    Puréed meal ideas?

I bought marinated Jamaican jerk chicken breasts for dinner tonight. I made rice and peas to go with my husband and my daughter's meals, and I just puréed about 1oz of the chicken for myself. It was nice because I felt like I was eating the same as they were My plan is to buy some "fancy" seasoned chicken breast every week for dinners, so I don't feel sad that it's just yogurt/eggs/cottage cheese all day!
  3. As far as blenders, I use my son's baby bullet, it works great! The regular magic bullet is great too, they're perfect for blending small amounts of food
  4. Hi all, I'm newly pregnant (about 4 weeks) and since I found out I haven't been able to get anything down in the morning, even water. I usually have trouble in the morning with my band and can usually only have liquids for breakfast, but now I'm worried that I can't even get water to go down. By around 1pm I'm usually okay and able to finally eat, but has anyone else had this problem in the morning?? I'm not sure why a baby that's the size of a sesame seed would cause such drastic changes in my band already. But I've started having mild morning sickness already and I just feel like I'm going to end up getting dehydrated. Yet if I get an unfill I'm worried that I'll gain too much weight. Ugh. I have an appointment tomorrow with my band PA and I'm just worried she'll either say I have to have all the fluid taken out or none. Anyone else had this problem and it went away on its own?
  5. Getting out of a major rut where I gained weight for the first time since surgery. Time to get back in the game and get to my goals

    4 Day's Until I'm Banded

Congrats!! I was banded back in Jan and I remember exactly how you feel I think I started screaming when the office called to say I was approved! Good luck!! I used a regular blender/smoothie maker? to blend all my foods in the beginning. I still had to make sure to cut the meat into smaller pieces or they wouldn't get blended to the right consistency.

    Couch To 5K?

I got this app and I'm starting it on Monday! I tore my ACL 4 years ago and had it replaced a year ago so I haven't jogged in 4 years!! But I got another app called "Zombies, Run!" and wow I love it!!! You can walk, jog, or run to your own music... and every now and then a mob of zombies will chase you and you have to pick up the pace to outrun them. I normally do a power walk and then I jog during the chases. It's not as much jogging as the C2 5k so I feel like it really got me ready to do it. I think it's a GREAT app for people (like me) who haven't jogged in years. My knee feels better than it ever has since I started! Ha, don't mean to advertise another app, but I REALLY think it's a great prep for the C2 5k program

  11. I agree, dang I never thought about how hard these first few days would be! The "bubble" sensation is better today, but now I'm dealing with gas in my left shoulder. Ugh! Just gotta keep our heads up and remember the reasons why we did this! I even wrote myself a letter a day pre-op in case I felt down on myself this first week!
  12. Thanks everyone, glad to know I'm not alone! The "bubble" has been getting better even this morning, but it's definitely still there. Wannabe21bmi, I think you're on to something with the warm fluids! This does seem to only happen when I drink cold water or sip anything cold like ice chips... thanks!!
  13. Hey everyone, I'm new here and I was just banded 2 days ago. I'm noticing that whenever I drink/eat anything, I feel almost like I get nauseous. It's hard to explain... it feels almost like I'm going to either burp or vomit what I ate, but then the feeling goes away. I've been taking tiny tiny sips about a minute or two apart from each other. This happens maybe 20 seconds after I have a sip of whatever I'm drinking. At first I thought it was a bubble of some of the surgical gas left in my abdomen? But it's starting to really bother me and I feel like I'm really not getting as many calories as I should be. I can barely even finish 4oz of my Protein shake. Anyone else experience this?
