    Major Nsv!

Whoo-hoo! Congratulations--it is such a good feeling to get into (or back into) smaller jeans!
  5. Ok, so for the last 2 weeks, I've only lost 2.2lbs (total). Disappointing to say the least, but in that time, I've noticed co-workers remarking about how "tiny" I've gotten, and I've "missed the window" on some clothes (they were too small last time I checked, and now they're too big). I read a post about your body having to readjust just like moving furniture around the room (or something like that) and I guess I'm just looking for some commiseration on barely losing but having your clothes say otherwise. I suppose I should be happy since slow loss makes it less likely that I'll have a ton of loose skin when I reach my goal weight. Also, I feel like I'm wearing sizes that I last wore when I weighed at least 15 lbs less than I do now. That was 10+ years ago, so I wonder if vanity sizing has made it so that I wear a "smaller" size now, or if my weight is just distributed differently this time around and my body really is smaller...hmmm...thanks for reading--I know there were several issues here and I hope it wasn't too confusing! Have a great day, all!

    What's Happening? (Lbs Vs. Size)

Thanks guys--that helps. Now that I think about it, back when I did weigh 135-140, nobody believed it--they thought I weighed much less, so who knows! Whatever it is, it's nice to take up less space

    Post Op Pain Killer

I was also given liquid lortab to take at home and it worked fine to manage my pain. About the hugging--like someone else said, they may notice you carrying yourself differently if nothing else--I honestly can't remember if hugging hurt, but I do remember it being somewhat painful to lie on my stomach--not unbearably so, but I went ahead and slept on my stomach/back. Hope this helps.
  9. down 1.2 this week...SO SLOW!

  10. This is probably one of those things that differs from NUT to NUT, but I believe I was told no more than 25g/day. I rarely hit that.

    Vomiting Blood

I guess other people have had the same experience as you, but I never coughed/threw up blood, so it was concerning to me. Do keep us posted when you hear back from the nurse; I hope you find out that it's nothing to worry about. Take care.

    Nsv: Me On Film

Yesterday was my stepson's 9th birthday, so we took some pics and video of the festivities. I was nervous to check them out, but when I looked at the pictures and video, I still thought I looked "big," but I didn't feel like I looked "sloppy" and I wasn't disgusted and sad after looking. That's a pretty big deal for me--so yay!

    Period Related (Tmi)

I've not had anything like that happen, but it sounds like you're losing a lot of blood...do you have a PCP yet you can go see? Hope it gets better soon...

When Can We Eat Green Salads

I'm about 4.5 months out and I recently started trying salad greens. It went down fine--it's not really that they disagree with me, it's more that with having to prioritize protein, I rarely have room for "extras" like that. But I missed the taste of salad, so I had some. Same rules apply--chew really well, pause between bites to help gauge when you've had enough...hope this helps.
  20. packed up 3 big garbage bags of clothes for goodwill this weekend...

  21. Kiki, now that you mention it, I did end up having to get more blood drawn by the hospital where I had the surgery--I think it was 1-2 days before the surgery--but it was pretty simple: they took the sample, gave me these wipes to wash with after a shower the night before and morning of, asked a bunch of questions, and sent me on my way. That must have been included in my self-pay amount, because I don't remember getting a bill for it.
  22. I did my preop testing at a different hospital because preop was covered by insurance but the surgery itself wasn't. The doctor gave me an order for specific testing to take to wherever I wanted to get the testing done. I don't think the hospital would care why you were doing it there, as long as they got paid

Self Pay Vsg Us Based Surgeons

I was self pay in KY and paid about $16,500, including hospital stay for 2 nights, anesthesia, etc, and 180 days of post op office visits. My pre op testing was covered by insurance, as was the post op bloodwork.
  24. Once a week I drink Smooth Move tea after work. By morning (sometimes in the very wee hours), things are definitely moving. I had issues before surgery though, and things are pretty much the same...
  25. gained 0.6lbs this week. gonna blame it on good ole TOM, be glad it wasn't more, and keep it moving!
