I totally did! I didn't have any pre surgery requirements until 12 hours before surgery so I ate till my hearts desire. Went up 16 pounds by the end of it all but it was totally worth it because I had no cravings or real wants for anything afterwards and now 3 weeks out tomorrow I am down 35 pounds.

I go in on Thursday, and I also have had a slight cold for the past week or so, talked to my surgical coordinator about it and she says as long as it has not effected your breathing, or is something bronchial then you should be fine. My surgeon won't do it if it's accompanied with a fever or bronchial issues.

Hahaa! Exactly "Oh yeah, let's go to the gym and maybe a little run; We'll show them how easy this is". Such an excellent point. When they say "it's a tool" it truly is just that. It's the same as a kettle bell, a treadmill or a measuring cup, it simply aids in the process YOU still have to make the right choices, use tremendous will power and do ALL the work!
Great post! and good luck to you in reaching your goals :-)

Congrats on all your success, it's always good to hear when people are doing so well and the band is doing what it's suppose to do!

Congrats on all your success! You sound like you're on the right track. I agree with the nurse with regards to your weight loss progress, the human body is an amazing machine, smart too, it's figured you out and may have gone into its own maitenance phase, so I think your strategy of focusing on low-carb, high-protein sounds good. (NOT a doc, jus love to read about nutrition and exercise). Many blessings to you in 2012 and beyond :-D

Congrats on doing well today! It's always a one-day-at-a-time mind set that gets me through. I hope 2012 is indeed the year you reach all your goals and more! Best of blessings to you!

My faith teaches me that nothing happens without the will of God. And if it brings about good then you can rest assured that it is a blessing from God. It also reminds me that Satan is very aware of human consciousness and our fears. he (Satan) has been around a long time and knows what to whisper to a person to make them doubt a decision that might lead them to glorify God in a way they've never been capable of doing.
Just imagine how wonderful it would be for you to not carry around a ton of weight, how much easier it would be for you to praise and worship God, how grateful of a servant you would become and how high your confidence would soar. Satan knows that if he can keep you in this state of mind in body (spirit) he can keep you away from God.
God creates, man manipulates. If there is a tool out there that can help you reach your weight loss goals you should thank God for His mercy on those of us who thought we were doomed to this unhealthy state of physical self, that He has given us the knowledge to create the tools to cure ourselves.
God bless you and keep you in a positive state of mind! :-D

LOL! "I'm a tree" Well if you're an everyday tree than I'm a sequoia because I'm 6'1!! and haven't seen 192 since the 3rd grade!!! I Have been moving up the scale since. Now after 2 babies and a wonderful life I'm in the 300's and well...height doesn't hide everything (as you can attest to :-) Anyway, have you decided to get the surgery or are you still researching?

Those are some awesome NSV's! I hope those late nights and weekends get easier as you continue to gain more will power. It's great that you've even been able to at least recognize your threats, now you just have to figure out how to guard yourself from them. Good luck on your journey :-D

Good luck. You know, I understand exactly how you feel. For years I worked out 7 days a week an hour to 2 hours a day with very little weight loss. I did struggle with portion control and sweets but for the most part I was pretty under control. I would be beside myself when I'd worked out so hard and would gain, although I would chop it up to muscle gain (with a six foot one frame, I have more muscle than the average woman anyway), but I would still feel frustrated because it was the loss of pounds I was looking for. Anyway, I had my surgery March 28th of this year and so far I've lost 42 pounds. I think you, like so many of us who worked their butts off before getting the surgery, will be a great success story. Again, good luck to you and I hope for you all the success and triumphs that you can't even imagine :-)
