@EBrown . . . I was banded on the 8th. My incisions (I have 6) are just now starting to itch. However there should be no pain at the sight of the port. Is the skin red and warm to the touch? If so - you could have an infection. If so, call your Dr.
Congrats Miss Jay!!
You have fabulous attitude and I believe that is a huge part of this journey. The band is our guide, a healthy positive attitude propels that guide forward whereas a negative attitude acts like an anchor and weighs us down or stops us dead in our tracks.
Keep that sunshine outlook!
I'm with Shirley Jean - I am confused just a bit. I was banded on the 8th Nov. My first fill is scheduled for 12/27 and would like to know what I should or could be doing until then food/diet wise. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Good Luck All. I just returned from my cardiologist and I am down 28 lbs between the pre-opt diet (1week) and surgery (Nov 8) - I am sooo pysched! And this is easy to follow and obey the guidelines. We can all do this and we will truly be the Biggest Losers!!
Good Luck to all those who will be banded this week. Hang in - think positive - listen to your Doctors - and go for it with gusto!
Mine will be on one week tomorrow and already it seems soo much longer. After a couple of days of rough patches - I turned a corner and feel fabulous. Yea!
Positive vibes heading out to all who recently banded and about to be banded (oh and of course everyone else too!)
@ Hopefloats - you seem to have been given good solid instructions for positive weight loss. I was given the same. I agree it is amazing to see the variations of advice - but if you trust your Dr then you will trust what he/she tells you to do. Use your logical compass and move forward. That's what I am doing. I am down 22 pounds since my pre-opt diet started end of Oct. I was banded on the 8th and although I hit a few bumps in the road initially after surgery - it has turned around and is now full speed ahead. Good luck.
What works for one may not work for another. Look for support among friends here, follow your Dr instructions, make that decision to eat healthy (Pringles - really?) and be happy with the newly evolving you. ~ My two cents worth
I am 4 days out - the worst is the first few - last night I turned a corner and feel sooo much better. I had a hard time taking in what I was supposed to without feeling nauseous but I was the exception to the rule. (of course haha) Lots of energy today. Good Luck!!!
Banded on the 8th - sore, swollen and tired - sleeping on and off since Tuesday afternoon. But Happy too. Have to force myself to take in my water and protein - have no desire for it except for the knowledge that it is crucial for recovery. Fabulous doctors and hospital staff - can't say enough wonderful things about them. Glad I was there overnight. More later . . . .
Leaving in about 15 minutes to head to the hospital for my surgery which is scheduled for 2pm. Mixed bag of emotions - nervous, excited, happy - knowing that I am on the threshold of a new life - a mulligan. Sigh . . . Life is Good!
Tomorrow (11/8) is my BIG day! 2pm. Nervous and excited at the same time. So wish me luck and I'll get back in a day or two to let you all know how it went.
