  1. Hello Fellow VSG'rs ok its been a while since I was on here , but I am happy to say I am currently down to 178lbs , thats 75 lbs from where I began this journey !!!!!! As a result of losing what I consider to be a whole child off of my 5'2" frame , I can do so many more activities including running!!! Running has been an activity I absolutely hated unless it was moving me away from immediate and immenant danger, but to do so created an inferno in my chest and made me sweat like a race horse!!!! My new NSV is that I am now running because I actually like it ..... what ????? did I just say that ??? Oh yes I did , it allows me thinking time to myself it kicks up my endorphins and makes me burn way past the run , and I am preparing to run a half marathon in September. Now for me thats major because I used to profess being allergic to running!!!!!! My legs are building all king of muscle tone , although I still have the loose skin and thighs that wont just dissapear already!!!! But all and all I feel fabulous and I wouldnt change a thing about my journey and progress :-) Hope everyone is fairing well!!!!! My enemy sugar just wont give up and go away , I am fighting hard to lose that relationship.

    OH one more thing, I use the Fitbit to track my activity , I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Fitbit. It motivates me to outdo my own scores daily as well as those of my sister. My mind is set on oh I walked 5.85 miles well I can make that 6, I keep moving and look again and its 6.95 and I'm like well now I have to make it 7 and so on !!!! That little thing has had me pushing myself beyond my limits trying to do better , I LOVE IT !!!!!!

  2. LilMissDiva Jazzercise classes are local all around , mine is only two blocks from me held in the local friendship center. I go to Jazzercise wherever I am , such as in Michican when I visit my parents and in Virginia Beach when I visit my best friend, the website to find local classes and times is www.jazzercise.com Once you start going you are hooked I say that because it happened to me after trying so many other workouts that I gave up on . If you try it let me know what you think!


  3. I personally love love love Jazzercise!!!!! A mix of cardio, strength and jazz dance !!!!! One hour of a total workout depending on what you put into it and the sweat and burn make you feel absolutely wonderful!!!! 4 times a week , and did I mention I LOVE IT !!!!!!


  4. When I saw my surgeon on the 17th he suggested I follow the liquid diet that the Dietician had given me to lose at least 5 lbs this week. The reason for his suggestion , he said it would shrink the liver which is in the area of where they will need to perform the procedure. If anything it gives you the headstart on weening yourself from cafienne and sugars so that you are not just cold turkey. Thats my thought process , plus I have lost weight these couple of weeks that I have done the diet. Use your best judgement , but I think its better to be completely ready for the change in consumption .


  5. April 2010 I started this Journey, my road blocks were all health related, I found out I had tumors in my stomach, Barretts Esophagus and Pernicious Anemia. My first doctor seemed to be doctor Gloom and didnt give me a hopeful prognosis at all. I asked my primary care doctor to send me to a new specialist for a second Opinion .... needless to say I am so happy I didnt accept the first doctors diagnosis!!!!! Dr. Nadimpolli gave me hope and a path to get to this point. Now Here I am a year later , I cant do the Gastric Bypass because they will need to be able to perform the endoscopy exams to check for tumors , so I will be Sleeved on 6/27/11 the good thing about this is , it eliminates the creation of gastrin which was causing the tumors and the Barretts Esophagus should get better. Yeah!!!!!!! I so look forward to losing the co-morbidities that I have, I've seen so many of my loved ones suffer because of them. If I can change me first then I can be a blessing to someone through my experience!!!!!!!

    Can someone tell me how to attach the ticker that shows your progress ? I want to have a way to track/measure progress as this journey begins.
