I've been banded since the 13th and have already dropped 10 pounds, I have a hard time swallowing pills but everything else is going down just fine. I have very little pain and never had any really bad gas pains...thank goodness. I am hungry but I just keep on drinking. Congrats to everyone who has crossed over to being banded and good luck to everyone still to have it done this month it is so worth it

Congrats on getting your lap band. I got mine on December 8th and it does take a lot of internal strength to get through the liquid diet. It is well worth it in the long run (that's what I keep telling myself)! My son is leaving in February to go to Basic Training in the Air Force and he will be gone for 3 months. I would like to surprise him when he comes back by losing some weight. I have been heavy my whole life and obesity runs in my family. I lost 10 lbs in my pre-surgery diet and I am now 235 lbs. My husband has been very supportive and we cash paid for the surgery. I don't enjoy exercising or sweating, but I have been told once you get into the routine you crave exercise. Today is my day!! I check in at 6:45 & am scheduled for surgery at 8:15. Getting kinda nervous now!

This has been a crazy few weeks for me I finished the last of my "tests" on 11/11 everything was sent to inurance last Tuesday then Monday of this week I was approvedby BCBS yesterday the surgeon had a cancellation for the 13th and they asked me if I wanted it...didn't have to ask me twice!!! I found out today I am the last surgery for 2011,,,thank heavens for small miracles. Started the pre-op diet today and it isn't too bad.
