    Weight Watchers...HUH??

I did weight watcher for a little bit before surgery, and I hardly reached my points, and did not even know about the extra points until my last week, and even if I did know about the points I would not of used them. For me it was good because it was easier for me to keep track of what I was eating every week. What also helped me was when I started weight watchers I started walking a little every day. Good luck... You can do it...

I am so embarrassed- not exercising

I started with my wii fit, and I would do it for like three days , and then that was it. I found the best thing for me is to go to the gym right after work, and I'm fine. But if I go home and say I'm going to do the wii or walk, or anything, forget it. But if i change into my clothes at work, and go strait to the gym, I'm ok and feel so much better. I found women's only gym and the classes normally have like 4 to 5 people in the class so I don't feel so bad, and when I'm in the class I do what I can do and I do not over do things at all. I took a kick boxing class last night, and loved it. I'm started zumba in January. Good luck, though, and know you are not alone.
  6. Move on over here I come, to join you on the Onederland train. I have 5 pounds to go, and I am there. I'm hoping to be there before next year. lol I hope everyone is enjoying their ride.

    SLEEVED this morning

wow, you are doing real well to have been sleeved this morning. I was not up to doing much of anything for at least 24 hours after surgery. I think that is a good sign. Congrats, what a great Christmas present.

Need to get serious about exercise, AGAIN.

Yes, I'm still here I have not been on in a while, but yes I am still working out, I only went once last week, seems like every other night I had something going on. But this week I plan on going at least three times. I went to kickboxing tonight, and kicked some butt, (MINE) lol It was a good workout, and I actually didi real jumping jacks tonight. I think the beginning on the year I going to try a spin class. I wish everyone a happy , and safe holiday. My mom and dad is taking my daughter and me to New Orleans, so I will be doing alot of walking during the holidays. Last time i was there I was 277 and had a hard time walking around, and had to skip some of the tours, but not this time.

Need to get serious about exercise, AGAIN.

Ok so I have not posted anything lately, but yes I am still working out. Yesterday I had a milestone I ran/walked five miles on the treadmill. I was so excited 4 months ago I could not walk even half of that, let alone run two steps. I was feeling proud of myself. Since working out I have done a pilates class, a step class, and after a few more pounds I'm going to try spinning. I hope everyone else is doing well on their workouts.

Need to get serious about exercise, AGAIN.

Well I did not get a chance to get on here last night and post my 20 minute bicycle ride, and today I have a pilates class. First time I have ever been to Pilates, we will see how it goes.

Need to get serious about exercise, AGAIN.

I just want to let you know I actually woke up at 5:30 and went to the gym. I forgot my key to get in went all the way home got my key and then went back to the gym. I did the stationary bike for 30 minutes, 10 minute ab work, oh and 1 minute on the eliptical machine. I did it. I could use some kick boxing right now also, just found out my daughter threw away a bag of Christmas presents worth about $60.00, I am not a happy camper right now. The worst part is she don't even seen to care that I am upset about it. ugggggghhh I want to scream.

    Living Will

I work for an attorney that specializes in Estate Planning, and I have to agree with Neanie in Texas. What my attorney tells everyone is remember Terri Schiavo a few years ago with the feeding tube, and the family fought her parents wanted to keep her alive, and her husband said that Terri did not want to remain alive under those conditions, if she had a living will there would not of been a question about what she wanted. That is one example of why Estate Planning is important. I know it is a hard subject to think about, but it is an important one. If you have any questions about any of the documents make sure you ask. Just know you are doing a good thing by being prepared.

Need to get serious about exercise, AGAIN.

I DID IT... I made it through my first class tonight. It seem to be alot easier then a few years ago, humm coud it be, because I'm 60 lbs lighter. I went to the Beginner class, for people who have not worked out in a while, and if that instructor did anymore lunges, I thought I may have to kickbox her. lol So tomorrow, I had all intentions of going, but my mom is out of town, and my dad is big baby, and is insisting on my daughter and I joining him for dinner. I may try and get up in the morning, but I'm not holding my breath. If all else fails, I will go walk on the treadmill during lunch tomorrow, and pray I do not get to sweatty. One day down, I'm so proud of myself, and everyone else, that actually worked out today. Hopefully I will be able to post something tomorrow.

Need to get serious about exercise, AGAIN.

I had my surgery in September, and even though I have been losing I have not had time to excersize, but I joined a gym, and start on Monday. So you can count me in. I know if I worked out I would lose more, and tone up.
  17. I am totally with you on the taste bud thing. I did not enjoy my Thanksgiving I took a small bite of a couple of things, and alot of turkey. I had a hard time getting anything down, as I'm still getting the nauseated feeling when I start to chew my food. My daughter and I went to a friends house, and most of her family ate like it was their last meal. Their plates were piled so high, it would of fed my mom, my daughter, and me before surgery, it was really gross, so that did not help matters, it made me feel even sicker watching the lady across from me, let me just say one word GROSS, I know I used to eat alot, before surgery, and I'm trying not to judge but she took so much food, and then wasted alot of it, after eatting quit a bit of it, but anyway. What ever I did eat on Thanksgiving I walked off. I was out of my house shopping at 11:00 pm Thursday night and did not get home until 3:30 pm on Friday. I parked the furthest from the door so it made me walk. I walked so much my feet are swollen and achy.

    Trip to TJ Maxx

I'm right there with you , I got to the point I would just not even go into my section. I was so tired of having to dress like a old lady. Since surgery that has changed, but I'm usually just browsing because I know what ever size I'm in that particular day I won't be in that size long enough to spend all that money on brand new clothes. I went shopping for size 20's one week, and the next week I was in size 18 (a little snug), but they fit. Give your self a pat on the back for skipping McDonalds, I live right around the corner from one(litterally), and I think I was addicted to the Golden Arches. Stay strong, you will be shopping in the regular misses section soon enough.
  19. I just want to let you know you are not alone. I had surgery 2 months ago and I cried the entire first night, and regretted the surgery. But I think it was the nausea that was really bothering me not the surger itself. I have been lucky and have not had depression since I had my surgery, but have read a few posts on here from people that did have the depression. If it continues make sure you let your Doctor know. I promise you it will get better. You will have good days and bad days, but when you can fit into 3 sizes smaller then you are nowm, trust me you will have a smile on your face, it is one of the best feelings I have ever had. Stay strong, and you will be fine. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

    Who is coming for dinner?

I told everyone I work with , and of course my parents knew because my mother drove me to have my surgery. I have been lucky and everyone at work is very supportive of me. I do have a slight problem, they decided to have this big Thanksgiving lunch, with country ham (which is way to salty for me), and of course alot of other items loaded with carbs. At first I thought they were going to be having a turkey, and I was fine with that because I could try and eat that. Of course I'm still have the food looks good but once I start eating, I get nauseated. So I don't even want to go, it is going to be aweful watching everyone eat, and not being able to. I am going to do the push the food around on my plate, and maybe they will have a dog I can feed under the table.. lol Funny one Blackberry. We will see how it goes. I wish you the best in what ever decision you choose.
  21. Julie, you are doing awesome. I had my surgery two months ago, and have lost same as you just a couple of pounds difference. I'm so happy for you, keep up the good work.

    Vanderbilt Weight loss

The VA was sending me through Vanderbilt, )Dr. Williams), but 4 weeks before my surgery date they decided I had to go to a VA so I ended up going to West Virginia. I have not met anyone that has had surgery at Vanderbilt everyone in my support group had it done at Centeniall. I know this was not much help , but wanted to let you know I was going to have it at Vanderbilt.
