  1. I am having surgery June 29, and I plan to go back to work on July 5. I work behind a desk and see a few patients each day, so hopefully, it will be ok. I want to save my days off for vacation, not surgery, so I am going to tough it out.
  2. Thanks, I was on the 22nd, but I moved mine so my time off fell on the Fourth of July holiday.
  3. Moving my date to June 29 with Dr. Kelly in Mexico. I'm from DFW.

    Feeling Bad? Have Some Food

Ughhhh. I know exactly how you feel. I had a bad afternoon at work today. My boss said, "nothing a glass of wine can't fix." I immediately replied, "or a piece of cheesecake."

    Dr. Kelly On July 20Th

Agreed - do the best you can. I put "unknown - above average" for some of the responses. I remember when I started noticing I was heavier than other kids in about 3rd grade. I also remember my first grade pictures were a normal weight.

    Any June Sleevers?

My insurance will not cover the surgery. I looked into surgery in the DFW area and Mexico. Reading all the reviews on the forums about successful surgeries in Mexico prompted me to consider going.

    How Much Can I Lose?

I'm 5'1" and told my PCP that my goal was 130. He said that I would be lucky to see 160. I don't understand why he thinks my goal isn't obtainable. I was 120 through college. I certainly don't think 160 is healthy for 5'1".

    Pcos?

Spironolactone hasn't worked for me. It was supposed to help with the acne and hair growth. I think it is because my doc put me on 25mg QD, and she said that she wouldn't raise it because if 25mg a day didn't work then a higher dosage wouldn't work??? Errrrrrr.... Some of my hair is blonde, some dark, but very course. I can't stand the feel. I pluck daily. I think the acne is worse for me. I had such clear skin. Never had acne as a teen either. I'm glad to hear that surgery helped. I'm looking at June 22, but I haven't confirmed it yet.

    Pcos?

PCOS is one of my major motivators for surgery. No periods in ten years. No children. Not to mention the acne and hair growth I'm hoping the weight loss will help with all these issues.
  11. I work in pulmonary / sleep medicine, and I just wanted to share my waaaaayyyy too many years of education. Most people have the misconception that you must snore loudly to have sleep apnea. While snoring and gasping for breath are symptoms of sleep apnea, there are some more subtle symptoms: headaches upon waking (lack of oxygen while sleeping), waking up to go to the bathroom (not sleeping 'deeply' enough that you wake up to go), waking up with a sore throat/dry mouth, insomnia/restless sleep, feeling tired during the day, moodiness, irritability, difficulty concentrating.
  12. This is my first post even though I've been reading here the last few months! I am a cash pay patient and have met with two surgeons. I like both of them. Physician 1 cost - $7999 - with six months of follow up / fills included. Physician 2 cost - $8950 - with twelve months of follow up / fills included. Is the extra $1000 worth 6 months of fills?
