well i was going to have gastric bypass around 5 years ago. The office I was going to encouraged you to join a forum on yahoo. Two weeks prior to the surgery a patient died that had the same doctor I was going to have. I asked my husband what are you going to do if that happens? His reply was "I do not know". Okay so now I didnt really like the doctor, a patient dies and my husband has no idea what he is going to do to raise our children. I cancelled the surgery. I went to exercise and joined weight watchers and lost 83 lbs. After 9 months of weight watchers I stopped caring. Regained around 53 lbs and hovered. I finally started researching lap bands which is what I originally wanted but the first surgery told me I was too big for a lap band. 2010 I got up the courage to finally start thinking about it again and started with an informational meeting. Dr. Shayani made me feel comfortable and I felt confident in his abilities. I had sugery on may 2 2011.
