  1. I understood that breast implants do not have a lifetime warranty. Surgery is required again after so many years of use, therefore I chose not to get implants. My push-up bra works wonders when I want my girls to sit under my chin. Otherwise, I love them. They may not work for everybody, but they are just right for me. I was not striving for perfection. That is not what plastic surgery means. For me, it meant improvement, satisfaction and a measure of happiness which is fulfilled from a self-esteem boost looking at the reflection of a better looking body. The rest must come from continuos work on the inside of myself, because the outside changes will only provide temporary satisfaction and happiness. My breast are important to me. I breast fed four children. It was my turn to enjoy them, right? I wanted them to be beautiful. I try to keep them beautiful too. I wear a tight sports bra, because of my thin skin and I do not want these girls dropping to the floor again, so I use plenty support. They are just right for me. Do not get me wrong, sometimes I do wish I had implants, and the way they could change the way I look, but then I think about what is going to happen when I am 65 years old and living off my pension$ My scars for the most part has blended in even more with my skin tone. My camera is on the brink, but I will see what I can do.
  2. @@Bluesea71 Thank you for understanding. You are very nice. My husband was the same way. Husband are protectors. They just want us to be safe. I was one of those special cases. I inherited my mom's thin Irish skin, plus I stretched it several times from the weight gain and pregnancies. My skin is so super paper thin. There were several things he could not do to me and had to use alternative methods. For example, he could not pull my skin super tight, otherwise my skin would have ripped apart. I went back a year later and was pulled tighter durning my thigh lift surgery just as he promised. For me he explained in great detail this was the best way specifically for me. I can not recall all the exact reasons. My body is not straight, so he had to do things a bit differently on me so that I could get the best results possible. Like I said, I was one of those special cases. (I got a little light headed durning my markup, so I do not remember everything.) I am glad I had someone who cared enough about all those little things, which added up perfectly in my favor. I healed healthy and happy, without complications. I grew up sewing with my mom. (Smile) I hemmed a lot of clothes by hand. If you are familiar with the 'blind stitch,' then you will have some general idea how he does it. Hard to explain, but all layers of sutures are internal.
  3. Why do I post more about my plastic surgery and not about my weight loss experience? Very fair question:-) My surgery for weight loss was a very personal thing for me. This was my SECOND time losing more than a 120 lbs. I gained weigh the second time after having two more beautiful children. (I have 4 kids in all) The last two pregnancies put 120lbs on me. Heck, I had to lose weight all over again! When it was time to lose the weight, I knew I could do it. Gaining it back was the problem. I never wanted to gain weight ever again! This is the reason I had weight lose surgery. I just remember the first time - it was extremely hard to lose, but I did it in a year. The second time I lost weigh was with the sleeve, it was still just as hard. When losing weight, I used this site for motivation mostly, not for posting. I never felt I had any questions or comments about weight loss, so I only posted maybe one time about it. I always read on this site about exercising and running. Plus, I eat vegan/vegetarian and so I had to use other sources of information other than this site. I also stayed in the gym and went to many boot camps. After getting up at 4am every morning, I was too tired to do anything during weight loss :-) When it was time for plastic surgery, it was extremely difficult finding a plastic surgeon that would meet my needs. It took me a year to locate my plastic surgeon. Since I have been on this site for a while now, I have seen many pictures of after plastic surgery results that have made me cry, the results were so bad. I mean awful! I felt no woman should have to suffer like that! It was not fair! We have worked so hard to achieve our weight loss goals, then a butcher of a plastic surgeon get his dirty hands on a beautiful woman and completely messes up her body. It still make me sad, mad, and upset to see someone who has plastic surgery and their results are hedious. No one should have to experience that. No one! I am still very passionate about it, as you can see. My results were very, very good! I felt people should know about my plastic surgeon, so I started to post. Why keep something like this a secret I told myself. Posting is not a easy thing for me. I am a quite person. I do it so people can know their are options. I receive no benefits from posting. I am just a person who loves and cares about people and want the best for them. I never want to see anyone hurt and deformed because of plastic surgery. I hope you understand :-)

