You can look into having the surgery in mexico. I know it is a lot cheaper. I have read a lot of good thing about some of the doctors there. Alot of people on this site went there for their sleeve. Good luck.

When I talked to my surgeon, I told him I had decided on the sleeve, unless he thought I should get the bypass. He said since I asked him, he said they are both good surgeries. But if he had to have surgery himself, he would choose the sleeve. He also said, if he could only do one type of surgery for the rest of his life, he would choose the sleeve. My doctor is one of the top bariatric surgeons in Florida. He is a center of excellence doctor.
I hope this helps. I agree with Kelly, its your body, and your decision. Good luck!!

Hello everyone! I am going to be sleeved on August 30th. I live near Jacksonville, Fl. But I'm from Dothan, Al. Most of my family still live in Dothan. I know I'm too far to meet up with anyone but, I still wanted to join the group.

Does anyone know how much the network rate for the surgeon and asst surgeon is, for anthem blue cross blue shield. I have to pay 20% of the network rate. I was trying to get a guess on how much money I will need. I am going to be sleeved on Aug 30th. Thanks.

I have to follow the Adkins diet for 2 weeks before surgery. So basically no carbs. I got really lucky compared to most of you on liquid diets!!

This is a very yummy treat.
Peanut Butter Cup
1 sugar free fudgepop
2 tablespoons of natural peanut butter
2 tablespoons of cool whip free
Put the frozen fudgepop in a bowl, and place it in the microwave for 10 secs or so, so the stick will easily slide out. Mix the fudge pop, Peanut Butter, and cool whip together. ENJOY!!!! makes one serving
