  1. Omg u loooook amazing!!!! I started exactly at ur weight am down 56lbs and u have really inspired me am 10weeks post op thank you soooo much!!!! Can u pls share a typical diet of urs??

Well I can eat just about whatever I want except bread is hard to eat. But I try to get a shake or two in a day and then 4 more small meals of Protein. This week im getting back on track by going back to shakes for a week and reintroducing food. My only tip since your not that far out is to stay away from any foods that were a problem before...i.e soda was mine and if I want to I can drink it with no problem and I dont get sick from sugar. Good luck on your journey your gonna relearn you all over :)

  2. Hello! I know what I'm about to say is crazy' date=' but I'm so glad you posted this. 2 months after my sleeve, I found out I had a begin tumor in my spinal cord that caused nerve damage in my body from the waist down, and a congenital brain malformation. While I don't have the same neurological issues as you, I COMPLETELY know and understand how painful it can be! I will def. be praying for you as you go on this journey. Please feel free to message me if you need someone to talk to![/quote']

Thank you so much, and Im sorry to hear that u had to go through that.

  3. So, I have muscle wasting so about a month ago I started physical therapy am getting in all of my Vitamins and Protein in and I notice my legs are starting to get stronger. But two weeks ago my feet started tingling/burning and now they wake me up every night. So now I have been referred to a neurologist and she believes I have peripheal neuropathy which I hope can be cured. I just feel alone in this and the pain of standing on my feet for 8 hours is unbearable.... I hope noone has to go through this.

  4. I was sleeved on December 8' date=' 2011 and I must say it has been rocky. Not even 8 weeks after my gallbladder had to come out. I thought I was ok until I started having trouble walking and my stomach, legs, and thighs went completly numb. My lady parts are numb as well as my breast so I had to get a attorney because they think something went wrong during the surgery. But, on a POSITIVE note I came from 412 to 311 in less tha 6 months. I'm praying that my walking goes back to 100% so I can finally hi8t the gym. I have a MRI scheduled fot Monday so we can figure out what this guy did..thanks for reading:)[/quote']

I had the same symptoms with the numbness. You say when your walking goes back to normal? Are you experiencing weakness. I was told I was not getting enough Protein and started losing muscle. So my walking and even getting up off chairs has been difficult.

  5. I started this journey beginning nov 2011 by attending my first meeting gathering information about bariactric surgery and by knowing what i might be in for seem to ease my mind and made my decision a little easier. My spouse accompanied me to the meeting and we both decided on the vertical sleeve based on my prior prob' date='ems with high blood pressure and a high BMI COUNT. Since my surgery in April of this year God has blessed me to lose nearly 30 lbs and I am thrilled. In the begginning i assumed that i did not need to drink my Protein shakes and I could eat enough Proteins to sustain my self, By the middle of May 2012 I felt faint during church services and a light bulb came on. Wow, i need energy which means i need to drink my Protein Shakes daily not only to guard against hair loss. As I go along I am learning from everyone that the food intake will only be 3ozs at the most and my small meals can include Soup, a piece of meat, or a serving of cottage cheese with fruit, etc. Thanks for this site because I am not alone and there is support.[/quote']

I am learning it the hard way. I wasnt drinking the Protein shakes then didnt understand why I was nauseous and weak and cld barely eat so I ended up with muscle wasting they call it.. Pretty much legs are shot for now strength wise..Im glad you caught it early :)

  6. With physical therapy maybe you are gaining muscle. 3 Protein shakes and 3 small meals...not sure what that equals in carbs and calories and Protein a day.

Diet Soda 5 months out' date=' the carbonation could potentially stretch your stomach and I'm glad you quit that, it's not worth it.

Keep an eye on things for now, you may have excess bloating from switching up your diet, you may have Water retention, if you gain any more, talk to your doctor again. A gain of 3-4 pounds and then a quick loss is natural, especially for women because of hormones, a steady gain of a few pounds a week is a problem, he may need to adjust the food and throw some cardio in with the weight training.[/quote']

Thank you for your reply.. I think I really took on soda because for a second I didnt feel so restricted because I could drink what my cooworkers and family were... But its not worth the effects.

  7. I am 10 months out now and had a ruff patch a few months ago' date=' where I was pretty non compliant with the diet and Protein. I pretty much thought that I didnt really need to do what the doc said. I found out the hard way that the weight stopped coming off like it did when I followed the rules. We are all human and bound to make mistakes, just try to learn from them, and move on. dont beat yourself up over it. you will succeed if you really want it! smile :)[/quote']

Thank you so much for your response! Were you able to start losing again when u got on track?

  8. So I posted before because I am going through physical therapy to rebuild the muscle in my legs. And my nut has me on 3 Protein Shakes and 3 small meals of 2oz of Protein at each. But I have been gaining since I started. I have been diligent on my protein but Im worried im not going to lose weight again. I also started and quit today drinking diet soda. I tried it two weeks ago and when i didnt get sick or uncomfortable I kept at it. Has anyone had feelings of falling off the wagon 5 mths out. Any encouragement wld be greatly appreciated.

  9. Welp, I was sleeved feb 13th and all together with preop diet ive lost 97lbs. However, I wasnt getting enough Protein so I am experiencing the effects of muscle wasting and going to physical therapy. I have been getting 60-100grams of

Protein now and cannot wait until I have the strength back in my legs. I am in a size 18/20 down from a 28 thats exciting, but ill really enjoy my sleee when im fixed 100%

  10. Hopefully today I will find out what is wrong. I go for an endoscopy in an hour. They think that I have a stricture. Ill take any reason as long as the the gag reflex, nausea and vomitting ends. I was doing good until 3 weeks ago... No wonder my weight was falling off. Oh well ill still take my 85 pds gone lol
