  1. Also, even though GB is technically reversible it is very difficult to do. Here is an article someone led me to when I was considering it. http://obesitysurgery-info.com/reversal.htm I hope people come around and are supportive of you!

Mom Of A 22 Year Old

Well the big question is, does she want to lose weight? I have always been bigger and my mum has always been around 105 pounds. She always tried to get me to lose weight and suggested new diets/exercise plans often. Even though I wanted to lose weight, I didn't do it or try because of how she made me feel. She finally got that and left me alone, saying she just wanted me to be happy and it didn't matter at what size that was at. I decided to have this surgery on my own and then told my mum, she was happy for me but I was happier that I didn't get pushed into it. Give her some space about it. She will decide to do what she wants, and it may be making her feel bad even if she doesn't tell you. We care too much about our moms to tell them when they are stepping on our toes!

    Who Are You?

Hi everyone!! My name is Marisa, I am currently a Biology Pre-Dental student at UCSB and am 20 years old. I am originally from Ukiah, CA -- a tiny podunk town in Nor Cal. I have two siblings and a wonderful mom that raised us. I am engaged to my boyfriend of three years, Rigo, who has been more than supportive through this whole journey. I currently work at a dining hall (glamorous, I know) on campus and kind of love it! For me, weight has always been a problem but it really ballooned out of control when my dad passed when I was ten. The pounds just kept packing on. And, I love baking which probably didn't help! My surgery is on March 23rd with Dr. Garcia and I am super excited to start this part of my life!!
  8. I completely understand where you are coming from. I am 20 and in college at UCSB, the campus made of gorgeous people who run around in bikinis! I work at a dining hall so I have to tell my boss that I need a week off, I am getting my VSG during spring break so I should have about two weeks off total. I told her the truth and she was very understanding, but to my college student coworkers I lied. I had told a friend of mine when I was just looking into it and she was so negative and judgmental, she called me lazy and said I was "cheating". After that, I decided to tell people I am getting my gallbladder removed and that I need to go on a special diet before hand to make it easier to see inside me. Everyone has been ok with that so far. I said I am getting it done at home too, I am actually self pay in Mexico. I do plan on telling people once it is said and done - I just don't want to have to deal with more judgment before I do it. I am sorry you have to keep it a secret too, I know it sucks!

    Hair Regrowth

What exactly do you use? Is it the shampoo or a serum? I too would like to do preventative care! Thanks!
  10. That is so great! I have been hanging onto a few pairs of way-too-small-for-me-now-pants and am excited to see when I can fit back into them! I hope I have as good of weight loss as you have so far!

    Mexico Sleevers?!

My surgery, that I have scheduled for March, is $5,000 with Dr. Kelly. I live in California anyway, Santa Barbara infact, so it wasn't so big of a deal for me. My insurance wouldn't pay, I am a student at UCSB so we have bad coverage, and in most of California the cheapest was about $20,000 not including hospital stay. For me it was a better choice especially because I would have to travel to LA or SF to get my surgery anyway.
  14. Hey everyone! I am new here, but thought I would let you know about the Tria. I have been using it off and on for a few months and have seen a big difference in my leg hair!I am sure if I used it more frequently and continually it would work better. I started a little on my face but only use it around my mustache and chin area. I am too afraid to use it on my cheeks or close to my eyes! Too bad the facial hair doesn't fall out!
  15. Hi everyone! I am new to this forum and have been looking into getting my sleeve done in Mexico. I had a question about Dr. Kelly in TJ, I have received an automated reply from him stating that they would pick me up from the airport and take me to the office. I am not flying though, I live in California and was hoping to drive and be picked up by the border. I know other doctors do this and was wondering if anyone had made other arrangements with Dr. Kelly to do this. Any info would be great! Thanks!
