    Going back to work?

I am planning 4 to 6 weeks. I have a combination job. I work at a desk, but walk about 5 miles at work too. This past weekend, was my first week back from band and port removal and I still have discomfort when walking. I took 3 weeks off and I needed all 3 of them. I am only assuming that I will also need double that for bypass.

    Drinking water..

Good try. Don't try and get the answer from me. If you'd paid attn to all that was told to you during this LIFE CHANGING process...you would not be trying to to surf around for the answer to something as simple as why can't I eat and drink at the same time...seriously. What were you trying to accomplish by posting what you posted on this thread? If you weren't going to help her why say anything at all? If you have nothing positive to add to this thread then why comment with something negative? Seriously...since you know and remember everything you were told, help a sista out instead of in some aspects bashing people. Be of assistance and value. Your comments were really unnecessary and not helpful at all. Find some compassion for others. Just keeping it real.....Like I said...if you want to think i amRude and get your panties in a bunch...then I can't help you with that...I don't sugar coat what I say...learn the process before you make a decision like this one...and that would avoid you asking such obvious and stupid questions.... What may be considered stupid to one person, may not be to another. There is no such thing as a stupid questions. The only stupid question is the one that is never asked. Just sayin' I think at this point, you are one of those people that need to find some love and happiness in your life. I hope that some day you find it. Please don't belittle people because they ask questions that they don't know. This forum is to help and support others. If you feel like you need to belittle or degrade someone, you may need to find a totally different forum to respond with hateful remarks, but I can assure you that place is not here. Have a nice day
  6. Wow 6 months with nutritionist, that is incredible!!!! especially with all the info you can obtain. I get 1 visit with mine. But, with my insurance....I allowed 3 visits per year every year if I choose. Most people don't take advantage of it.
  7. I had my band removed August 10th and I have lost 8 pounds. I am currently waiting to revision to bypass. My surgeon even told me that I would probably gain weight after removal since my hunger and cravings will come back. However, I will not allow that to happen. I am still watching my calories 1500 or less and doing Zumba 3 times a week, walking, and dancing 4 times a week, and weight training 2-3 times a week. I have until November before removal and my goal is another 10 pounds loss before then. The only person that can prevent that from happening is myself; )
  8. That's great to hear! How did your appointment go? Did you get all of your questions answered?
  9. I like that "false advertising" lol. I am down quite a bit of sizes and I have very saggy breast tissue. My band size is small a 32 but the breast fat that has to be scooped up in a bra is a H cup...go figure. I don't know about breast augmentation but my back hurts and it's a sad sight. If your back hurts and you have gone to the doctor about it, as long as there is documentation....you might be able to get a breast reduction done and your insurance could foot the bill.
  10. On the left side of your facebook there should be your lists and the groups will be on the left, you just click on the group. If you are having trouble, and still can't find it, I can give you my phone # and I can walk you through just let me know
  11. I work at a hospital and bring my big 52 ounce jug of water with me and I have never had any issues. The good thing is, Joint Commission doesn't come every day thank god! The longest I have seen them there is a week during the day. I would check on being able to bring a bottle that has a lid.

  14. My husband vapes. I have vaped before just for the flavor with no nicotine, to help curb hunger cravings. Vaping doesn't have the harmful carcinogens like cigarettes do. Congrats on quitting! I don't see that it would cause any problems if you are just vaping PG/VG and flavoring only, at 0 nic level. What is your PG/VG mix?
  15. This was a great post. Sadly most of society is naturally and initially judgemental I still assume that whenever I go out to eat, or go shopping at the grocery store, or eat in front of others that I think that they are thinking "she shouldn't be buying that or eating that" I feel guilty. I have also ate in private for fear of what others may say or think! Why do I care about what others say or think? Because those things can be hurtful, although yes... I shouldn't be buying that or eating that. I am hoping over time, my self confidence will improve. I will always empathize naturally because I am a nurse and genuinely care about others.
  16. @ Does everybody get abdominal binders for bypass? I thought that was for open procedures. How long do you need to wear it?

    Surgery in two days

@SunlnUT ...Well, I vomited everything I ate for a little over 9 months and knew there was something wrong. When I started having problems, I vomited a few times a day. After he removed all of my fluid, the vomiting got worse to all foods. It was terrible. Heartburn all day every day, if I ate and if I didn't eat. But now that I know , it makes sense as to my symptoms
  18. So glad you got that band removed! I am sure you feel better without it. Congrats on the 60 pound loss in 3 months!!!! That is incredible! Whoot !!!!
  19. Bariatric Advantage and Celebrate Vitamins have a a yummy calcium chew. Chocolate, caramel and lemon. They are delish!!!
  20. I wonder for how long?
  21. Anyone cold? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller? (Not sure if anyone will get the Bueller reference) lol

    Surgery in two days

@SunlnUT mine was dilated as well. Apparently my band was actually positioned too high in the first place then slipped up onto the esophagus.

    Submitting to insurance

I have a self insured through the hospital that I work for. The only bad thing is that I have to stay in network. It's really good insurance, but they keep raising rates every year! Lol . It used to be 100% paid no deductibles, but for the past 4 years they have kept raising the cost.
  24. @ I am so glad you are ok and that the surgery went well. I am so sorry that you are in pain. It will improve with time. The pain worse than hysterectomy? Oh my gosh!!! I thought my port removal was horrible pain. I wonder if it is in comparison or better than that! Can they give you Popsicles instead of jello?
