i exercise as much as possible. i try to work my legs more than anything. they are the largest muscles on your body so they burn more calories. i try to work out at least 3 times a week.

First things first, Its always better to get out your frustration than to hold it in. I can definitely relate to the pain. I have been having ongoing back and nerve pain for the last 2 years. one of the reasons i had this surgery was to help relieve some of the pressure on the nerves in my back. My pain is more manageable now and i don't have to take heavy duty pain killers like i used to. i really hate taking vicodin, celebrex, tramadol and muscle relaxers , they only take the edge off the pain a little. These drugs only treat the symptoms and not the actual problem. i was also scared to get into the pool . i was afraid of having my back spasm up while in the water so i have avoided pools. now that i am down about 200 pounds i am more confident to get into the water. Dont worry about the stall, we all have them. Sometimes when you stall you have to go back to the basics to get a jump start in the weight loss. Try LilMissDiva 's boot camp to help break the stall. Good luck and stay positive !

I would hold off on the protein shake. your taste buds will change after surgery and you might end up wasting protein due to the change in taste. everything else that Itchtcatt55 suggested is great.

Took me about 6 weeks to get approval. I started the process and august of 2011 and was sleeved on November 9th 2011. I had 2 insurance plans , one was my mine through work and my other was through my mother. My work insurance has a WLS as an exclusion so the denial was within days. After my primary insurance was denied it was submitted to my mothers insurance, which they approved the surgery. i knew my insurance was going to deny the claim ,but before it could be submitted to my secondary insurance it has to go through the primary first. My mothers insurance is BCBS FEP

First things first. Take a deep breath and exhale slowly. Your anxiety and doubt is completely normal. And you eating just lets me know that your an emotional eater(most of us are). You need get back on track and find away to divert your stress into something other than food. It is normal to have doubts about getting the sleeve also. it took about 2 months for me to get my approval letter. each day i called the weight management center asking for an update. As far as the sleeve working im sure it will. it worked for me . i started at 540 pounds and i am now down to 338 pounds. The good thing is that you are on the right website to get good information and great support. Keep your head up and stay positive. Hopefully this helps.

Well they will probably be scared because your going to have surgery. the best way to let them know that you are going to have the surgery is to give them as much information as you can so you can calm their fears. let them know that you are not going to stand for negative or judgmental comments and let them know that they need to think before they ask there questions. if you don't give them an option to try to talk you out of having surgery the conversation will be a lot smoother. your other option is to not tell them at all until after the surgery.the bottom line is that your making a choice to better your life and you do not need a lot of negativity before or after surgery. Stay strong bro and good luck with the surgery.
