    Good luck to you!
  2. I just had a grilled chicken wrap from McDonald's for lunch today. That's the only thing I order from them, along with the tea and I tear away the excess tortilla. I don't think it's too bad of a choice. Per the Livestrong website - McDonalds grilled chicken wrap with Ranch is 270 calories, 18 grams Protein, 26 g carbs. So its a little high on the carbs side, and I suppose you could choose a different dressing, but I love ranch. I'm not stressing too bad over carbs right now.

    I Want Sushi

I think I was 6 weeks out when I began eating sushi again, I started with the sashimi and then had sushi with light rice. I could only eat 2 pieces then. Now I can eat 4 pieces as long as it is light on the rice. (I'm 10 weeks out now)

    Free Ipod Touch Contest!

Hello Alex, can we get some points for having an updated ticker on our signatures? When I first joined, it really helped me when I knew how much someone started out at, and how far along they got in various lengths of time.
  5. Congratulations! Welcome to the loser's bench....let me scoot over and make room.....lol
  6. I just got a body wrap today and I lost 31&1/2 inches total from my body. I can definitely tell the difference, especially in my pants. I wore tight pants just for the purpose of seeing if I could tell physically afterwards. I have gotten body wraps before and I have done really well with them, back when I was losing weight on my own prior to gaining it back. I plan to get body wraps at least monthly. I have a goal of losing 20 more pounds by the fourth of July for my vacation, and I want my body to reflect all of the pounds lost. Some of these tips really do work, but like the OP said, all things don't work for all people.
  7. I got a month off using short term disability. I got my PCP to submit the paperwork for my disability claim, and I showed her the paperwork I got from Dr. Garcia in Mexico. It went fine. They did not consider my surgery as elective because of my comorbidities, although it was not covered on my medical insurance.

    African American Sleevers

I know about the social group, but it is hard to locate, and it seems like there is more activity on this thread than there is on that group. Maybe if it was listed as a special interest group with a listing on home page, it would get more activity.

    African American Sleevers

Yes, I know about the social group, it is a little difficult to find, and there is not much activity there. It should be listed under the special interest groups, so it can be seen on the home page, and more people would know about it.

    African American Sleevers

Hello All, I'm wondering why African American Sleevers is just a thread instead of a subforum on its own within the Special interest support groups. There are a lot of different subjects related to our experiences, and just adding to one thread it's difficult to keep track of all the topics that are brought up here. Do we need to put in a request somewhere?

I'm not natural, but I only relax my hair 2 or 3 times a year, and I've been leaning towards going natural, I just don't know what products to use or how to care for it in that state. I love natural styles. I have been wearing a lot of braids lately, and right now I have puffy twists. Favoredone, I may have to msg you to get more info on natural hair care if I decide to go ahead and do the big chop.
  12. I am in the same boat, my 18/20s will be falling off of me literally in a minute. I'm in the Garland area.
  13. That is absolutely wonderful! I have now gotten to the point that I am happy too. For a while there, it seemed like everything was getting stuck in my chest and I was miserable every time I ate.

    Marriott In Tijuana

Wow, I loved the Marriott - it was extremely nice, and clean. The beds were heaven. The staff is very courteous and I tipped them accordingly.

    Becareful!

Hi Andkel! How's everything going? Yes, I've already had a few incidences of people trying to sabotage me, or expressing jealousy. One girl even told me, "The more weight you lose, the more I'm gonna hate you". I didn't know how to respond. She said it in a joking way, but I know there was some honesty in the comment.
  17. I've noticed something when I go out to eat with my friends now since I've had surgery. They really pay attention to the amount of food that I eat, and then they try to eat a small amount of their food also. Or they ask me what I'm ordering and they get the same thing. I don't like all the attention being placed on what I'm eating or not eating. I just like to enjoy being out and socializing. I have one friend in particular that I was hanging out with yesterday who knows that I recently had WLS, but insisted that she wanted to eat at Raising Cane's, which has absolutely nothing that I can eat, even though she had just eaten there the day before. I told her I couldn't eat there, and then I told her what places I could eat, and she says those are all sit-down restaurants, and she doesn't want to go to a sit-down restaurant. I was pissed, I sometimes can't believe the level of her selfishness. I mean, is it wrong for me to ask that we go somewhere that we BOTH can enjoy????
  18. I am six weeks out, and I used to have a glass of wine daily, mixed drinks sometimes on weekends. I stopped drinking when I started my pre-op diet, and last weekend I had my first drink(s) since surgery. I really don't have as much of a desire to drink as I did before, and I can nurse one drink for most of the evening, as opposed to having several drinks in a sitting pre-surgery.
  19. It probably would be best to go ahead and give up smoking. Since you are starting a new life, now is the best time to commit to better health in general.

    Eating Out With Friends

Raising Cane's only has fried chicken strips and french fries. That pretty much is the extent of their menu. They don't even have grilled chicken. Just fried stuff.

    Eating Out With Friends

Thanks guys, normally I would have just gone on my way and eaten elsewhere, but we were driving out on a day trip and I was riding in her car, so basically at that point I didn't have much choice. It won't happen again, though. I should have taken some snacks that I could eat with me.
