  1. Love your list!!! I'm 16 days post op and I can relate to us thinking we know "how" to sip etc. I have realized that when I'm not crazy hungry all the time, I choose healthier things to eat because they taste good. Like two days ago I tried canned peaches with cottage cheese for the first time in my life AND it was goood! lol! At my office someone brought in a cake and I thought, my peaches taste better than cake and I really meant it. WEIRD!! My biggest struggle right now is getting enough protein and fluids. Therefore I continue to be exhausted all day, every day. Ooofta! Thanks for your post! Loved it!

    I need serious help here...

I'm a nurse and my first question would be "Do you still have your gall bladder?". If you do, you may be having biliary colic which may indicate gall bladder stones. It's common for gall bladder problems to follow dramatic weight loss. No matter what, I strongly urge you to see your doctor today! Sure it could be a virus but even if it's just that, you NEED to replace fluids. It's hard enough for us "sleevers" to get enough fluids in. We can't spare ANY to diarrhea or sweating. Big hugs, Lisa
  3. I agree. I think that's fine as long as you are getting your nutrition. Our bodies do amazing things. Sometimes we like it and sometimes we don't. LOL

    Male NSV here (possible TMI)

That is awesome! I don't think that's TMI but I am a nurse so I've heard and have seen almost everything. I'm happy for you and your SO.
  5. Thanks ladies for your suggestions and support! bikerchick, I'm a biker too, I can't wait to ride next summer with a new riding jacket. Previously, I couldn't find one that was stylish and fit my wide midsection. But next year.....I will have all the choices in the world. These are the things I try to focus on when I start to get feeling low about having no energy right now. I contacted my nurse from MX and she said I really need to get at least 70g protein every day and have my labs checked by my local doctor. However, I am in total agreement...this is the most fatigue I have ever felt! Stay in touch!
  6. 2 days postop, everything is great! The people here are wonderful and very professional. We have become like family!

  7. I had my surgery yesterday. I slept like crap last night because the pain medicine was not sufficient. Plus they cleaned the floor during the night and the cleanser gave me a bad headache. Today I feel a little better. I've taken in tiny sips of water and had about a half of a freezy three times. I still have a drain in my abdomen but it's not bothersome. The pain is still not under control. I would suggest bringing your own liquid pain medication from your own doctor. The pain is keeping me from moving like I should. They give Toradol here and that's ALL. I suppose one could bring liquid tylenol but it may be hard to get it all down. Most adult liquid tylenols require you take a couple table spoons for an effective dose. Right now all I can take in is a tiny sip every 1-2 minutes. It would likely take 10 min to get all that tylenol in but it would help. I will post again for you later. I need to go walk around some more to move the gas through. You will have lots of gas pressure in your abdomen, chest and instestines. Walking does help move it through. Keep me posted on your journey. Take care.

  14. I'm excited and nervous for my surgery. I can't wait for my back to start feeling better when there's less weight to carry. My discs are gonna be so happy! Lol. I look forward to being able to go sliding with my kids, ice skating, biking and more. I'm tired of watching from the sidelines cuz I'm too out of breath or may hurt my back. I have lots of support. My husband and friends are here for me. I am so lucky. I look forward to making friends on here on being supportive to others. My surgery will be done in Mexico cuz insurance companies don't take in to account spinal disc bulging as sufficient reason to pay. I can tell you the daily pain and other problems my weight has caused seem plenty sufficient to me. I plan to take before and after pics then post them. I have enjoyed seeing other peoples pics so I should what's right and give back. Ohhhh they will be hideous but oh well. Well good luck sleevers and take care.
