  1. How many calories and protein do you consume in a day? Do you also exercise?

I eat between 600 - 1100 calories a day just depends on my night time snack. I was exercising (4x a week both weight and bike riding) up till the doctor put me back on heart medication due to chest pains. Now the most he will let me do is walk, if I can get things under control again he will let me workout so I'm just sitting around for the most part. As for protein I try to get in 80 mg and about 90 to 100 oz of fluids a day, sometimes I make it and some times I don't lol.

  2. You are so blessed with friends that want to know everything you are about to go through. They have not been to the classes or been to the doctor appointments with you so all they can do is ask questions. They are all afraid for you even if you are not. They are doing the only thing they know how to do. It may be nerve racking to you, but for them all they see and hear is that you are having SURGERY and that is scary.

They have sites that you can post on facebook that will help answer some of the questions maybe if they see what it is that you are doing they will feel more comfortable about it and soon the only question will be how much have you lost now.

God has truly blessed you with such wonderful friends to stand up and be beside you.

  3. I am only 11 weeks out and having a really hard time right now so I am going back to my roots. 4oz of protein drinks, broth with protein taking 20 minutes to drink them 3x a day. Also drinking tons of water all day to keep the hunger bug away. I am hoping this kick starts the losing all over again.

  4. Dorrie;

Have since stopped weighting everyday. I now only weight once a week on my day after surgery days (Tuesdays) today in fact.

It just made me crazy to weight all the time. I appericate your responce. Good-Bye fat and hello skinny YAYYYYYYYYYY for both of us......

  5. Just gotta love this. I had a love hate relationship with food forever and now I can take it or leave it. My favorite foods don't taste good and the things I hated taste great. Love the fact that all I need is just a taste (1 bite) of something and then walk away.

I hated green veggies wouldn't eat them at all and now I find I crave them go figure.

I am 6.5 weeks out and eating (tasting) food again but with out the worries. If I even have 1 bite more than my stomach thinks it can handle it lets me know in a hurry. Love'n my sleeve. I average about 4-5oz any more than that I get sick.

Food has lost it's appeal for me and am very thankful.

  6. This has been great I love all the helpful advice and have decided to weight only once a week NOT EVERYDAY. I should have taken the time to think it through (gaining) I have been exercising a lot and measurements are changing even with NO WEIGHT LOSS. Thank you all so much.

  7. Thank you, I hope that is all it is. I just am so afraid of failing. I was feeling pretty good until today and have had a good out look

since surgery. It is amazing how those 2 little pounds can freak a person out and send them over the edge. Just need to remember my motto (step by step day by day with Jesus is all I pray).

Thank you again for the words of encouragement

  8. JMarshall

I am in awe at the amount of weight you have lost in only 2 month way to go. I have lost as of today 34lbs, I agree every pound is truly a victory, I didn't put it on in a day and it won't come off in a day. (My moto is step by step day by day with Jesus, this is all I can hope for right now this minute.)

I have not had any medication since 2 days before surgery. I was taking 7 pills a day plus a shot on insulin in the evening. I have NOT had ANY of my meds since surgery as they didn't want me to swallow any thing big. Thank you for your words of encouragement they really help.

  9. You are not a failure. You did have the surgery after all, which is step one. Now you just need to change the old habits and ways of thinking. God and prayer are very strong tools in our lives, always there and never faltering. I prayed long and hard about what to do and the answers came, just give it a chance. Your prayers are herd and will be answered in God's time not ours.

You can do anything through Christ and with Christ. I have a little moto I say all the time when things start going wrong it is

Step by Step Day by Day with Jesus. I thank God for every day my feet hit the floor and I am alive.

We all have the messed up thinking and it is very hard to give it up, so don't beat yourself up about it, ok.

Think about the reasons you had the surgery done when the bad thoughts want to take over. It has helped me through the past 18 days. I had my surgery on the 12th of December and I to wanted real food before I should have it.

I will keep you in prayer and in thoughts that God will continue His grace on you.

  10. I have 3 high protein shakes a day and have a super shot of protein (a liquid vial 25-40gm) to make up the rest.

    am now doing

Breakfast shake protein rich (1 teaspoon peanut butter, 2 scoops whey protein unflavored, 8oz water, small piece of banana) in blender good for 2 meals

Lunch is chocolate shake protein rich mixed with almond milk,

Dinner is creamy soup 2oz and protein rich shake 2oz

    Late Night coco protein rich

if not enough protein intake I use a shot of protein.

  11. I use the shot protein and it works very well, and it comes in a ton of flavors. these are the ones I use: Super Protein Shot 26gm protein, New Whey liquid protein 42gm, and Profect protein supplement 25gm.

They are a a bit sour but a lot easier to go down, flavors make a difference my favorites are blue raspberry, fruit punch, and passion fruit.

ensure has a dietbetic counter part with protein no sure of the name.

  12. O wow I thought I was the only one having these same problems. I also am 5 days post-opt and feel like I can't get enough to drink
