  1. I was sleeved on 01/10/12 and have lost a total of 58 lbs (5 of that since last wednesday) I feel like I'm losing too fast as well and approache this with my physician at my last appt last week. He stated that the weight loss should slow down in a few weeks. While I'm excited over teh weight loss, I dont want to lose it so fast that I look like a dripping candle lol My only complaint is that I am NOT getting enough calories, Protein in. NOTHING tastes good anymore and I'm just repulsed by food after just a few bites. I have NO desire to eat and just have to make myself eat when I do. I'm pretty much living on crackers, cheese and kool aid and unsweet tea. I can't stomach the Protein shakes anymore at all. I am making sure that I get all my Vitamins in though so hopefully that'll help somewhere along the road. This is just alot different than I expected. I'm not regretting it, just wish something tasted good.

    Calcium Citrate

I get the chocolate truffle chews from Walmart....I think they are about 9 bucks a bag and you only have to chew 2 a day. They taste really good too.

    Weight Loss After Vsg

I'm not even 2 months out and haven't exercised like I should be and I'm down 45 lbs.

No Real Break Between Meals - I Eat Slowly

I'm having to do the same thing and still am not getting all my Protein or fluids in. I am almost 8 weeks out and STILL can only do 3 or 4 bites before I'm full. And seems the further I'm out from my surgery, I can't tolerate the shakes because they are so flippin sweet. My weight loss is doing great (down 41lbs so far) but I'm so tired and weak because I'm not getting enough protein and fluids in. *sigh* I'm getting frustrated lol

    Calcium Vs. Calcium Citrate

I started taking the Citracal Calcium + Vit D that I bought at CVS and they also have them at Walmart. I got the Chocolate Truffle and they are delicious. Plus I like the fact I only have to chew two a day rather than 4 like I was having to do with the Bariatric Advantage ones.
  6. With my first pregnancy, I took THREE home test which all came back negative. A blood test is how I found I was pregnant so they can definitely read wrong.
  7. I was a week out and had intercourse. Just don't get TOO frisky and get into a position that won't put any pressure on your abdomen. I was told by my doctor's office that as long as I felt ok and it wasn't causing me pain or discomfort to go for it.
  8. Before I started my pre-op diet, I DID make sure I ate some of my favorite foods because I knew it would be a long time and/or never before I'd get to eat it again. Don't feel guilty. If you want a Big Mac before you start your pre-op diet, then treat yourself to one. I've missed my Diet Coke as well but I'm learning that the missing gets less and less every day. Post of pain....I was in more than I anticipated but I know that each of us are different. Some people on here say they had virtually no pain and some say it was terrible. I was kinda in the middle but I think mine was mostly from the gas they use to expand your torso for the surgery. I came home and was sweeping my kitchen floor the next day. Nothing too vigorous but I realized I felt better being up and moving rather than laying still, so I don't think you're going to have much trouble taking care of your little one. As for returning to work, I went back after a week but I have a desk job. I work in a nursing home and do alot of walking and I have to admit I would start to get really tired after lunch but I put my 8 hours in and did ok with it. You are the only one that knows yourself the best so you do what's best for you. Good luck with your surgery. I had mine on January 10th and I'm down 28 pounds already and alot of my clothes fit looser.
  9. I'm in the same boat as you. I have NO hunger whatsoever and it's all I can do to keep enough fluids in. I knew it would be an issue for me prior to my surgery because I have never been one to drink alot of fluids anyway. As for the hunger, I wasn't expecting to have NONE at all so this has been weird lol. I've been watching my family eat and smelling their food and it doesn't even appeal to me. I went grocery shopping yesterday and nothing even made me want it. I'm guessing this is normal? Other than that, I'm feeling lots better, just still have a bit of gas that refuses to come out. I did check my temp earlier and I'm running a low grade fever of 99.3 and don't know what's up with that. I'm not in pain or anything. Incisions look great. I'll just keep a watch on it. I had planned on returning to work tomorrow but I didnt' expect to be so weak or get exhausted so quickly. So, I'm gonna hold off a couple of days and attempt to go back on Wednesday.
  10. I got sleeved on Tuesday so here's wishing you some good luck with this journey. I was glad when I could have something other than the morphine for pain. I felt like I lost a couple of days of my life being knocked out by that stuff. I'm feeling alot better today then the other days and still have some pain and discomfort but it's tolerable. I had originally planned on returning to work on Monday (I work a desk job in a nursing home) but I'm seriously doubting that's going to be able to happen.
  11. I was sleeved on Tuesday too so it's great to have another person here that is getting started with me. I agree with the pain being pretty intense the first couple of days but I'm feeling ALOT better. Still sore and tender and only doing half my dose of pain medication but it's definitely better than it was. I was worried about sleeping arrangements last night when I got home and found out that I was more comfortable in my bed propped up by pillows than i was in my recliner, so I had a great night of NO Interrupted sleep lol Glad to hear you're doing so well and I hope our journey will be a positive pleasant experience for us
  12. Wow, you look fantastic. Way to go! I can't wait till I can post before and after photos
  13. Hey I just want to say that, based on your profile picture, I never in a million years would guess that you had any extra weight to lose at all. You're gorgeous!

  14. I have been very fortunate to not have had any nausea so far. I took a pill before my surgery that the md had prescribed to keep the nausea at bay following surgery and I have a script for Zophran that I take before taking the liquid pain med so it doesn't make me sick. I'm actually sipping on my first Protein shake today and it's going down well. I can definitely tell if I sip too much lol doesn't hurt, just uncomfortable. Thank you Patti! I'll get a ticker set up later. Good luck to you as well....I think we're gonna be just fine
  15. I'm new here and this is my first official post lol I got sleeved Tuesday, 01/10/12, too. Glad to hear that you're doing well. I admit I had more pain that I expected and on day 2 I was actually wondering if I had made a mistake but I got to come home yesterday and I'm feeling alot better today. Trying to wean myself off the pain meds because I just don't like feeling looopy all the time. I'm sipping sipping sipping! I have NO appetite and the only thing that has been in my mouth since surgery is apple and grape juice, a bit of coffee, Water and Jello. Even broth doesn't sound appealing to me but I know that will change soon. I'm just excited to have some others here that got sleeved on the same day as me! I think it'll help having people around to ask questions. Btw, where do I get a weight loss ticker thing? I started at 248 prior to pre-op diet and was down to 236 the day of my sugery. I weighed yesterday when I got home and I'm down to 230 but I know that's prob not accurate.