  5. @@NewSetOfCurves Many people that have plastic surgery know there will be some amount of pain. I was prepared for the worse, but after surgery, I was surprised that I had very little pain. Many women are surprised by this fact. Yet others who undergo plastic surgery do experience quite a bit of pain. I know for each person it is different and each persons pain level is different. When I am asked for my pain level from on a scale from 1 to 10. — I am always a 10 - 10 being the worse. I do not handle pain very well at all! However, that was not the case after my plastic surgery. I had a doctor who is very delicate with the body and the skin during surgery, and that contributed to me not experiencing much pain afterwards. @@JamieLogical I agree with you that having a good positive outlook will help the body heal both physically and emotionally. Both are equally important before and after surgery.
  6. Just because some people choose not to share does not mean they are ashamed. Some people are surrounded by toxic, unloving, selfish, mean people. They have already been bullied and belittled for being fat for a long time, and they know this treatment of abuse will continue if they tell about their decision to have weight loss surgery. Each person circumstances are different and must be respected. For me, my decision not to tell anyone has nothing to do with being ashamed of my surgery. It has everything to do with the fact that I am a extremely shy person and I can not to talk to very many people, and do not like too many people talking to me. Although I am very shy, I have made a lot of improvements through out my life, and continue to try to be more out going. I just want everyone to know, just because some people choose not to share does not necessarily mean that they are ashamed, but it could be for a number of reasons. At least we had the surgery. That is the most important thing. Taking control of our lives now — today, so we can have a better future tomorrow.
  7. I seen past pictures of your arms and shoulders that were rock solid. I was 'like' whoa! (As the young people say now-a-days. Just seeing your arms and your beautiful body (I think after your PS - pics in a dressing room) inspired me to work out extra hard in the gym. You have achieved so much. Just set your mind to it, and whatever you want to do, I know it is as good as done. You are still looking good. I notice you are the only one Standing In The Front With A Two Piece-Confident and Proud! You still look amazing!!!

  9. @@bayougirlmrsc You have a long list of surgeries. I do to. (Smile:-) It seems like I have had so many surgeries, when it is time to list them all, I always forget at least one or two, or just leave them out so I will not have to list them all. I am happy I did not have to have lipo. I did not have enough fat.

    Meds for Plastics post Sleeve

My plastic surgeon gave me Arnica which helps with pain, bruising and swelling. It is natural and I did not need pain "medication" after surgery. He did have stronger meds, but I only needed Arnica 30C and 30X.

I am a Louisiana - Texas girl. I travel between the two states daily. I really do not know how old I am. I have to guess everytime someone asks me. I am either 44 or 45. My husband still tells every one I am 42 - and I do not correct him. Makes me feel young. I guess I should try to remember, but after the age of 35, I stopped keeping up. B'days just come around too fast now. Second marriage - 10 wonderful years. I have 2 sets of 2 children. First marriage — Ages 24 and 22; Second marriage — Ages 7 and 5. My baby - I finally had a boy and he looks like me too! I love my family. I love to exercise! I love to eat organic vegetarian foods. I love my job. I make most household items my family uses regularly such as bread, toothpaste, Vitamins and laundry detergent. I love it here on these boards. I am more of a reader than a poster. It helps me to stay focused, knowing I am not alone in my goals to stay healthy and beautiful.
  12. I remember my boobs were only skin and nipples. Yuck! I love them now. Only a artistic surgeon could work with the tiny breast tissue I had left, and make them beautiful and symetrical without implants. All of the other plastic surgeons told me I HAD to have implants. I really love my boobs now!

