getting sleeved tomorrow
ProudGrammy replied to toy27's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
toy27 most all soon to be sleevers have the above emotions completely normal hold on to the excitement part put the "nerves" on the way back burner before you know it - it will be tomorrow WLS will be over - you slept right through it get a good rest in the hospital walking, walking and more walking is important to get rid of any gas you might have it also starts to give you some needed "strength" drinking might be hard at first - take it slow - but due your best you will be on the road to health and happiness and a longer lifetime good luck speedy recovery -
Kacy hun your only 2 weeks PO its no fun - not feeling good "I know its my fault"??? not sure why you are saying that??? you are doing fine - you are having a temporarily (msp) hard time but things will improve - REALLY sorry to repeat myself, but you are still very new to the sleeve it is good that you sent this well written email to your NUT i'm sure she can give you advice and help you its great that you are drinking - even if its slow - you are trying don't worry about the Protein at this early stage - or carbs of course you've already gone back to work!!! thats good - shows that you are "physically" feeling ok not liking food at this early stage is common - didn't happen to me, but reading the boards - many OP have the same problem so don't worry thats it only you life will slowly improve - to you continue to reach your healthier, happier, longer life good luck bud

ashleep try not to worry yourself now-you have plenty of time ahead to worry no-not really just kidding worrying is not gonna help so knock it off most/almost all WLS go without a hitch yes, there is that "possibility" of a complication but - all/any surgeries have a "possibitity" of a complication for your health and happiness - I feel NOT having the surgery is worse than having the surgery i mean the surgery will help you get healthy, help lose your co-morbities (diabetes, hp) et al the weight loss appearance is a secondary bonus if you DON'T have the surgery - your health problems will continue so.............its easier said than done - "but for me!!! - and you too please "try" and calm your nerves you will be so happy with the help of the sleeve getting you healthier, happier for the rest of your longer life!! good luck

ooooooooops carrie and i must have posted same time so, i'm glad my answer was right if it was wrong - well - people have been shot for less
-
Ms. skinniness I didn't have those "pumps" with WLS but...........i had them earlier last year when i had my knee replacement sorry for the terminology - but they put these "things" around your legs that inflate on and off that helps to avoid you from having blood clots - like those special stockings that are given at the hospital i'm sure someone else can explain it better i'm pretty sure that is what DmrBigF4vr is referring too

amytug edit...i didn't look at your profile before now i see that you are only 5 weeks PO lots/some people are depressed post surgery - different feelings, things going on in their life "temporary/brief" regrets about having WLS adjustments to eating, drinking et al sorry you are going through this mood "stuff" you mentioned possibly looking into getting an anti-depressant??? you have to see a therapist first - then a doc needs to prescibe a med there used to be "that" big stigma with seeing a therapist, i don't think so anymore "my" therapist said to me once - "1/2 the world sees a therapist, and the other 1/2 SHOULD" yes, yes - its true i see a therapist after listening to you guys all day - do you blame me IMO if you are kindof feeling a little bummed - you really don't have to parade a smile on your face buttttt.......one day i was mad at hubby - angry, not smiling - this went on all day then i realized i was making me feel "more" miserable by me acting "miserable" - so much wasted energy !!! smiling always makes me feel better which in turns makes me look better which then makes me feel even happier!! I also think you burn more calories smiling than frowning take care bud hope you feel better

What happens when you reach your goal?
ProudGrammy replied to schristine1375's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
What happens when you reach your goal? I went to heaven and back probably not the answer you are looking for, but its true for me per NUT by a year/GOAL i had my calories increased to 1,100 but i eat from 1,000 - 1,500 calories per day but shhhhhhh - please don't tell my NUT I continue to maintain - so all is good -
southernsoul congrats on being sleeved june 19th with your excitement and anticipation - time will pass quickly maybe you can start to follow some of the drinking rules - eating smaller portions this will help you - give you good practice for your "official" life with the sleeve! before you know it, you will be starting your longer, healthier, happier life with your new best friend - the sleeve i think all the "wants" you have listed - are very doable as you lose weight - your health, energy, mobility will improve enjoyed reading your well written post telling us the "life" of southernsoul in a million words or less!! easier said than done - but you must/and will be patient for your surgery in june - remember.... "God Grant Me Patience Just Hurry Up About It!!" take care speedy recovery
-
fatnomo congrats on loosing 68 lbs!!! iggychic ONLY speaks the truth!!!! per most/most/most NUTS/surgeons you can not stretch your sleeve the "stretchy' part was removed you can only possibly/maybe "stretch" your stomach if you eat alllll day (and night!!!) eat, eat, eat - then you might stretch it - this probably won't happen to you i can see you want to continue to do great with your sleeve WooHoo being able todrink more & more Water - thats great - this has nothing to do with "stretching" your sleeve - which as noted - can't happen continued good luck keep up the good work/job
