  1. that same thing happens to me and I am four months out. When I get that feeling, I know it's not hunger (even though that's what I used to tell myself). What I do is drink something (water, crystal light, diet green tea, etc.). It helps.
  2. 4 months post op and doing well...down 70 lbs

  3. my VSG surgery is TOMORROW!!! Im excited and nervous but this has been a long road and I am ready!

    October Surgeries!!

I'm gettin sleeved on Oct. 8th!! I'm nervous and excited. I have been doing really well on my pre-op diet. My doc asked me to loose 5-10 lbs and I managed to loose 7 lbs...it's been hard but worth it!

    Aetna Aetna Aetna

my surgery is 10/8 and aetna approved me in 1 week. Had carefirst during my 6 month documentation and then my job switched insurance companies but Aetna again in 1 week approved me.
  6. you are too funny! I know how that is [forgetting your vitamins]. I had to set my clock on my cell to remind me to eat every 3 hours and my pills. it seems to work for now LOL.

my insurance company says i have to have a bmi of 50.0 or higher to have the sleeve surgery and my first appt, my bmi was 50.0! so my doctor did not put me on a diet weight-loss plan yet. i go for my pre-op appt next week yippie!!!!!!!!!!! i will find out more then. i think i should be ready for surgery late aug/early sept [fingers crossed]. i've done all the pre-op requirements and testing so the only thing that will hold me up is my labs. i am deficient in vit-D, protein, and iron. so i am working on all of that :) i lke that wii fit, that's what i do. i've been overweight since 8 so i don't remember being smaller. i remember being smaller than this but it was always overweight ya know!

  7. Hey hunny don't feel bad about visiting the site as much I've slowed down alot, just don't have much time. I'm off protein supplements so I get what i need from food now and I'm doing well with that. Honestly I am really bad about taking my vitamins, I know I have to take them to stay healthy but I can't seem to remember them some days. I have started to set an alarm on my phone to help me remember. Surgery for me was great the first 3 days I was like man this (ish) is not cool but by the 5th day I felt fine. Like most people on this site yes I would do it again in a heart beat. I have not hit the gym yet still just walking and doing my wii fit. I can tell that I need to tone up my arms have deflated and my skin is starting to hang. That doesn't bother me though I loved my body before. I had surgery to jump start healthy living. But I would like to be tighter and not so flappy (lol). Have you lost any weight pre-op? Do you have a date scheduled?

  8. Hey thanks for the add!

  9. hey Stlvoy02! congrats on your surgery! i have so bad about visiting this site. I don't think i've been on here since i sent you that message! CONGRATS!!!!! I see you have already lost 55 LBS!!! that's great. how has it been for you? tell me everything. I am having some issues now with my protein, iron and vitamin D levels being too low...so low, my surgeon put me on a Rx iron pill, up'd my vitamin d and asked me to eat 115 grams of protein PER DAY. if these levels don't increase, i don't get surgery :(

so fill me in on you! I promise to try and be better about visiting this site.

  10. Hey girl! Good luck getting everything stared keep me posted. I'm on day 4 of my 14 day liquid diet and its not bad at all.

  11. Hi Stlvoy02. I am so hopeful reading your story. My journey just began. I have met with my surgeon and started my documentation process. I wish you success on 4/19 and hope that I will be where you are in a few months!

  12. Hi Ms. IGOTFINEIN09 (I love that name by the way). I am starting my journey now. I just met with my surgeon on Friday and I am excited and nervous. I currently weigh 300 lbs and am so anxious about the unknown. Can you share your story with me a little. How did you handle telling folks or not telling folks about what you were planning on doing. I am struggling with that now. My surgeon said that I have to maintain my current weight until 1 month prior to the surgery or by my insurance guidelines, I will become ineligible if I loose 1 pound. My BMI has to be 50+ and mine is currently 50.5. I am planning on having surgery in July when my new vacation cycle kicks in. How long were you out of work for the surgery? I have lots of questions...so please keep in touch.

    Thanks!
