Ms skinniness got a reaction from nina1562 in California? Anyone...ツ
Caligirl, My niece had her surgery with Dr. Ali and she is doing great. Lost a lot of weight and still losing, she's 1 year post opt. I also attended his orientation and I loved him. My surgery was October 4, 2011. I have also done fine also. I have reached my doctor's goal and surpassed it by some. But my personal goal is yet to come. Only a few more pounds. You will do fine.....Let me know how you do and if you have any questions, please feel free to ask....

Ms skinniness got a reaction from niseym in has any one else not had success ? :(
It is frustrating. I think when you started hitting stalls you gave up and felt like a failure. you weren't a failure it was normal to have stalls. Now is the time to seek therapy to help with these issues. i agree with detoxing and a going back to a high Protein diet, eliminate sugars and carbs..... Sugar is addicting and is very toxic for our bodies. Sugar is my demons so I stay away from it. I will read all products and eliminate anything that has sugar in it. I have sugar and I want more sugar.....When I did eat sugary things, I would gain weight. I also eliminated all corn and starchy vegetables from my diet. My daughter used to raise steers and lambs and what they did to fatten them up, they fed them corn........So that's off my list of things to eat......If you want to get the weight back off, it's your decision to make.......You can do 1) seek therapy and 2) get back to basics of protein first then non starchy veggies........ Let us know what you decide.......It is your decision. we can support you here on VST.

Wow, this is a struggle after reaching goal. I have gained and am having difficulties getting back on track. Sigh...it is helpful to read about our struggles. For me, I have to start over with the basics. I just can't get my head into this. Makes me really sad and frustrated too.

I hate to say it, but it's nice to have some company with this situation. When I first started gaining, I was alone.
We can fight better together!

"If you think you might fail then yes, you might. But if you KNOW you will succeed then you will."
There is a similar weight regain discussion going on another forum right now. One of the best posts was from someone who suggested that once you are at goal, you make going even one pound above your bounce range totally unacceptable. You take action immediately to drop that extra pound. You do not accept 2 pounds or that turns to 5 pounds and that turns to 10 and the next thing you know you are obese again. This is what I've always done, but turned out to be an "AHA" moment for several members.

I guess you have the right attitude for your limitations but i am wondering why you sign in as 'helpless'. Do you need noodle lashing too?

I definitely need to exercise. I wonder how long I can keep this up. I am 63. I put some back on and I could not take it off no matter what I did. Now that I am back to the gym, the scale is starting to move down a little. It's depressing that this battle is one I will be fighting the rest of my life.

Right now, I am up nearly 20 pounds from my lowest weight (which wasn't my goal weight). Since Nov. 2015, I've been running from class reunion to Dad's knee replacement surgery, then, Christmas. Before the decorations were put away, my 10 month old granddaughter had a heart Cath procedure , then one emergent open heart surgery, then another open heart surgery a week after that. During all those weeks I had people coming and going at my house because my son and his family live about three hours away. I was glad to have them, and can happily report that my little granddaughter is doing well but is still on oxygen for now. What did that have to do with my diet? Well, food was my comfort, and I just let go of trying to have any self -control over my eating. It's incredibly hard to start over, but I'm going to do the five day sleeve test to get some momentum. Do you know any groups for us weight gainers? I know it happens, I just want to stop it.

Kathy...hugs
But the moment my scale moves up i feel like i failed. I need to work that idea out of my head. I feel ugly. I cant look at myself. I spent all the years before surgery not looking. I just was astounded to realize i look pretty good. Now i cant stand to see my body or face.

I HAVE to work out at least (45mins to 1 hour) 4-5 times a week to just maintain my weight. I have learned that "watching" what I eat is not enough alone. I'm almost 6 years out and have maintained my weight since I started working out 3 years ago.

@reallyrosy- I understand what you are saying and you're right. I just don't understand how I can lose all this weight doing the same thing and then gain 20 of it back doing the same thing. I do 25 grams of good carbs or less a day. I stay away from bread rice and potatoes. I follow "the rules" it just stinks!

Ms skinniness got a reaction from Cervidae in Smoking After Gastric Sleeve Surgery
Mommamea; I hope that you decide to not smoke anymore. You have chosen to get healthier and you must have given it up for a while. I know that this is a stressful journey for you, but it's like switching from one addiction to another. Call a friend instead of taking a puff on a cigarette, you will feel better later on. Write something on this site discussing the triggers to taking a puff off a cigarette. I can see you stomping on that urge and being successful. After all, it wasn't easy getting to this surgery. We had to jump through alot hoops and then some. The decision lies in your hands.... Happy New Years!!!

@proud grammy...i am not so confident when i gain weight that i will get rid of it.im back over 200...was 207. Today: 205. Have no idea what helps at this point. Feels like I'm back to square one. Surgery does not consider these issues years out. i was sleeved 2011. My lowest was 185. Held onto 193 for a long stretch. Now 205. I feel like i need another surgery

When I am being bad, I'll have a WW fudesicle,100 calorie pack of cocoa dusted almonds, a sf pudding, etc . You get it. Anything and everything.
Right now I am trying really hard to take the regain off, so I'm remembering not being able to get my pants up when I think about eating in the evenings.
-
Ms skinniness reacted to Oregondaisy in Weight Gained Since Having Gastric Sleeve Surgery
I am sure I gained weight for all of the reasons that you mentioned.
It's so easy to just join right in and eat when everyone else is eating junk. There are days when I am tired of it all, like Rosey mentioned, and I just don't care. I want to eat what I want. Then there are those 100 calorie packs.
I can start in the evening with one of the planned Snacks and go right on all evening long eating one thing after another.

Ms skinniness reacted to sleeve 4 me in Weight Gained Since Having Gastric Sleeve Surgery
For me it was just eating whatever I wanted to eat without weighing myself and not sticking to the program like I needed to. I still can't eat a lot but it was what I was eating. I started this post to find out if we could gain weight back and unfortunately found out that you can if you fool around with the eating. Stay on track. Stay focused. Weigh yourself to be accountable. And don't eat those slider foods. It will catch up to you. I got 6 lbs under my goal weight. And now I'm 19 lbs over my goal weight. Best wishes to you.