  14. Yeah, my price was quoted some time ago too. Probably best to contact Dr. Victor Gutierrez's plastic surgery clinic directly. He is very good about responding quickly to emails.
  15. I don't really care about having a round plump rear...I'm more concerned about having skinny thighs! That would be a dream...[/i] Heck, I will take the round plump rear any day! :-)

    Plastic Surgery

Congratulations on your weight loss!! I know exactly how exciting it feels to lose weight, only to be disappointed about all the loose hanging skin. Plastic surgery was definitely the next step for me. Scaring and artistic body results were my biggest concerns as well. I also wanted a caring surgeon with tons of experience. My results were beautiful and done by Dr Victor Gutierrez. He is on RealSelf.com. His reviews speaks volumes about his work and skill as a doctor. Also look at the before pictures on RealSelf.com. (Under search, type the doctors name) Here are my before and after pictures. http://www.bariatricpal.com/gallery/member/116222-sweet-pee/

  18. Congratulations on your weigh loss! Plastic surgery is usually the next big step. Mexico plastic surgeons are very popular on this site and people have been very respectable about our choices, so no worries there (smile) I chose Dr. Victor Gutierrez because he was super educated (in Jersalem) and extremely caring with tons of experience. He is located in Zona Rio, Tijuana, Mexico. He is also a micro surgeon which means his incisions are extremely straight, invisible sutures, and after healing, scars are close to invisible. My Pictures are available on this site. Also, you can read my "story" on this site as well. RealSelf.com has extremely excellent ratings, as well as before and after pictures and reviews on his past patients. http://www.bariatricpal.com/gallery/member/116222-sweet-pee/ http://www.bariatricpal.com/user/116222-sweet-pee/ http://www.dr-victorgutierrez.com http://www.realself.com/find/Mexico/Plastic-Surgeon/Victor-Gutierrez

    Breastfeeding 2 years post op

I completely understand. I was always hungry! Always! I got the sleeve when I was still breastfeeding. I was still hungry even right after the surgery. It is just something you have to endure. I knew breast feeding was the best I could give my baby, so I refuse to stop until he stopped on his own.
  20. I had surgery with Dr Victor Gutierrez twice, and both times, my cost was more than reasonable. Many have posted what they paid on RealSelf.com depending on which surgeries they had.
  21. You are right; having abs muscles are important after those two surgeries. Take it slow. Happy Healing!
  22. If he has never said anything like this to you before, nor demonstrated unkindness, and it is not a usual trend in your marriage or his normal way of speaking to you, then just give him some time. Don't get me wrong — It was a very hurtful thing for him to say, especially right after your surgery. Unthoughtful indeed! Many men I have heard refuse to touch their wives after surgery, because they think they will hurt them. Actions speaks louder than words. How is he treating you? Helping you? Did this behavior start long before the surgery? These are very important things that must to be considered. Remember, no matter what, please take very good care of yourself and your health during your recovery.

2 years out and think my gallbladder may be shot!

I as so sorry you are in pain. Take it from me, it is more painful than having a baby naturally. Losing weight is only the first step in getting our health back. Body cleansing is also important due to years of eating the wrong kinds of food. There are tons of information about flushing the gallbladder and liver through a cleanses. It may help your pain and aid in ridding your body of those stones.i know many people want to avoid surgery. This book is a treasure and a must read for everyone. I just so happen to find it on line, but you can buy it also on Amazon. http://www.truthkeeperz.com/andreas.moritz.-.the.amazing.liver.cleanse.pdf http://www.sensiblehealth.com - timeless information which has helped many regain their health. http://www.drclark.net/en/famous-liver-cleanse - this site has information on doing several cleanses.
  24. When I was searching for a plastic surgeon, I noticed a trend as well. Some plastic surgeons tend to have more of their patients suffer from complications. You certainly do not want that. It is your body! You do not want to take chances. I have also noticed some women bodies all look exactly the same after the procedure. Wow! Just because a plastic surgeon is popular does not mean he is good for you. (Example: Just because a McDonalds hamburger is popular does not mean it is good for you:) I found a wonderful, unique, experienced, caring plastic surgeon - Dr. Victor Gutierrez in Tijuana, Mexico. He has all 5 star raving reviews on RealSelf.com from ALL of his patients that have written about him. Prices are listed as well. You will notice he is artistic and each persons results are different according to the person body type. My full experience is on this site under 'Story' and pictures under 'Gallery' on this site. Check it out!
