of chicken a week post op. (Hey, if i had self control i wouldnt need the band)
Hang in there it gets better.
I only lost 20 pounds in the first few months after surgery, but once i found my sweet spot i am losing a consistent 2 pounds a week and now I am in heaven.
Dont worry, you are normal, and all of our individual experiences with the band are different.

I can understand. Nothing helped me except for the liquid Hydrocodone. After day 7 the pain went away. please know this will pass and you will be on your way to the rest of your life (as cliche as it may sound)

WARNING! THE FOLLOWING IS REAL TALK!!
I had sex the next day and while I never asked the doctors advice on intercourse I did ask about oral sex and his advice to me was "avoid it if its gonna make you gag, but if you absolutetly feel the NEED, go slow and dont swallow... until your on solid food"

Hi, I also have auto immune issues such as mild lupus and RA. Howeverr I made a decision to stop all Rx about five years ago. I chose not to tell my surgeon (not recommended). I was banded in December 2011 and have had three fills and so far so good. Best of luck to you.

I have the cloudy day lap band blues here in Los Angeles today. But let me tell you it cheers me up to know my struggle is onward and upward unlike last year when I would comfort myself with food and end up in that disasterous cycle.
Good Luck to you. Remember its something we all go through in all our different ways but this is a place we can ask for help and support without shame and without judgement.
Lots of luck and good energy being sent your way.

Real talk: most of my the people I know are fat and miserable and jealous they can't afford the surgery themselves or are thin and don't understand what its like to be me and think I took the lazy way out. Do what's right for you. Read blogs from people have experienced first hand and know every singlw person is different. You started this for a reason but know if its not right for you you can back out anytime.
You don't owe anything to anyone but yourself.

Congratulations! I also have autoimmune issues as in mild lupus and RA. I however didn't disclose this at the time of surgery (I do not recommend keeping deadly secrets from your doctor) and I'm doing fine. I was banded on 12/23/11 and have not had any problem, on he contrar. I feel alive again. Good luck to you and God bless!

I get Muscle Milk at costco too. They have the Muscle Milk light in premaid ready to take box drinks. I tried the Whey Protien in vanilla and it was Not cool, bad after taste. Body Fortress from Walmart is good. Mind you, I make them with skim milk or plain yogurt sometimes a little Peanut Butter or banana if I need a bit more to stay full and I don't feel like a solid food meal. Its yummy.

Sorry if you think my reply is rude but... Get over it! Don't run and hide upstairs, face the rest of your life head on and start now. You have this incredible blessing of technology and opportunity with the lap band! Know that you are blessed and let everyone else go on with their lives as usual. Enjoy your family time and know that in time the pride you have in a brand new juicy body will be better than any over indulgent meal. Be confident that you can deal! Because you can.

I feel this now too and searched the topic. It didn't start after eating buit I have a cold so maybe that's it. Did your feeling ever go away?

Hey Patti, in my opinion there's no such thing as normal. However I felt excellent after my banding and have never felt any restriction. I've had two fills and currenly have 5.5 in a 10cc band. I limit my food (not so much) I don't count calories. I just kinda wing it and while I know I could eat more I just stop at a certain point because I would be so embarassed if I caused myself a problem. I've been losing 2-3 pounds a week so far. Hope it helps!

Its empty calories, carbonated drinks can stretch out the upper pouch if you have them often. Real talk... I tossed back a whole bottle of wine two weeks post op and have had no problems. That's just how I roll.

I have a half of a whole wheat waffle topped with a little Peanut Butter and very thin banana slices and maybe a tiny drizzle of honey and I stay satiated for quite a while I might even have to come back to it later for a snack. My doctor explained to me if you chew everything til it liquifies in ur mouth then you should be fine and I've found that to be true. I'm not gonna lie... My mom fixed me a NEw York steak and I sliced it thin and chewed it up and I'm fine. I eat what I feel is right. Chew chew!

I got lap band as a tool to help me get my life on track as far as weight loss. I would never sign on to change my anatomy. That's not cool with me. Also my brother had gastric bypass at 550+ lbs and has gained most of it back. He can't adjust anything and has to reply on supplements for 80 percent of his nutrition. I agree with going to support groups. If I had to choose between lap band and nothing then I choose nothing. But that's just me and we're all different in everyway except our battle with weight loss. Good luck to you. I pray you find your own answers.

Omg! Sorry you are going through this. I actually tried to go through that company but my insurance wanted nothing to do with them so I went to LAp Band Vip. Look them up they're awesome! My docs and nurses actually give you cell phone numbers so you can call or text with questions. Good luck on your journey and don't give up! You deserve better!

I call it being human. Last time I went to costco to get my protien powder I had a rather large slice of pepperoni pizza! Forgive yourself and move on. Don't be afraid to correct yourself and start over. I have gotten to the drive thru window then said nevermind and got my money back and I've also taken one drink of a frappe or onme bite of cupcake and thrown the rest out. Losing that four bucks is a lesson in itself.
Good luck! And remember we are Human! If there was some magic trick we wouldn't be banded.

This process can be an emotional roller coaster sometimes, when she is venting and it seems like she needs answers just give her a hug. I agree with not judging her food or portions and tell her she's beautiful... We love that.

I wish you the best of luck. Much like you, I didn't seek out my pcp before making my decision. My hubbie isn't really chatty either. I didn't even tell him I was considering wLS until I had made up my mind. We have good insurance through Screen Actors Guild or else we wouldn't be able to afford it. I have run into a little jelousy but people who really care about me will love the healthy happy me and I surrender those relationships to God. I don't really spread word about my surgery but if someone asks I tell, just because I saw it as an easy button for people with money before I did my homework on it, maybe I can help someone not count themselves out. This site is awesome and people are informative, eager to share their experiences very candidly. Good luck to you. Know that everyone here is different but we all got your back!

I asked myself the same thing hours before being banded. Then my husband said what will you do years from now still fat and depressed and stuffing your face and watching everyone live their life while you're sitting on the sidelines. It shocked me he was so harsh but its something I've said a million times.
