    I'm Still Learning My Body

Today I'm 7 days from my one year anniversary of being a Loser and I'm still learning my body. Just this past weekend: I've come to terms with myself that my eating habits have changed. I get angry because I want to eat more but I can't because my sleeve is full after 3 or 4 bites and by the time my stomach has settled, I don't want it anymore. I need to learn to cook in smaller portions. When we order take out, we can share one dish or I should order something others will eat because I never eat more than a handful. I shy away from dining with others because I'm done before everyone else so I sit there looking at a full plate of food waiting for the everyone else to finish. Also, something that never use to happen, now, I KNOW, I'm leaving with a doggy bag! Thing I use to love to have I don't anymore, things I want to have I can't. I no longer love chicken. I can eat a few bites and then call it a day. When I see pasta's, mac and cheese, lasagna, spaghetti, I'd love to have it! BUT I no longer can tolerate pasta. STILL love, love, love ice cream/frozen yogart, cookies, cakes and salads...BUT the sweet stuff ....and something about lettuce is like a laxative to me. Once eaten it only takes 3 minutes to hit my sleeve and send me running. (Literally!!) I've come to terms with myself that I must take vitamins daily. When I miss them for more than 3 days, I'm runned down and useless. I don't sleep well and I have no energy to do anything. I've come to terms that my weightloss will be slow and NOT always steady, that now, I need to work out more to get faster weight loss results and to tighten up and build muscle. I've come to terms that with my loss, I will have some saggiing skin and I will need to make a decision in the future if another surgery is something I want to do. AND, today I've learn to listen to what my body is saying...and go with it. I can't stay with old habits good or bad, if my body says go left, then left is where I'm heading. This is an exciting and frustrating time but I'm sure some day soon, I will master me once again.

    Weight Gain

I gained a couple of pounds when I went on solid food. My Nut told me to stop having the Protein drinks because I was taking in too much protein. I did and started loosing again. I also found I had to change up my food for higher protein intake to keep from feeling hungry. I started having more nuts and cheese in controlled portions. Don't feel bad about the PJ sandwich, Try using one slice of bread not two. Best of luck on your journey!

    Getting Back On Track

Today, I take one day at a time and plan my meals so I DON'T eat whatever and boy, I know the feeling!!! I asked myself did I go thru this surgery for nothing. Do I want to remain unhealthy because I am not out of the woods with my weight yet! Yes, it's great fitting into smaller clothes. Eating whatever I want but in the "SHORT" run and I do mean short, the weight will start creeping back on. You don't want to spiral down. Do the boot camp for 7 days. It wasn't easy but it got better. And let me tell you, STRESS will kill you, I'm sure you did this surgery to live a longer, healthier and happy life. Take a look at what is stressing you out in particular and see what you can do to adjust that situation. You may not get rid of it totally but you can change the way things are happening to make you stressed. It could be as simple as rearranging your time schedule, sharing the load or just getting or staying way from certain people, places or things. You can do it, you can get back on track!

    Feeling So Weak

Yes. Right now you are not taking in enough nourishment. Do try to get in your protein and water. Dehydration happens very quickly which also plays a role in how you are feeling but the protein will help you and go a long way into recovering and loosing weight. I hope your taking your chewable vitamins as well. Once you are allowed more food you'll perk right up. No worries all sound normal.
  8. Please stay strong. I had complications after my surgery that took me 2 months to recover but not without my God, family, friends and this forum. When no one physically around me understood my pain, I expressed myself here and found some comfort from people who knew some of my pain and helped me heal by providing me with information, questions to ask my doctor, information on some of my symptoms...etc. My heart, blessings and prayers go out to you!
  9. I have to say, my weight loss has stopped. I've been the same 236-8 lbs since May. I was hoping for 10 lbs this month but that does seem to be happening. Now I'm hoping for just 3lbs!

    Hair Loss

Boy this forum is so resourceful. My thick hair has thin out a bit! I wanted to cut it but now I'm going to leave it and hope this passes soon.
  11. I'm 5 months out and the loud stomach noises still exist when having a meal. It's just a normal digestion sound to me now. when i'm really hungry and with other people i will take a small sip of water a few minutes before I eat so the noise is not so loud.

    Meals

You will definitely find what your body tells you what works for you. some days I take in 3 meals no in between and other days I do small meals every 2-3 waking hours. On those days, Im breaking up my 3 meals to eat during the day. I still make sure my meals meet the protein minimum and get in my liquids.

    Weigh In On The Sleeve

Im a little over 4 months of being sleeved, here in the Big Apple. Feeling better everyday. Congrats Chyna, I wish the best for you. Nicole I too was sleeved in September. How are you feeling? How are you handling your new life style?
  14. Feeling Great, Gonna Kick It Up!!

  15. I can't imagine this being an issue as this is a tool to help you loose weight. You control your destiny by what you put into your body. Nutritional eating, and exercising to stay toned will be your later food plan, not a weight loose plan as it should be now. I'm sure your nut will place you on a maintenance plan at that point and time. I'm at a stall right now, for the last few weeks and I now need to revisit my calorie intake and exercise to get my body loosing again. Best of luck and don't worry, you'll cross that bridge when you get there.
