Glad to hear that I seem to be in the minority with the UN-fill problems. And don't get me wrong, I'm still a fan of the band. I had it for 10 great years with great success!! I'm just sharing my experience as is everyone.
And for those of you who seem to know where or how I went wrong... How I didn't do the right thing or eat the right amount or types of food... Well, I caution YOU especially!!!
DON'T PASS JUDGEMENT BASED ON INADEQUATE INFORMATION!! We are all different as was said. Anyone ever pass JUDGEMENT against you??
    Ever heard THESE words before:
    - "YOU DON'T NEED THE LAPBAND!! YOU'RE JUST LAZY AND DON'T WANT TO EXERCISE OR EAT RIGHT!!!" -
If you say you never heard those words then you're LYING!! It's hard for people who don't have a weight problem to understand what it's like for those of us who do, RIGHT???
SOOO... Step down off of your HIGH-HORSE and remember where you started!!
Cause we all started at the same place... A place filled with the best of hopes and intentions.

I just had my (hope) last fill coming back from a slippage and it all taken out 8 wks ago and didn't have any of those problem. A lot of head hunger but I tracked it all and stayed with in my calores limits and have maintain perfectly. It was hard the head hunger is gone for me when the fill is around 4.5. I am so sorry you had problems and hope this next choice will be just right for you.

Over the last three years I've had multilple fills and unfills. I've never had any of those problems after an unfill.
I've had more weight gain from being too tight than from having an unfill.
When you post a thread like this, you make an unfill sound like a death sentence to the band. This is not an accurate representation. Sorry the band didnt work out for you, but scaring newbies about having an unfill isn't playing fair.

There's a band to sleeve thread on the sleeve forum. So sorry this happened to you. This is one of the fears many of us harbor with the band. Did this just come out of nowhere or were there early warning signs?

My food was constantly getting stuck and I was vomiting in my sleep. Water was even hard to drink. ...I knew something was wrong. As much as I like being a size 10 I wanted to be healthy as well.

Unfilling the band is the normal Protocol for minor slips and yes it can go back to its original placement.

I went back to the doctor for my second endoscopy , and the band is back to good . Of course , I gained 16 pounds but I'm also weight training ....so maybe some muscle is in the numbers . They started to fill my band again . I'm just happy I didn't need another surgery ....that was my biggest concern. You have to be honest with yourself during this lifetime journey. If something feels wrong please share it with your doctor. I was well on my way to a size 10 before this happened ...but I'm still fitting nicely in my size 12 without compromising my overall health. I've truly learned the meaning of "Listen to your body".

Thanks Larry! I noticed Dawn and Joyce have their weights wrong, unless they are trying to gain weight this month, lol.
I really appreciate all the hard work, time and creativity that you put into these charts each week and month! You're hired, now I just need money to pay you with!

Congratulations! You've taken the first big step in extending your life! You're in control again - don't let other bring you back down! I am feeling 100% better after about 7 weeks (post surgery) of feeling (for lack of a better term) "out of sorts." My doctor said sometimes it takes a good 4-8 weeks for the anesthesia to leave your body. You feel tired, no energy, depressed and you doubt that this was the right move for you. Just hang in there - you'll feel great soon. I was feeling very lousy.
You did this for you - to extend your life - to get healthy. Be strong and you can choose not to be friends with these people. You have a lot of folks who will support you on this site. Congratulations on your amazing accomplishments. Keep up the great work! Make sure to take in your liquid Protein, no food cheating and get lots and lots of rest.
