  1. Hi There! I was sleeved in the UK on Aug 18th 2011, I found the pain was o.k better than I thought, I just was retching quite alot afterwards and seemed full of air!! this got better over the first few hours and I had good pain relief!! (remember you get no medals for putting up with pain!) I just think you have to have good communication with your nursing team, I had the most amazing post op nurse and although I felt rough se was with me thoughout. I am now at 7 weeks post op, and 2lb shy of loosing 2 stone , I have bought new clothes and feel amazing. So chin up and go for it... you will be great and feel fitter in a realatively short space of time. Best wishes Ann
  2. Rosiegirl, Ooooo! that brings back memories, I am six weeks post op 24lb lost. I did go through the hunger pang pains to start with but, I was soo sore and washed out with painkillers that I didn't want to really eat. Now I find through experimenting,( which I know I shouldn't so don't try it!) that all the naughty things go down well and the recommended stuff doesn't!!! I really find it hard to digest meat even if it is pureed... Here in England when you pay privately, I have found that we don't have to have such rigourous test as in the US I got referred by my Doctor had a consultation, agreed surgery was suitable then made the appointment for surgery, in done!!! six weeks check up, "is all ok," I said "yep fine", see your doctor in a week get some Vitamins and that was that. I have felt quite at a loss, that's why I was looking for support on the web! Like you I left hospital after 3 days, better at home improved really quickly in my own environment. Well at least we are done now and things can only get better, onwards and upwards, stay strong and slowly but surely! Take care and best wishes Lady Ann

    NEW TO THE SITE

Hi Coops, So nice to hear from you.. can you help me out with getting the ticker on my wall, I cannot seems to do it, any tips. You are an inspiration, loads of lost weight and still loosing. I have stalled at the moment as I have broken a rib and haven't been able to exercise, I don't want to fall into my old habits of being a couch potatoe!!!! Keep up the fantastic work and hope to chat more soon. Bests Lady Ann
  4. I have my 6 weeks post op check up today with my surgeon, and I needed to lose another 4lb to make it 2 stone lost. IT HASN'T HAPPENED!!! I've stalled. I feel rubbish....

  5. Hi everyone, I am please to have found a U.K support site. I was Sleeved on the 18th Aug 2011 and I think I am doing everything wrong after reading your stories.... I raidly got bored with blitzed food and have tried to add variety with my food. I am very social so eating out was a challenge on pureed food stuffs so I managed a childs portion of fish chips and peas the other day. admittedly i didn't eat the batter and sucked three chips and a fork full of peas but it was good!!! The only down side I have found is I am back to work ( after 10 days sort of rest) and I find my right side seems to pull by the end of the day!!! I am very tired too... My start weight was 12st 12lb, and I have health issues with high blood pressure kidney disease, gout.... I am now off most of my medication, I took 13 pills a day to start with and now I take 3. My gout has dissapeared and I have got down to 11st 4lb and it is my 6 week reveiw with the surgeon tomorrow... I had to pay privately and went to the Spire Hospital southampton and had a Mr Van Den Bossche. I look forward to any tips the U.k branch can pass on! happy weight loss. Lady Ann

    New guy here

Hey new Guy, I must be the new Girl. Not only do I struggle with my weight but I am also rubbish at anything technical so if you get this message it will be a miracle!!! I have just had sleeve surgery 6 weeks ago and honestly it is the best thing I have ever done, not the easy option by any means but once you have made that mental decision you have to go for it!!. Let me know how you get on!
