KanesMom quick answer is Yes - size does matter!!!! as time passes mainly, you always need to measure your food amounts you don't need to "weigh" liquids - at your early stage you should keep track how many liquids you intake, so you are making sure you are getting enough Fluid in mashed potatoes in soft stage 1/4 cup - (hold the gravy maybe ) 1/4 cup sounds fine, don't really remember, listen to your body - your tummy probably won't "allow' you to eat much and of course always chew, put utensil down, wait, then start up again when you eat - very slow progression actually, you must/should always keep tab on liquids (solids too - maybe use MFP) you need to get 64 oz of water/liquids in daily - at first it might be hard - but it is necessary, and eventually, i'm confident you will succeed not sure i answered your ?, but always ok to get more info (even if you might already know it)

ProudGrammy replied to Amanda626's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Amanda626 sure, you'll eventually have a normal "dump" again you will have to be on solids for a while then if all goes well - you'll be back to your normal self referring to bathroom "situations" is a common question/problem amongst NEWBIES things do take time to settle after major surgery - but you'll eventually be ok As PdxMan corerctly said, The fun aint over yet ... take care continued good luck -

devonmae being on the "sleeve board" i'm biased towards the sleeve you do have the malabsorption problems with the gastric bypass - intestines et al many dr.s won't even perform the lapband due to all of its complications why would there be a board regarding lapband to sleeve board if there were no problems with the lap band?? and the sleeve really DOESN"T - people are always concerned that "it" does stretch - but trust me it really doesn't!!!! you will be very happy if you go the route of the sleeve you will still lose weight at a "quick" rate - but then again, slow and steady wins the race too good luck

anniemay congrats on stopping smoking never having smoked, i can only imagine how difficult it must be to deal with a nicotene addiction - a struggle by successfully quitting, you are showing how strong and committed you are to WLS don't think about gaining before WLS just because you've quit smoking i understand that no more smoking - your hands might "want" to keep busy by eating work hard, don't give in to temptation with smoking or food easier said than done of course I have faith in you i see you will succeed good luck with all best
