    I am 55 lbs down in 3 months so I'd think 80-100 lbs in 6 months is definately doable.

    Guess I'm a slow loser! I started at 266 lbs, and at 6 months I am down 71 lbs. But I have lost steadily with no real stalls, and only have 45 lbs until goal, so I am happy!
    Good luck to you!

    Are you tracking your intake? Calories, Protein, Water? If not, I encourage you to do so. I also encourage you to look at when you are stress eating. If you know what situations cause you to eat you can take steps to be prepared beforehand. If you have to work at McDonald's, okay, but you don't have to eat there. Bring Protein and healthy food from home. Are you exercising? Walking, at least? Weightlifting will build muscle mass and that will help increase your metabolism so that you can eat more and still lose weight.
    I encourage you to make these changes now. You had surgery to change your relationship to food and you sound young. Please do not let this time slip away and end up fat and fifty-six, wishing that I could have had surgery when I was younger. Keep posting your struggles and we will help you.

    I for sure do not want to sound mean at all I'm trying to help. If McDonald's seems to be a problem for you, you should not be working there. There's always something else I know how trying times are now being a college student myself and working, plus I have a kid. If you really want this you can change things I know it's hard, but it'll be better in the end! Are you still tracking your food? If not you should start again it'll help you stay away from snacking. For stressful times, try doing something else besides first going to food. You might even want to try to write down how you are feeling and why you're stressed. Just getting things out in any form could help destress you!
    Hope any of this helped!
    Congrats on any loss you've had so far, you can get right back on track!

    I have PCOS and my endo was the one who suggested I have WLS to lessen the symptoms. She also did not say it would totally go away but that I could reverse many of this issues with the surgery. I am six months out and definitely my energy is way up and carb cravings have gone way down but I still have Hair growth on my face and I had thin hair due to the PCOS before surgery and it is much thinner now. Hopefully when I get further out and have lost more weight those things will resolve. Good luck! The sleeve is a great option and I definitely am much healthier now than before surgery!!

    I brought cute night shirts, Chapstick, mp3 player, makeup, book... I didn't use any of them lol I didn't see anyone in the hospital ever change out of their hospital gown, there is too many tubes, shots, drainage bag, catheter bag. I was so tired, I never thought of listening to music let alone read. And... makeup, ya right lol My surgeon uses a blue die during the surgery, which, of course leaks down the side of your face, I was more concerned with washing my face to get the blue off then applying makeup. I suggest you keep it simple, stay in the gown, just bring real baggy clothes, with a very loose waist band, slippers to wear home, hairbrush and toothbrush and paste. Once I got home, not much changed for a few days other than I could shower. Stay comfy.

    Laptop with cord (install Skype or some other voice chat to save $ on phone calls!), books, magazines, stuffed animal, some sort of crafts (e.g. knitting), Spanish dictionary if you're heading to Mexico - might not be necessary, but why not improve your Spanish while there?

    QUESTION:
    "I'm having surgery soon, what will I need for my hospital stay or for shortly after???"
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Okay, ladies and gentlemen, this question comes up here so much - I felt it would be a great idea to start up an official thread. My plan is once I think the list is great enough, I'm going to create a checklist for all the folks out there that will be sleeved shortly and have the above question. Then if you are around long enough and as much as I am, and someone has that question you can just lead them to this thread. Fair enough?
    Sometimes it's just nice to have everything all in the same place, kinda following the Walmart rule of thumb. They are very successful, aren't they?
    Anyway, please start with your suggestions and I'll get my MSWord fired up. I'll also start with the first suggestion:
    Comfy Pajamas, underclothes, and slippers or warm cozy socks...
    I agree with your surgeon, you do sound dehydrated, I speak from experience. Girl, I went through so much of what you are going through right after my surgery. I ended up in the hospital three times due to severe dehydration and had to get fluids via IV. As soon as those fluids were in me, I was amazed at how much better I felt. Additionally, the dehydration caused me bladder and kidney infections, which I wasn't even really aware I had until I was tested. All of those things can just really wear you down. I would feel so lightheaded and dizzy, like I was going to pass out at any moment.
    If you can't get more fluids in your body, then I suggest going to the emergency room and getting IV fluids. Your health is too important to mess around with. And, as I did, you may have additional infections as a result of the dehydration.
    It is absolutely unacceptable for a man to speak to his wife in such a way. About ANYthing. You are his queen and you should be treated as such. He is to live with you in an understanding way. I would cry for a week if my husband even HINTED at the fact that I have an adverse effect on gravity! (of course we're not stupid, we know I'm huge, he's just respectful about my feelings.) Your husband shouldn't be dishing out anything but kindness and love to you! I'll say it....He needs Jesus! I do pray things get better for you and he has a change of heart.
    Other than that...I'm with Shoelover!!!
    I really would like to be able to give you a nice, peaceful resolution, but I'm just not that person. I probably would have slapped the absolute mess outta him and then I would have given him the worst cussing of his life. But what will probably be the sweetest revenge is when you get slim, and have other men salivating over you.
