  1. My husband and I are going through some of this ourselves. He is extremely jealous of my success only because he loved me large or small and he is afraid I will leave if I get smaller. (he has been left in the past-by others) reassure him if that is any problem and the take care of yourself....keep on trucking on loosing and doing this for you.

Thanks so much, this is my husband's story exactly! But I am trying to convince him it is about our health most importantly! No other man can compare to the one I have even though now they are looking more. My motto is, you can look but you can touch!!!!

  2. IS THIS SLEEVE BACKFIRING ON ANYONE ELSES RELATIONSHIPS? I ASKED HIM DOES HE NEED HELP BY GETTING THE SURGERY AS WELL, BUT ALL HE HAS TO DO IS EAT RIGHT, WALK A COUPLE OF MILES AND HE WOULD DROP THE 40 LBS BUT HE WONT DO ANYTHING. I FEEL LIKE I AM SAVING MONEY BECAUSE I DON'T EAT OUT LIKE I DID PRIOR TO SURGERY BUT HE IS MAKING UP FOR IT! A LITTLE FRUSTRATED EVEN THOUGH I USED TO BE THERE. ANY ADVICE?

  3. I hit 199 a few days ago and am so happy. Ill never leave onederland!!! Its hard when I look in the mirror and mentally I see myself looking the same day of surgery. Then my friends tell me that im "skinny" and look so different. Its really confusing!!!! But still woo onderland :)

    CONGRATULATION!!!!!!!!

  4. I appreciate this thread being started as I also had questions related to the VSG and hair loss (on chemically relaxed hair). I also wondered about scarring since most of us that have a darker complexions tend to have darker scars (my poor belly is going to look like a battle ground)

    Thank you, everyone, for sharing!

Marks are hardly noticeable, I am 5 months out and have had no Hair loss but I have locks. Its the bat wings on my arm that are ugly! LOL But i Love my sleeve!!!

  5. I figured I might as well update here. I surgery about 5 months ago, and overall I am happy with my weightloss. To date its about 65 pounds. The last few weeks (almost a month) I have stalled between 218-220. I keep telling myself that my body is just going to be one of those bodies that need a little more time. It was my goal to get to ONEderland within 6 months of my surgery. I don;t know if that will happen. I am actually, for the first time since surgery, on a "diet." I am hoping this jump starts my weightloss again and get me to ONEderland.

I can tell I am losing inches, but there is nothing like seeing that scale move. I haven't worked out as much due to another health related problem, so I know that is also apart of the problem. But I am still hopeful. My skin is not bad at all. The stretch markes are out and about, but I'm okay with that. My husband doesn't mind. I think my boobs are shrunk about all they will shrink (fingers crossed) and my hair is still thick and full.

I am going to get my blood panels done on July 26. That would make the 6 month mark for me.

Well that's about it. Any questions, let me know.

Hey girl we had our surgery the exact same day if I am reading this correctly 1/26/11, I am down 76 lbs with some stalls of course but we are doing great! I even had three vacations in June so I blame my stalls on that! So I am 207 and so looking forward to wonderland!!! With God all things are possible!!

  6. I am stressing a little because I went on vacation for a week and ate everything that I used to eat prior to being sleeved in 1/11 and the bad part was I didn't get sick, it was good and now I have to truly start all over! These are the habits that kept me fat all my life! I didn't stuff myself but I did eat more than three times a day and I gained 2 lbs. Anybody been there and how hard was it to get refocused?

  7. Ok did not make goal!!! I knew it would be hard with the Memorial Day holiday, a weekend in San Francisco on 6/10, vacation with the kids in Myrtle Beach the week of 6/19, and just got back from New Orleans today after being down there with all the best food in the United States. The positive is I lost 20 lbs on the challenge and down 75 lbs in 5 months. I am shooting for the same goal for Labor Day! 28 lbs and no excuses!!!!!

  8. update

SW 283 CW 210 GW 199 lbs to go 11lbs

On my way to vacation for two weeks. I pray I can pull it off!!!

Just got back from 1 week of my vacation and I did horrible! Never did so bad in my sleeve history! I am scared to leave on Wednesday for week 2, which will be the end of challenge when I return!!! What will I weigh?

    Update

SW 283 cw 208 gw 199 lbs to go 9lbs

If I loose that in a week, I will be a bad mamajama! But this challenge helps me with the next one, but most importantly I am down 75 lbs in 5 months post op!!!!!!!!!!!!
