  3. Scheduled 9/28/11...wow, it's so real now

  4. I got the call today...Insurance Approval received!!! Pre-Op appointment next friday 9/16 so they can scheduled me...Lots' of butterflies now! :)

  5. Hi Peaches. Good luck with your journey. Put your mind at ease. The outcome for lapband is much more successful than bypass and sleeve. I know 7 people who have had bypass and all but 2 have gaines all and more of their original weight back. Those 2 other surgeries are not adjustable, so once they strech their stomach back out its streched for good. Good luck with whatever you choose.

  6. hey peaches!! good luck on your journey and thanks for the friend invite!! any question let me know :)

    Anyone afraid of Failing??

Hey, Rant away...I'm afraid of failing as well. I keep researching and researching and trying to see how many people fail. I've decided that I need to listen to what my doctor and nurse told me. "It's only a tool" If we do what we are suppose to do and eat like we're suppose to than we can do it. I've failed so much before but I think I was trying for the wrong reasons. I use to try to lose weight for my boyfriend, my kids, my mom...now I want to lose weight for ME. I want "ME" to live longer, I want "ME" to be healthy. Dig down deep and if you want this for you and you follow the rules YOU CAN DO IT! Good Luck and keep in touch

    Lap Band Statistics

I'm not banded yet...hopfully will be soon. I was wondering the same thing. Curious to see the out come
  9. It is nice to know people in the area that are going thru this too. Keep in touch and Good Luck to you as well. Sounds like you're off to a great start!
  10. I'm seeing Dr Goldstein. Do you go to the VIrtua support groups or does Dr Neff have his own groups? He was at the seminar my husband went to the other night. And he seemed very nice. I think the Virtua groups are held in Voorhees on some Mon / Thurs.

I agree...we can say the 1st bite tastes the same as the last but the reality is that we love to eat! Do you find it difficult to cook for your family and eat just the amount you're supose to? My husband and I are both just starting this journey. We planning to both have the procedure so we can do it together and I'm hoping that it might make it a little easier since we'll both have to be aware. Thanks for sharing and best of luck!
  12. Hi, I'm just starting out too. Very excited but also anxious. Maybe I'll see you at support group or something. I live in Voorhees and will be joining the Virtua New Beginings. Best of luck with your journey!

  13. I don't have a date yet. Registering for Nurtritian class & psycological eval this Thurs. Have appts set w/ Pulmonary & Cardio but not until August. Barium swallow tomorrow. I'm hoping for Sept or Oct. Who is your surgeon? Do you go to any local support groups? It's nice to find people that live near by who are going thru this also. It makes it a little easier and more real. Have you met anyone who's band failed? I'm a little scared about that. I just keep telling myself if I do what i'm suppose to it will be ok. Keep in touch and good luck with your next fill!
  14. Hey everyone...I'm very excited that I'm starting this journey. It's a long time coming for me and it's high time I started making myself my priority! I am however a little anxious about some of the things I'm hearing from others who have decided to go with bypass instead of band. One woman told me she did some research and found that there is a substantial failure rate after 10+ years. Anyone else hearing that? Not sure what the reason for failure would be...possibly non compliance? Not getting fills? Thoughts anyone?
  15. Hey, thanks for the friend add. This site is great. I'm seeing a lot of positive feedback about the bands. Not that it's easy but everyone seems to be having positive experiences over all. I'm not banded yet, still going thru the steps for insurance approval. I'm hoping for Sept/Oct. Still researching and trying to find out what kind of experiences others have had. Keep in touch! :)
